Howard S, John Robinson and Dan Reeves. I think Cooke made the right choice. But all the old timers were loyal to Pardee. |

I especially like the quote where Jack Kent Cooke is depicted as a destructive, meddlesome owner but Edward Bennett Williams "would never do that." |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
I voted Bevell simply because of what I've seen from Russell Wilson. If he could RGIII to run an efficient offense like that I'd be euphoric.
Being around that Seattle defense and their coaching staff doesn't hurt either. Other than that I have no preference to anyone on our list. I'm not familiar with any of them and won't do enough research before we sign one to give a valid critique. All I know is I want our next coach to absolutely HATE losing. We need someone with a Harbaugh like passion. |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
I'll take any coordinator from San Fran or Seattle
|

Some fans would say RGIII before he was drafted....lol |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
Jim Cadwell may deserve a look in the second round if we get to that.

Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
In my perfect scnario, I'd take Gruden as HC with Bevell as OC and Zimmer as DC. :D
I cannot decide between Gruden, Bevell and Wisenhunt. I'd like to see Wisenhunt bring in Russ Grimm, but bringing in Bevell is intriguing and I love the idea of taking one of Seattle's coaches away from them. I'm just not sure if he's ready to make the leap from OC to HC. If we could get him as an OC, that would be great but I highly doubt he'd make a parallel career move and leave Seattle without a promotion. McDermott would be a good choice too. I really think it all hinges on what assistants will be joining the new coach, especially the defensive coordinator. |

I think that would be fairly standard treatment for any of the serious candidates. If memory serves even Zorn got treated to a dinner and he was already on staff. |

I have not seen anybody criticize his work ethic but I do not remember reading any stories about how good it was either I do not remember any football commentators commenting on how good his work ethic is etc., which I have seen them do about Wilson. If you say there were multiple stories then that's good to know I just haven't seen any |

Call Sally Jenkins. DinnerGate has begun. More seriously, dining with candidates outside of the formal interview is pretty normal stuff. |

So I googled RG3 work ethic and I did find some articles saying it was pretty good,so thats indeed good news. I thought this was a very good article: Teammate on RGIII: 'I Don't Think He's Changed Since the First Time I Met Him' | Bleacher Report This is my favorite line from the article:"Some players, like Polumbus, say Griffin has been unfairly portrayed as an egotistical douche. I can definitely see two coordinators of playoff teams who are garnering attention as HC candidates going to be coordinators for a 3-13 team. :) |

On Twitter
: One source says Jay Gruden seems to prefer Titans over Redskins but has been told Redskins might make offer that would be tough to refuse.
While I'm not all in or all out on Gruden, I don't think we should overbid or overpay for him. Make an offer, if he likes it good, if not, don't get into a back and forth for him. I don't think he's a can't miss coaching prospect that you have to get. |

Lol yeah let's overpay for an unproven coach smfh

Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
I'm sorry, I am not a Jay Gruden fan. I've watch some Bengals games, and Andy Dalton does nothing to impress me. All he has to do is throw the ball in the same zip code as A.J. Green and Green will go get it and make him look good. I am not sure his ability to develop QBs is any better than anyone else in the league when you look at Dalton. I would rather them choose the OC from Seattle who is working with Russell Wilson and Lynch. I really like what Seattle does offensively.

Well Dalton isn't Griffin and Seattle plays it safe and runs a simple offense because of that def they have. That said I don't want gruden either |

You can look at that a few different ways. Gruden could be making something out of nothing with Dalton. |

If any of them were also former co-workers with Allen, I'm sure they will. People, especially in the media, read too far into things. They used to work together and one guy comes into town, so they have dinner to catch up. Heck, I wouldn't care if he invited Griffin to the dinner to meet the man who might be his new coach. Stafford sitting in on the Caldwell interview isn't an ESPN newsflash. |

No, he was an offensive assistant under his brother with Bruce in Tampa from 2002-2008.

I don't care that he hasn't worked with Allen. He's a proven coach and seems to be able to communicate and work well with QB's. However, I'm sure he prefers the Detriot job over this one. |
