i think sanchez is probably better than rg3 or kaep, but it's got to be depressing for the broncos fans that were looking forward to this season.

Not worried about the Giants or Eagles. We all know from experience that signing free agents doesn't mean more wins. The Eagles have gone on a few spending sprees and it hasn't worked.

Eagles already shipping out two of their big $ free agents from 2015.

that's a big FU to chip kelly, but they've managed to get rid of bad contracts, which never happens in the NFL.

Just thought I would put this in here:

NFL, NFLPA move toward deal that would strip Roger Goodell of disciplinary power

I honestly feel that issues pertaining discipline are one of the biggest carrots that the NFL dangles in front of the NFLPA. While I understand the need to have fair disciplinary system, I feel that the focus on this takes away from other areas such as player compensation (franchise tag, guaranteed money, etc., etc.). It's almost as the NFL says to the NFLPA, "sure we'll concede to your demands in terms of player discipline, but as long as we can keep the same system of compensation."

Pats had a lot of issues with their offensive line and in a draft that is deep in defensive linemen, this makes sense.

Well the problem is Chandler Jones was in the running for Defensive Player of the year and Cooper is a flat out bust at guard. don't know, me think this is dumb.

No they aren't. Belichick just pulled out a masterful trade. Think about. We just saw a very average DE (malik jackson) get 90mil and 42 of that guaranteed for 14 sacks in 4 years. Here Jones is sitting on 34-36 sacks so imagine what kind of money he's going to command. BB isn't going to pay these guys JJ Watt money. He got great value for a guy they had no intentions of extending.

Yeah still just don't like it. Cooper sux, he was probably a cut in camp. Why not WR Floyd? Or another player? Chandler jones isn't replaceable with a late 2nd round pick. I don't like it.

That depends on the pick. It certainly puts a ton of pressure on BB to land on a pass rushing pick this draft. It's a big crap shoot really. That said, it's better than him getting nothing for allowing Jones to walk due to a insane contract.

As far as Cooper goes, I can't disagree with you on that talking point.

Cooper has been hampered with injuries for a good part of his tenure in the NFL. Hopefully that can change, but it's still a big gamble.

Terrible trade. BB is outsmarting himself. You have to pay someone. You can't just pay everyone on your team 5 million or less. Sometimes you have to overpay to keep your best guys. It's not like they're paying Brady Joe Flacco money. Getting rid of your best defensive player for a scrub guard and a draft pick is stupid. Pass rushers are a premium, not a guard. Makes no sense to me.

Doesn't Belichik always pull sh*t like this all the time though? Getting rid of their best players so they don't have to pay them (if they feel that they can be replaced). Yet it always ends up working out for them.

JoeRedskin 03-16-2016 12:08 PM

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

Did the same thing with Richard Seymour a few years ago. Worked out just fine for them. As long as they have Brady and BB, the Pats will be fine. Everybody else is pretty much replaceable: OL, DL, CB's, RB's, WR's, LB's, Safeties.

Oh nooo! What will they do without Wes Welker!! ... Oh, go 12-4 and make it to the conference championship.

If he sticks around, it will be interesting to see if Belichick can win without Brady. My guess is that both ride off into the sunset together. A SB win in two years could be the end for both of them.

Dude is jacked. Looking to see him get some PT next year. Along with P. Smith, lots to like about our young LB corps. Happy about Foster and Compton coming back, and Gallette being re-signed. Lots of hitters in that group and some decent football IQ here and there as well. If Kerrigan comes back healthy (as he really wasn't a lot of last season), the middle of our D could be reasonably stout. Need some DE help and a real NT, along with some help at S and CB depth -- I assume that's our draft.

I wouldn't call that girl dumb. She got what she set out to accomplish. Baby with an NFL player who's going to be supporting her child big time with fat checks in the mail. Got to give her props for dissing his requests for food stamps.

there was clear speculation that the NFL told the Rams to draft this guy as a publicity stunt by the league.

Im not surprised if this is true....I still think the NBA drafted Ewing for the New York market....but there should be an investigation and Goofdell should be fired if true.

This is really big. I don't think people understand how much this will impact the game.

This virtually kills the offenses with zone-based running schemes and who use athletic offensive linemen. In other words, the Shanahan offense of 2012. Cut blocks are critical to zone running schemes, especially on the back side of the play which opens up holes for one cut-back and go.

Teams will now be forced to win with power run blocking schemes. This is a big advantage to the Cowboys and Redskins, and a crushing blow to teams like the Eagles, Falcons, and Broncos.

I think you'll see it will be much harder to run the football in 2016, and teams will slowly adapt by placing a bigger emphasis on drafting big strong linemen who can win in a phone booth, and transitioning to power running schemes.

We've got a leg up on that with Callahan and the bigger maulers we've been getting on our roster.
