Cousins now has two different three-interception quarters this season; Griffin has never thrown three interceptions in a game.

Benching Cousins for McCoy probably isn’t something Gruden would consider. But Gruden is also probably no longer considering keeping Cousins at the helm once Griffin heals. If nothing else, Cousins has removed any doubt that there shouldn’t be a quarterback controversy in Washington, unless it’s a controversy about whether Cousins or McCoy is next on the depth chart after RG3.[/QUOTE]

Though to be fair in regards to B-Mitch's comments the standard for RG3 among most of the fan base is that RG3 is the starter until we know for sure that he can't play in this league. If Cousins is held to that same standard no way he gets benched before RG3's return which at this point can't come soon enough.

I'd take anything between the 4th and 6th rounds for Cousins. Let McCoy be the backup next year, use the 7th round pick on a QB to groom as the backup QB.

Use the pick we get in the trade to use to build depth at any one of the unlimited holes on this team.

*there is no way in hell any team is offering higher than a 4th rounder.

P.s. I liked cousins coming out of the draft even before we got rgiii. I was mistaken.

With our top 5 pick I'd like to try and move down a few spots and get Landon Collins or PJ Williams. We need to get a playmaker in the secondary. We force 0 turnovers.

This team has so many holes, but i feel like we need to use higher picks on secondary players and middle rounders beefing up the o-line. I really hope that at least one out of Long/Moses is starting material next year.

1) Kirk Cousins is who SmootSmack thought he was. He just fooled the rest of us!
2) I'd rather see Colt McCoy at this point. But honestly, I'm about ready to tune out until RGIII is back on the field.
3) 20 years of losing - and Dan Snyder has owned the team for about 15 of those years. If you can't figure it out within 15-20 years, you have no business being in the football business.
4) I hate the gold pants. Hate them! Bring back the burgundy pants and white tops. The great Redskins teams I knew growing up wore those unis week in and week out.
5) I like lists!
6) This team won't be winners until we have a competent front office. From the owner down to the position coaches. I'm not saying we have the wrong folks in every position, but we have the wrong folks in the front office. Keep Bruce as a money/contract man and nothing else.
7) Move the team out of Maryland. Let Maryland have its Ravens - the Redskins don't belong in Maryland.
8) I used to be so optimistic to the point of it being sickening. Not anymore. I see no light at the end of the tunnel unless some major changes happen within the next season or two. I mean something dramatic.
9)I wished I had access to every game the Redskins played during the 1980's. I'd rather watch those games on Sunday in place of what the product gives us nowadays. I honestly think even the games I'd watch them lose would be better quality effort than what I see nowadays.
10) I'm not sure what else to say that hasn't already be said. I just couldn't end on an odd number.

Long as Snyder owns the team, it will be hard to win.

They have players they can build around, but realistically its less then 10 or so. Shanahan who kept saying they had nothing when he started, basicly left them with nothing. It's just too dysfunctional, they hire dysfunctional delusional people. I don't think Jay Gruden is, but I don't see how he can win with what he has here.

I absolutely cannot believe that fuckin 'call on the field' fumble fucking stood after review with Roberts knee down and the ball still in his arms. Absolute fucking disgrace like 100% of the other Redskins game this year. Almost unwatchable the way we get penalized 68% more than every team we play, when they HOLD orakpo 80% of the time he rushes. They review a play that is 100% consensus amongst every viewer announcer retired ref you name it... And they fuck that up too, against us of course. Fuckin refs. If we ever do get a chance to win again this season? Don't worry they will be there to fuck us, grab your KY kids.

We were a 3-13 team last year. These last two games have been against the defending Super Bowl champs and another team who went 10-6 and would have made the playoffs in any other division. As far as the playoffs go, that's out of the question for us and was from the start for those were realistic about our chances. However, the the schedule gets easier from here on out and we can at least hope for a less-than-horrible finish. Maybe 5-5 or 4-6? If we lose to Tennessee though, all hope for having a decent first season under Gruden is gone.

I hate that I'm already looking forward to the first draft prospects thread. :doh:

You actually think Kirk has trade value left? IMO any trade value Kirk had has now been intercepted and heading the other way.Kirk needs to play and see if he can turn it around because his trade value aint worth jack now.

Frankly I'm not worried about his trade value,I want him to get as much experience as he can,when RG3 takes back the starting job it wont be for long because I dont believe he will ever be able to stay healthy,his body was not built for football.

