Rocca, Fletcher and Moss should retire at seasons end, their best days are behind and are becoming a liability.
Absolutely, they have run their course with the Skins and its time for them to go. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
The line often gave RGIII lots of time to throw against 5-6 man rushes. As the game wore on, yes, they became more porous. I think that had to do more with Denver being able to pin their ears back and forget the run (b/c clearly we had) than with the incompetence of the line.
To me, this one is on (1) Kyle, for just plain sh***y second half play calling; (2) RGIII for being a really poor QB this game; and (3) the WR's for not making catches when the ball hits them in the hands. RUN. THE. DAMN. BALL. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
Kerrigan and Rak deserve mild smackdowns. Sure, they made a play or two - the fumble at the beginning of the second half was big. But the Colts were able to slow down Manning by offering dominating edge pressure. But sadly, outside of a couple of plays Rak and Kerrigan were invisible in the pass rush. Rak had zero tackles.

Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
This game was there to be had yesterday, but Denver is clearly a better team than we are. Even if we get on a roll and somehow win this shitty division, we're one and done in the playoffs. There is no way we can beat New Orleans, Green Bay, Seattle, San Fran...we have a long way to go.

Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
The loss would have been easier to take if we were never up 21-7...and if he had won some earlier games this season

Wow looking at the box score is really hard. I watched the game. I know what happened. Seeing 31-0 in the fourth quarter is, none the less, hard to fathom.

For sure cuts (or no re-signs) should be: 1) Fletcher 2) Moss 3) Robinson 4) F. Davis 5) Morgan
Add E.J. Biggers to that list. He is a speed bump. |

He's missing plays college QB's make and we've seen it every single week. He's hurting the offense. You could see Garcon's frustration with him. I don't know if Cousins is going to do any better...but I know he'll do two things RG3 isn't doing...the ball will come out quicker... which will help the o-line, and he'll be more accurate with his passes. Right now the offense needs those two things. |

yeah even though we are only 2 games out this team just doesn't seem right this season. |

Same game but sometimes that protection goes on the RB and QB.. Not saying the line is perfect but RG3 didn't do anything to help them |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
The offense as a whole was bad, didnt help the defense out expect for the one 95 TD drive.

Kory Lichtensteiger is pretty bad in pass protection. He is constantly allowing free rushers to the QB. What's that say about J.Leribeus? |

So i guess we are going to need 2-3 new Oline next year. The inside guys have been shit. Kory L, Monty and Polumbus need to go

we just dont have the talent to win games this yr. We have way too many holes and Griff has been up and down as well

I dont understand the need to throw long every play in the second half? Another thing, is RG3 really is not seeing the entire field. How many times did receiver run wide open and RG3 never saw them?

How come we never run RB screens on first down?

More accurate? The guy that had two interceptions in nine attempts yesterday, and now five interceptions in 57 career passing attempts(one interception for every 10.7 pass attempts)? Yeah, they'd be much better off. Granted, the pass to Reed wasn't totally his fault, but the pick six was a bad read and a weak throw. |

He's really struggling at times this yr, that no practice or PS really effected his play IMO. I like the deep shot at times but defenses know who our deep guy is, basically ROBINSON. So they shut that down, last week against CHI 2 guys were back there it was just a great throw |

Yeah cousins INT return was really bad, CB knew all along where he was going

Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
We are 2-5. If we split our next two games, we will be 3-6. Exactly where we were last year.
Everything will be fine. This must all be part of the plan. :-) |

D. Hall is basically team MVP so far this year. Playing as well as any corner in the league.

Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
It's not so much that RGIII isn't as sharp as he was last season, he seems to lack confidence in what he's doing out there. Holding the ball way too long, looking tentative at times, not feeling the pass rush very well.
|
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
The offense was trash yesterday, I think we all can agree on that. Every part of it except a half decent run game that the Skins decided to abandon when they were up by two scores was just atrocious.
I will say this about the defense, even though I think they played well for a little more than half... For some reason when the Broncos started to make a comeback the DB'S and LB's were playing off the receivers. It seemed that Manning went 5-8 yards every completion and then easily scored touchdowns. It was just easy quick outs, hitches, and slants the entire way down. The defense never dared Manning to throw deep. When they were physical with the receivers they created turnovers against Peyton Manning in probably his best year in his career, and the Broncos offense was pretty average. I guess when it works this team decides to abandon it... |

