Looks like Cousins will start the season in 2013. If Kirk's playing lights out, we're 9-1, and RGIII's healthy by week 11... do we roll with Kirk or start Griffin?
Well from history we can expect the WRONG decision |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
If the report is true will have to call it the Strasburg syndrome except that it's a knee.

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
ahhh this is a shame.. im nervous for the 3 pm presser... let's hope for the best and forget the speculation for right now. positive thoughts folks.

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
If this report is true: “Lucy (Shanny)! You got some ‘splainin’ to do!”
If he has to miss all of next season and its only January, that means he could possibly never be the same. Thats a long long injury recovery time. I am not gonna believe it till I see it confirmed on ESPN. Inserting head into sand now. |

Funny how Strasburg got shut down, and the fan base complained. Griffin didn't get shut down and boy is the fan base going to complain now. Crazy town DC |

Partially as in I can confirm part of it, the other part I'm still waiting on |

so can you confirm acl or pcl |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
I think it's all but confirmed via twitter chat. ACL finito.

RG3 could have been a 100% healthy for this game and still torn his ACL. This is the monday morning QB going on in here, if he would have put in Kirk to start the second half and we lost the game people would be even more pissed. I will only have a issue if the coaches played him and wasnt cleared by the doctors. |

Andrews or Shanahan got some explaining to do if this is true. |
Given his athleticism I. Bet he's back sooner than u think
|
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
I have never been so nervous for a monday morning coaches interview after a game. Ughh, I can't focus at work now. Really don't want the bad news to get worse.
If you tear the same ACL twice does it have even more of an effect even if they are years apart? Or are they mutually exclusive of each other? If the reports are true I hope its the latter. |

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
As per RGIII's twitter account a couple of minutes ago....... "When adversity strikes you respond in one of two ways... You step aside and give in... Or you step up and fight."
I don't know what that means but it sounds bad to me. |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
Per, @ESPNRadio980 spoke w/ESPN Ortho specialist Dr. Kaplan. His opinion, looking at photos, RG3 has torn ACL/MCL & would start '13 on PUP list.
Details |

Probably talking about the game and why he stayed in.

Looks like he'll b out for sure week 1

Thats easy for you to make that call from your couch. it is done with, game is over. There will never be more of explanation of why he stayed in the game from Shanny than he gave yesterday nor will he forced to provide one. Unless he was told by doctors that he shouldnt go back in the game and he ignored their advice. |

Explain that one to me...lol and yeah I agree lets let the doctors decide this one. I think it just gave out on him...thats what happens when you don't have 100% ligament support. |
Punch It In, you do have a point, but when Cap'n Kirk did go in, he went 4-11 (or was it 10?) and something like 30-odd yards. Can we PLEASE give the Number 1 defense in the league some credit here, too?
The Seahawks aren't the Browns. And I'm sorry, I have no problem with Shanahan giving the guy who carried the team to the playoffs the opportunity to try and work it out through the pain and find a way to win. I just don't. That said, screw the 'Hawks now. I like Wilson and can't even root for him any more because of how dirty those effers played last night. They have been upgraded to Cowpoke- and Iggles-level hate. Eff them.
He went in with a defeated team around him and a deflated stadium. Its ok. I will always wonder what could have been. So will MS by his own admission. Rg-3 injury against ravens was a freak thing and i expect this team to be firing on all cylinders and lighting up this league for years to come. Future is brite. Httr. Edit : with KC or Griff. I firmly believe either one can win. I firmly believe KC would have won last nite. Whats done is done. We became a team this year. |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
So we know just as much now as we did before the press conference.
Which is that it looked very bad and little else. Sigh. |

Then there's these types of opposite, optimistic reports.
Robert Griffin III will fly down to Pensacola on Tuesday for an MRI with Dr. James Andrews. [B]Andrews will make a "full evaluation" of Griffin's knee, which was problematic for the final month of the 2012 season. Shanahan otherwise provided no updates. The Redskins sound optimistic that Griffin didn't tear any knee ligaments, but he clearly aggravated his prior LCL sprain and will need plenty of rest time. I can't imagine anyone would expect Shanahan to address it in his presser prior to receiving the actual diagnosis.

How can you know on January 7, 2013 that a player will be out for next year when "next year" doesn't start until probably September 8th 2013? That's 8 months away!! Is everyone with a twitter account and expert? HTTR24_7? Who is that anyway and why should be care?

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
No matter the injury, I have 100% faith in RGIII that he will do whatever it takes to get healthy as fast as possible. I heard a twitter rumor that he is ordering a gallon of Adrian Peterson's sweat to begin the healing process.
*wow I am dyslexic sometimes, originally spelled rumor as roomer. This knee has my mind all messed up. |

It depends on if he prescribed good pain meds. |
