Damn briscoe would have had a big catch and maybe score he was pretty open
Yep and a lot of Redskins Nation wanted to see him on the field now, this is why you take their opinions with a grain of salt. Im not calling him off yet though. Hankerson dropped a few head scratchers and hes coming together as a possession WR.

Tired of seeing the "Fire This guy" after our best win of the season. Everyone is screaming for Hasletts head, but still dont realize that we have two safeties that wouldnt be starting for any other team in the NFL right now, and we thought we could sugar coat it with a great pass rush but we lost one of our best pass rushers.

Im not covering for Haslett because hes obviously not perfect, but nobody is perfect and not every play call is perfect.

Btw.. people can complain about our "college style" offense but its pretty much unstoppable and a hybrid of something nobody has ever seen. Its mostly possible with RG3 and Kyle/Mike did and awesome job this season coming up with this scheme. I enjoy watching it.

I rewatched a lot of the game and the Vikings picked their poison yesterday. They want to stop Alfred "Bently" Morris and they did for the most part but RG3 showed he can beat you with his arm and legs as well.

Most important thing today for me was not defense, offense, special teams...

6-12 on 3rd downs

I'm thinking the same thing. The receivers looked like they were running routes instead of blocking.

Yes, there was risk involved in giving up so many high draft picks to get RG3 but don't be ridiculous by comparing him to Jamarcus Russell. RG3 could never have been a total bust like Russell. With RG3, the only risk was that he might turn out to only be a good pro QB instead of the great pro QB we were seeking.

Hes only considered a defenseless receiver if he had called for a fair catch, pass catchers dont have the option of calling for a fair catch. People that are runners have helmet to helmet contact all the time that is never called, and since he refused to call a fair catch, hes considered a runner.

He shouldnt be fined, but we also know that Roger loves to fine the skins for the most mundane of things. Look at the bright side, we havent had a blatant call overturned by a disgraceful review. We normally have a few of those by now.

I'm going to disagree with you on this. Yes they stink but they also gave the offense 14 of the 38 points yesterday.

This may be nothing but did anyone else notice Kirk Cousins negative body language during the game? I mean, he was expressionless and motionless as RG3 ran past him on the game-clinching 76-Yd TD run. Cousins didn't even turn his head to watch RG3 score. I'm wondering if Cousins might be developing an attitude problem.

I thought we were going to be blown out after that first quarter. Holding them to nine points was pretty damn good after they moved down the field with ease.

Two turnovers led to 14 points. The final one sealed the victory and gave us our first "Victory Formation" since I can't remember when.

The longest pass play was 20 yards. We gave up about five in the 15-19 yard range. BUT - for the first time, no plays more than 40 yards in the entire game.

In the 2nd half, they gave up three long time consuming drives which yielded 14 points.

It's not the Steel Curtain, but it was enough to win and had some very good things to counter the very bad things.

I saw Cousins walk over and congratulate him. By all accounts, Cousins is a stand up guy. I think you're reading wayyyy too much into it.

Monster games yesterday: RG3, Lorenzo Alexander, Silverback, Perry Riley, Fletcher, and Stephen Bowen.

Bowen and Riley have quietly had great seasons.

Re: Skins/Vikings post game thread

This was a well played game against a good team at home. This is what teams that are on the right track are supposed to look like. The Vikings are going to win eight plus games this season. In this one, Ponder was just a little bit off all day with his accuracy. Matt Ryan had the same issue last week as well.

Biggest difference was that we didn't leave Ponder in the game for four quarters like we did with Ryan last week. Both showed some late game ability to put it all together, but yesterday, it didn't matter.

The defense is playing adequately, given it's talent level. You can't start a bunch of guys like Rob Jackson, Madieu Williams, Reed Doughty, and Jarvis Jenkins and expect to have great results, but these results are more than acceptable as long as there are no stinker performances like the 2010 Eagles game. We can live with what the D is giving us right now. The special teams and the offense has to come to play like they did yesterday, but every week. They can't collapse and go back to how they were against TB and ATL.

Oh and the Redskins have a positive pt differential after 6 games, which hasn't been the case since 2008.

Yup. I agree. This D is never going to be "Great!". At the same time, as long as the offense keeps scoring, it will be adequate.

It's a pretty awesome feeling knowing that you have a qb can close out games, and also bring a team down the field in the last minutes to win them.

Next week's game against the Giants may be epic.

I missed the entire first quarter, the local station showed the Eagles OT loss until it was over. I started watching at the beginning of the 2nd quarter with us down 9-0.

That was an amazing 3 quarters of football! :D

I'm feeling confident about the Giants game. Who cares that they just destroyed Alex Smith's team...we embarrassed them TWICE last year with Rex. We're infinitely better this season. We can do this.

A little disappointed in Jenkins. Perhaps he's still not 100% from his knee injury.

I saw that on the 76 yard run...he was like a statue on the sideline...I just laughed though.

He has a professional, Todd Collins-like demeanor. The thought ran through my mind "he knows he's never getting the job for sure now" but I have no doubts that he's a team player.

I didn't notice anything negative about Cousins' behavior during the game. He was talking to RG3 and Kyle throughout. Think he's just kind of even keeled. Only thing that caught my eye was that he was throwing on the sidelines early in the game. Not really sure why

I saw Jenkins make a couple plays specifically on run defense yesterday where he would come off a stunt or the line blocked down or inside and funnel Adrian Peterson to the outside for an easy tackle.

Oh by the way, did anyone here AP's name yesterday????? Dude had a quiet 70 yards rushing. Defense still playing good against the run...

Yes they have been more than solid in the run game. But it's painfully obvious that we're really missing Orakpo.

If you have three legs you will be able to outrun the whole defense every time.

"We kind of felt like they were going to pressure us in that situation. [Offensive coordinator] Kyle [Shanahan] called a good play.

"I saw the double A-gap blitz. I was thinking I’m either going to throw hot, or if they miss this blitz and don’t hit it the right way, then I’m going to run for the first. I saw that they missed it, took off running and got to the sideline; thought about running out of bounds because everyone has been telling me that lately. You know in certain situations, and I felt like I had the guy outflanked. I just took off running. The rest is history.

Other observations: Kyle and Shanny have done a masterful job of tailoring the offensive to Robert's skill set.

Great to see Santana still doing his thing and contributing. Would love to see that guy get to a Super Bowl

Interior offensive line plays well as a unit. No one's dominant, but together they open up lanes and are fundamentally sound.

What a game. Those 3 stops in the 1st qtr were big and after we stopped them the 3rd time I told my wife that's going to be the difference in the game. RGIII had a great game and I loved Alexander getting more time with the D. T Williams played big and it was just a great team effort today.

I'll admit I was starting to get this uneasy feeling going into the fourth quarter. Seems like no matter how big of a lead the team has, the fourth quarter is always a tale of two games. Griffin's 76-yard TD run was huge - just absolutely huge!

I heard on the radio this morning that teams are scoring a lot of points on us during the fourth quarter. That's one area that the defense needs to work on going into the rest of the season. We can't have big leads wither down in the fourth quarter.

The One Man Gang is a football player with great instincts rather than just a good athlete. The guy can just play ball. Reminds me a little of Clay Mathews who wasnt even drafted. Some guys are just football savy and have that extra unexplainable skill.