Looking at Dallas vs. Seattle I believe we have better skill players on offense than Dallas as a whole. Dez is a rare beast but Garcon, D Jax, Reed, Roberts, Alfmo, Paul as a #2 TE I believe Griffin has more upside than Romo if he can stay healthy. Dallas o-line is better if we had there line we would as least be a 4 win team at this point. I think if we draft some studs upfront we can be something next year.

At this point some changes are needed, put LeRibius and Long, bench Lauvao and Chester. Start a youth movement. Long is no Moses, I have faith in him.

We're a 3-13 team who had no 1st rounder, lost 36 mil in cap over two years, and we're without our starting QB. This is what that looks like--no great surprise here. We are rebuilding NOW. If we get a game or two improvement at the end of the year, that's progress.

The big issue here is QB play. The TOs are just killers. They suck the life out of a team. It's pretty hard to get psyched up to smash into some 300+ sized guy when you feel your QB is just gonna chuck it back to the other team. There's a reason people use the cliche that 90% of the game is mental. All we've learned is that Kirk aint the guy. Can RGIII be the guy? I sure hope so. But all this talk about tear the house down and fire the staff is just wrong, IMHO. THE question for this team is about RGIII. The rest is just finding folks with the right skills over the next few years. We've got some decent WRs/TEs, a LT, a few LBs/DLs, a CB or two. But if we have a good QB who can win games and not throw them away, you'll be surprise at how everyone else plays better and makes plays and does their jobs.

My guess is we'll win a few games here, even with Kirk. Tenn, TB, Minn--all winnable, obviously. We'll get a division game W too, maybe. But that's it. That's a 4-5 win season and I'm ok with it if the trend is upward and RGIII shows something. If not, we still need a QB. But leave the FO and coaches for a bit.

I really don't know why, but this season has been one of the hardest to take in recent memory... I have accepted the fact that losing is now the status quo, and there isn't anything we can do about it... Dan is not a good owner, Bruce is not a good GM, Gruden is a rookie HC, the Coordinators are average at best, the talent on the team is average on a good day and the depth is as deep as the kiddie pool...

I guess the real question is why I expected anything to be different this year, or have expected anything to ever be different...

I keep waffling from blow it up to continuity, and back and forth.

This ^^^^, is exactly what we need.

OFFENSE:

Gruden came in saying he was going to coach to the personnel we had. While admirable, the talent we have is markedly different from the playoff proven offensive strategy in Cincy.

We have to choose what we want to be and then become that team. Huge dominating o line and TEs worked before for Gruden. And giant receivers who can run block.

Changing a teams identity takes years. The cowgirls had a multi year plan, stuck to it and just ran ground the number 1 defense into the dirt.

DEFENSE:

I really want continuity on defense. Really. I'm struggling with our secondary not making adjustments in the NY game. Morris or Haz or somebody.

Cooley was talking today about leaving cushion and checking off the line up to the individual based on comfort level of our CBs. He suggested our guys are way too inexperienced to be making those calls. Good coaches do more with less. Raheem has underwhelmed.

Not sure how much of our problem is talent and how much is scheme but in-game adjustments are definitely on the coaching staff.

I'm going to raked over the coals for saying this but I would like to see a better RB in there.
There was a play where Morris could have bounced the play outside to open field with one defender but he wont attempt to make people miss and he just cut it back into the pile.

Defensive rankings based on yards are worthless IMO. I think right now we're middle of the pack in terms of defensive rankings based on yards, but are dead last in points (which is more important). So while we're not giving up a ton of yards, we're giving up points.

We're also dead last in giveaways/takeways (-9), with a whopping 13 giveaways and only 4 takeways.

Players need to start making plays both big and small. I'm sick and tired of seeing wideouts dropping key passes (Roberts), defensive players dropping INTs (Orakpo in the AZ game, Breeland in the Philly game, etc., etc.), and Cousins throwing mind boggling INTs.

Aside from the Giants game, the Redskins are not getting blown out of the water (as they should be given our roster). Coaches and players just need to get their heads out of their asses and get their act together.

So one play? The dude is second only to AP in almost every stat since he joined the league. Gotta feed him the ball. He is theee absolute furthest thing from a problem in the entire organization.

I think teams are set on shutting Morris down. They overload the box to either stop Morris or overwhelm our offensive line.
