Just saw a couple stats.
First interception of the season from the 1-yard line. The last three years Seattle has had the ball at the 1-yard line 17 times....they ran it 17 times.
Lmao, what a time to change tendencies. :joecool: |
Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
Great game now everyone is 0-0 again. Pats earned it this yr and brady was as good as he's ever been. But it's time for someone new in the afc so hopefully next yr it'll be different over there. As for the nfc it still goes through Seattle and GB imo

Pats will be good again because Brady is ageless. I think the Ravens are favorites too rite now in afc. Nfc - yeah seattle n gb. A long time until next January though alot can happen. A move or two or draftpick or two can put a few other teams in the running like Chiefs, Colts - hate to say it but Dallas or Philly. Arizona ? Thats why they play the game. |

Dallas is a pass rusher away from being really scary. Can the skins build a winner this summer?

They need to draft a couple of impact players and play their cards just rite in FA. Plus either Griff or KC needs to get their head outta their ass. |

Just got home. I"m still in shock over that call on the 1 yard line. Bevell should just pack his bags after that horrendous fuck up. I'll never understand it. They blew the game worse than Green Bay did in my opinion. I imagine the press conference for beastmode going something like this:
Reporter: So Marshawn, what did you think about that last play call by Bevell? Marshawn: I'm just here so I won't have to choke that bitch. |

LOL. No. Brady didn't stop the Seahawks on the goal line or this wouldn't even be in the discussion. If anything, these teams seem to gift wrap these types of games up for Tom. Wilson actually outplayed Brady that game. How about you give the Patriots defense some props. Hell, if the Seahawks run beastmode on that last play, you guys aren't even having this conversation. In terms of Seattle's defense. Well, they didn't help matters much giving Tom extra chances by defensive off-sides on a 3rd and 3 giving them a 1st and a TD to Gronk. Let's put this notion aside that Tom is doing is all by himself, which is pretty much what you guys want to make it out to be. Also, the Seattle DBs didn't handle the NE WRs like they did Denver's last year. Huge difference in the results as well. |

Just stop dude. You obviously hate Brady. Youre not the only one. Not sure what else the guy can do though. Nobody said Brady did this all by himself. Neither did Montana or Bradshaw they were surrounded by HOF'ers. If you want to make the argument that its a team sport thats fine. You want to say the D played great or Edelman or Gronk played great than go ahead. But as far as the QB position goes Brady is as good as it gets.

This. The guys has 4 rings, Super Bowl MvP 3 times, and has never had the surrounding cast that many other championship teams have had. I don't hate Brady. I think he's one of the top 5 QBs of all time. Does that sound like fucking hate to you? It's talented individuals that do the job week after week. You think Vince Wilfork is just playing above his level? You think Chandler Jones is some scrub that is motivated by BB? McCourty? Revis? Mayo? Hightower? I can go on down the list and most of these guys would replace ANYBODY on our squad. There is talent beyond Tom, you just refuse to recognize it and give them their proper credit. Who exactly is BB getting to "overachieve" on that team? |

You are talking about how Russell fucking Wilson and his 12 completions - who by the way - is surrounded by much more talent than Brady - outplayed him?!?!? On top of that - we are the idiots? Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
Calia said that he has never had the talent around him that other championship teams have had. That is a far cry from "toms never had talent around him". Niners, cowboys, steelers - those championship teams make toms talent look stupid. Than you go and say that Tom has talent that could replace anyone on the Redskins roster????!!!??? That is supposed to be impressive? Pass whatever you got on over here. It must be really good shit.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
Dude, seriously, how much coin did you lose tonight in the last minute of the game? I can only assume it was not insubstantial.
No one said Tom won the game himself or that he hasn't benefited like all QBs do from some luck (although no more than others, in my view) and help from the supporting cast. But did you really think Wilson outplayed him tonight? I didn't see it that way - he put up 28 points on that D without a huge input from the running game. That is impressive. Wilson shows heart but had a nonexistent first quarter and barely a pulse in the second. As he did two weeks ago, he came back in the second half and played well and with heart. But the better QB got the win tonight, no question. Name the stud RBs Brady has had in the last 15 years. Outside of Randy Moss for a few years and Welker, same question for receivers? Remember, we are talking for a 15 year period - few guys stand out as elite offensive players during that span. Not a lot of HOFers on defense either, although Revis this year is obviously an exception. Now think on the weapons that Terry Bradshaw had - Stallworth, Swann, and Franco Harris, not to mention a defense that even Pete Carroll would envy. Montana similarly had a lot of talent around him, including the best receiver to ever play the game. All three teams had incredible coaches. Brady won 4 with different players and in different ways, and was pretty close to winning 6. He had all 6 Patriot teams in it to the wire. Not enough for you? Also, feel free to disagree, but don't call me or others on the site idiots or other such nonsense. It reflects poorly on you and really doesn't have a place here. If you are sick of reading opinions with which you don't agree, no one is forcing you to contribute. |

You would be talking about how Wilson outplayed Tom and the 2 INTs.
The defense did great in the 4th quarter. For three quarters that defense was mediocre at best. They gave up more than 150 yards rushing. Wilson looked like he would never get sacked at times during that game. There was absolutely no pass rush. The picked on Arrington the entire game and the secondary looked bad outside of the 1st quarter. They gave up a touchdown in about 30 seconds right before the half which happened only once this entire season for any team in the NFL (according to Tren Dilfer), but they did step up in the 4th quarter. I agree with that. But all of that doesn't take away how great Brady was that 4th quarter. He carried the offense that 4th quarter and looked almost perfect against one of if not the best secondaries in NFL history. That same defense that made Manning, Rogers, and Brees look like Jay Cutlers. But I guess since his name isn't Peyton Manning when he throws 4 touchdows and 350 yards the credit should actually go to the defense. |

Tom Brady 4 Joe Montana 2 Eli Manning 2 Tom out played the Hawks in the first and the fourth quarters ,when it came to crunch time in the Super Bowl he shows up . I agree NE has a team with talent but it is Belichick and Brady that can get all that talent to work together and that is what the hard thing to do is, that is coaching ,getting the next player to play just like the last one, consistency and team work is coaching and many talented teams can't get that right ,to do it 4 times in what 16 years (go 6 times) they are both the greatest of all time, people need to stop hating them for being great ,root against them sure but the hate is sad . |

That's because the last play was the game. This was a Super Bowl, man. The only thing that matters to a team in the Super Bowl is winning it, no matter how well or poorly they played. The game was on the line and the Seattle coaches got cute and blew the game. That's the story. It was a Beast Mode moment if there ever was one. |

I agree. Tom was throwing all the underneath stuff and their defense never adjusted.Where was the aggressive play from their corners like in last year's SB where they man handled those WRs? Keep in mind though, Lane and Anvril got hurt in that game. That's 2 starters down. Puts Brady as one of the best of all time, if not the best. Pats had no running game and were one dimensional against a real good defense. Pretty much put the game in his hands with 50 passes and he delivered.