I honestly think he has no control of this offense at this point in his career. I almost think he is confused out there. There is a reason the great QB's want as many reps as possible before the season starts. |

At this point with 8-9 weeks of practice and playing you'd think he could hit wide open guys. That has nothing to do with not having an off season. He's missing easy ass throws and when he makes an accurate throw, his wr's let him down. If Rex Grossman played QB yesterday, we're still probably going to lose, but he's not going to miss wide open guys like RG3 is doing. He should be on a very short leash next week. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
This loss bothered me a lot more than I thought it would. I am really bummed out about the way it happened. In particular, I'll never understand why we went away from the run in this game. How could that happen after we doninated them with the run in the first half and then took a two touchdown lead in the 3rd Quarter?
When we closed the half with a time-consuming 95-yard TD drive featuring a dominating rushing attack, I thought that was the veritable model of how to beat the Broncos. There, on the sidelines, sat the great Petyon Manning and the rest of the Broncos' explosive offense - right where we wanted them. By the time the Broncos got the ball back, there were only seconds left in the half and they did a kneel down to end the half. That was perfect! Then, things got even better in the second half when the D rose up and provided us with a two touchdown lead! At that point, I could envision the Skins shoving the ball down the Broncos throats by continuing to run the ball - shades of Joe Gibbs, John Riggins, and The Hogs. I had that grand old feeling again! Then, out of the blue, no more rushing. I couldn't and don't and will never understand how Kyle Shanahan could have abandoned the running game when it was clearly the key to winning the game! Well, the bottom line is that I've lost faith Kyle Shanahan and, by extension, Mike Shanahan. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if Dan Snyder allows Mike to finish out his contract or that Mike would continue to keep his own son Kyle employed as OC. Regardless, I'll continue to support the Skins. But I tell you now, fellow Redskins fans, we're going to suffer because of it. For one thing, we're going to continue to see Kyle take us out of games with stupid playcalling. Also, and this is the worst part, Kyle is going to get RGIII seriously injured. All RGIII should have had to do on most second half plays was to hand off, thus taking no hits. Then, the devil whispered in Kyle's ear. |

Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
I don't understand this desire by certain coaches to pass the ball when they have a good running game. Baltimore is a good example of a team that has a good running game, yet insists on being a pass first team.
I also don't understand why our coaches don't adapt to the reality that we have a subpar offensive line. They are easily right now our worst unit on the team. |

Yeah Kyle sucks at play calling period. He literally is never consistent and his plays are very predictable. Also I'm beyond tired of this WR in the backfield shit. |

I'm sick of this stupid play calling. I'm sick of seeing the team on a 2nd or 3rd short situation and throwing a 30 yd pass inaccurately b/c RG3 is running for his life, he's throwing into double coverage, or it is overthrown by 10 yds. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
If you gash them enough with the run, the safeties will come up to try to stop it. Then, you can hit them with the bomb. If they never stop the run, then you never stop running. Joe Gibbs 101.

Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
I do think people are overblowing the fact that the Redskins "went away from the run." I know Aikman made a critical comment about it on the broadcast in (I think) the third quarter, and then a graphic showed on the screen that Morris had 17 carries, which is a LOT. And that doesn't count how many carries Helu had.
Because the Redskins weren't going to be able to win yesterday without finding something to lean on in the passing game, it seems shortsighted to criticize them attempting to find the passing game. I'm not sure here if anyone thinks that the Redskins were going to be able to grind out that win up seven, but I think that's pretty far from the truth. Up 11 or 14? There's a chance. It's a lot more frustrating because two quarterbacks and multiple critical throws to Aldrick Robinson and Santana Moss later, the passing game was still ineffective. And I think Kyle Shanahan deserves a lot of blame for how ineffective it was against a team that can not cover anyone. More to the actual point, my worry level on Griffin now is somewhere between 5-10%. Still very low, but not that far from serious. They have not done a good job in his development. To be fair, that knee injury hurts his development, a lot. But even considering this a lost offseason, he's nowhere near where he should be. We're close to the point where I would consider a coaching change exclusively because of RG3's lack of development, independent of the 23-32 record. |
