Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
RGIII's armstrength is pretty extraordinary, and while it makes a big difference in every offense I think it's key in our offense especially because passes are made on the move and from different angles.
Good read on RG3. The ball definitely jumps off his hand, and I noticed how quick and compact his delivery is. The ball comes out quick with his release.
Probably because we had to endure Jason Campbell's throwing motion for so long that RGIII even looks that much better. |

"Jumps off his hand" is right. It is amazing how that ball just flies out with seemingly little effort on his part. You'd think that he has a little mechanical ball launcher hidden in his palm. |
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
Did not Rex look like we down shifter the Offense to a slower speed?
Granted, it was the second string.... |
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
And you're judging this off of one half of a pre season game against one of the worst teams in the NFL? He played well but no one game plans for these games. I'll hold off on comparing Luck to Peyton.
I've watched the guy at Stanford during his years there, see where I live? This guy is not your regular draftee QB, I guess only time will tell. You'll see. |
Dmac looks in form

He's got all the tools but he needs to do it in regular season games. |
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
With his injury history I wouldn't even let McFadden play preseason.

He will. Even though this was an exhibition game, he looked the same as he did in college and it will translate to the pro game. When it's all said and done (barring career ending injury) he will be one of the best of all time. I hope RGIII plays as well, I'm more familiar with Luck, his most impressive quality is his ability to make a quick decision. |

Watching the Dallas Oline play makes me feel a ton better. Thanks Cryboys

I think we may have just witness the depth chart climb of Streater.

He won't be. Not just because he can't stay healthy, but because the previous 5 years in the league he hasn't done diddly squat. He had potential. But as John Gruden said "Potential means you haven't done it yet." He's just never healthy and with the position he plays, he never will be healthy. Backs today start to become finished by age 30. McFadden's about to be 25. He won't even be mentioned in the top 50 all time. SIDE NOTE. What happened to Nield? EDIT: Wow my bad..I need some sleep definitely thought you were talking about McFadden and not Luck still. Yes Luck definitely can be one of the better QBs this game has seen, but so could/can Mr. Bob Griffin |

Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
Do you think we keep 2 DTs if Neild is serious and goes to IR or would they keep 3 regardless?

Yes we keep 2. We did it last year. Baker has been getting rave reviews in camp and if you saw the buffalo game the other night you would've seen why. Do I smell an Anthony Bryant signing coming soon..? |
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
Dear Dallas Schmowboys,
You looked like crap last night. Your pal, Alvin |
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
I'm still amazed that Oakland gave up all those picks for Carson Palmer. What a terrible trade.
With all the hype about RG3 and Luck, what about Russell Wilson? |

Not during his playing career, but still former arrest for striking a woman when he was 22. Never heard about this |

Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
So, in the Dallas/Oakland 3-0 game, should we be impressed by the defenses or laugh at the offenses?
Oakland sacked Romo in very limited minutes. Dallas had a few INTs. Or...are both teams just completely inept on offense? I did not get to watch the game but when I heard the score this morning, I did laugh. |

It was delightful to watch. |
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
Going to have to catch the replay, at least of the 1st quarter.
|
Dear Dallas Schmowboys,

You're right, the refs wouldn't let your o-line block anyone.

MY o-line? MY o-line? Hey don't associate my name with that POS interior! My statement was a jab at Rudy Carpenters inability to play the position of QB. I wouldn't even give him clipboard to hold, he might drop it. |

Every MLB game scored more points than that game did yesterday (Hell the nationals scored more points than 1/4 of the games did this past weekend) |

Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
I think Wilson can play. Screw the height thing. He played behind a huge line last year and was fine. If he was 3 inches taller he would have been a top 10 pick.
|
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
I think Seatlle is going to have a really tough decision. Flynn will likely be the Week 1 starter because of the salary they gave him. You can't pay a backup that much money. If the season is not going well, I can see the fans chanting for Wilson to come in and the team will probably have to do it. I think they're REALLY overpaying Flynn. We have barely seen him on the field and when he was, it was with the Green Bay Packers, a loaded team.

Russel Wilson, born and raised Richmond Va, time and time again has beaten the odds. I was floored when he was taken that high in the draft. He basically gets let go by NC State, entrenched as the starting QB, only to go to Wisconsin and in less than a year has them contending for a National Championship. I was kinda a naysayer bout the kid, but have been proved wrong everytime. Dude is more than legit and his debut last week was f*cking amazing outside the one int. The throw to Brayon Edwards was a thing of beauty. |
Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
if there is a decent fa nose tackle on the market, i hope we sign him before the giants do

damn, that is a serious injury. That might just be his career. Players have come back from it, but I'd wager he will never be the same.

Re: Around the nfl: Pre season week 1
Russell is my boy. Screw what everyone says, he will be the starter in Seattle by the end of the season. Mark. My. Words.

This week we will have a better look at Robert, I'm sure he'll play about 3-4 series and pass more .
