Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Great we just drafted a quarterback that wont even play. How the hell is he going to stop King Zeke and the mighty Dallas Cowboys. They are going to absolutely destroy us and Im not even going to watch
Edit : all kidding aside. I saw this guy play quite a few times. I like him. |

For all you worrywarts.

Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
if anyone's wondering, nate is fairly accurate, high yards per play, but doesn't read defenses well or play well against the blitz.

He should have plenty of time to develop and good mentors in Cousins and McCoy. If never develops past a solid backup it still fills a potential need. |
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Sudfeld is a big boy.
I think we just drafted a tight end. Nate Sudfeld Draft Profile – NFL.com |
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Zeke Elliot is no Trent Richardson. He is the best RB to come out of college since Adrian Peterson. And If Scot is not worried about him, well, wait to you see what happens when we play Dallas. They have a great OL and none of our DB's or Safeties will be able to stop Zeke with a 10-15 yard head of steam.
Look, I am no Ohio State fan. But being in Columbus for the past few years I have watched Zeke run over or around every defense (including Alabama) that OSU has come up against. He is a freak combination of speed and power. I shake my head when I hear Scot worried about stopping Sproles on a third down play but then ignoring Zeke who will carry the ball 30 times running behind an OL with three first round draft picks. It is not going to be pretty for us.
Actually think our 2nd round pick will be used in the kind of role that would limit Zeke. But overall I like that they spent a top 4 pick on a RB. After letting Murray go it simply that means he will only be a cowboy for his first contract. Sent from my S6 Edge |
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
My guess is Pierre Thomas comes back and there must DL FA that McC must think is more ready than a rookie DL.

Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Looking for Jeremy Cash and/or Jack Allen in the 7th.
|
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
with the 46th pick in the 6th round....
|
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
We are going to be fine ???? Who is going to stop the run against the Cowboys offensive line? That guy from Temple ??? Temple ????? Run stopping isn't even his strong point.
You guys really do not appreciate what a dynamic running back Zeke Elliot is and how he is going to impact Dallas' offense.
If you draft to counter an opponent's draft, you're doing it all wrong. |
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Now onto picking special teams players.

Allen was my pick for 232.. Perhaps 242? |

Edit : all kidding aside. I saw this guy play quite a few times. I like him.
I'm in San Diego and have somehow seen him play a few games. I like it too. He will be our practice squad QB until Colts contract is up or he's cut. Or they trade him next year for a higher pick than they spent on him. Went with the old (successful) Packers system. I like it. |

If he develops into "our" solid backup that would be a huge plus to say the least. |

My father is an IU alum so i tend to watch them when they are on and yes they were on quite a bit this year. |
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
A RB. That's good. Needed another body.
|
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Keith Marshall, yes please! Nice. Love love love the draft this year, and 3 extra picks next year when we have a lot of free agents. Great freaking job again.
|
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Keith Marshall, very talented, got hurt, but a real speedster, can he get back to his pre injury mode

Keith Marshall ran the fastest 40 at the combines.
|
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
Real solid draft again by SM. Probably have 4 guys that are going to contribute right away. A little disappointing that we didn't get more d-linemen, or a center.

you can't get everything. technically we addressed our needs minus center, but i think the top 3 are very solid. |

There are 2-3 centers that could've gone in RD6 or RD7 so Scot could be planning to bring a few in to take a look at. Jack Allen, Jake Brendell.. |
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
4.31 super super fast running back with no field vision and lacking instincts. basically a track star in pads. could still help on teams and in zone stuff pretty quickly though.
|
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
and now it's time to do the mad scramble for the best UDFAs and see what we manage to grab.

C, OG, DL, SS, some others, nfl actually has pretty good ratings, just click on the position and scroll down to the undrafted list. |

Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
It looks like there are a few safeties they should try to sign. And small college DL.

per Gruden " no glaring needs " which is his explanation for trading for 2017 draft choices. He is delusional, did the Redskins just win the Superbowl ?

Coach speak im sure |
Re: Day 3 NFL Draft 2016 Rounds 4-7
If you hear his full explanation it makes more sense. 2 years ago the team needed a ton more work. Glaring needs all over. Now they can stick more to BPA and fill in depth. It's a more solid roster today than it was 2 years ago. Makes sense to me.
