I gotta admit, I like Cousins too and I think he's better than RG3, even when he gets nervous and throws INTs. But I'm going down with the RG3 ship.

That's the most frustrating part, it wasn't at all. First off Garçon separated very early in the route, and Griffin should have launched immediately. But he double clutched. The ball was slightly under thrown, and instead of leading Garçon to the middle, or at least straight up the field, he lost the ball toward the left sideline. Pierre had to spin back the other way against his momentum. He should have caught it, but still, on a blown coverage even still there was hesitation from Griffin and deep ball inaccuracy.

Very, very frustrating.

I would never conclude anything based on just one quarter of preseason game one, but if Robert doesn't show better in the coming weeks I would be supportive of the team if they concluded sometime in the first half of the season that Robert is not going to be the long term QB, and give Cousins an extended chance.

At least then we know where we are with Griffin, and can find out if Cousins is worth resigning.

Redzone called it a homerun ball or something to that effect? I should have known. Listen KC isnt the answer, but he might still have time to blossom into an ok QB. Maybe better than ok? Who knows? But Griff man he just does not have what it takes. Oh well. We need the defense to be staunch, and we need to pound the rock behind a hopefully improved oline. It isnt going to be pretty but it can win games if we stay committed and play with some dang attitude.

Yup. Doing some good things but then ... not.

He was a beat or two slow on several passes. Hung tough in the pocket. Missed a couple obviously open guys. Jay didn't call many (any?) movement plays for him.

Play was pretty terrible. Making the same mistakes as last season: double clutching, happy feet, overthrows/underthrows, throwing the ball late, you name it.

I think it reflects what the eye test showed: inconsistency. Had a couple real nice throws, one in particular on the move after escaping pressure. But on others hesitated to get it out on time. I also had a major beef with throwing short of the first down marker on his first read on third down, his target was smothered. Guaranteed punt.

And then the poor throw on the bomb to Pierre.

Cousins looked way sharper. Ball was out on time every throw. 7 for 7 to start. But he did it against backups, with Redskins backups on the field with him. So who knows.

God damn that's a horrible drop. That said, if the coverage was tight, that play wouldn't have happened b/c he wasn't hit in stride. Waited about a split second too late to get it out. That was 100% on Garcon though. I think the play says more about how horrible Gilbert is for the Browns as well. Another first round bust in the making.

If Garcon catchers the ball and RG3 went 5 - 8 100 YD 1 TD; Morris goes 8 - 42; starting O-line give up no sacks - we all would be happy. Instead Garcon drops the ball and everybody has a negative opinion of the game.

Defense looked real shaky. Terrible call on Culliver. Looks like the refs are in mid season form.

Really looks like Gruden is going to be more committed to the run game. That is a good thing. We have a nice one two punch.

Not sure what to say about Griffin. He played a quarter and had 8 passes. Just hard to evaluate him off such a limited sample size. On the play he ran for a first down he had two guys wide open and choose to run and risk injury. Nice throw on the run to his left.

Obviously KC was really sharp tonight.

Feel real bad for Paul. Done for the year.
