Re: Hawks post game
I blame Gruden for the play call. He has to know that his line is already weak and is going to have some mental errors, so don't call a drop back that close to the goaline. He could or should have called a play action or had Cousins on the move there.
With 4 guys on the O line who cant be trusted including your entire interior line, I think Gruden was damned if he calls a run and its get stuffed for a safety or Cousins gets sacked for a safety. Id rather trust Cousins to read the pressure and get the ball out quickly vs 4 scrubs against Seattle all out blitz. Cousins hesitated and then got sacked. |
Yeah yeah Norman whiffed but it appears Hall was supposed to provide safety help and blew it. Double whiffing. ..
Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk
yea i equate that to rust and not even having 100% familiarity with the position and not a lot of reps lately or time... nonetheless... assignment is more mental i guess but muscle memory should serve some purpose.. I thought for stepping in out of no where d hall did an admirable job. |

And so did Norman. But they each made a costly mistake on the same play. That kind of shit happens in a secondary though, not gonna burn them for this. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |
Re: Hawks post game
So, I just looked over at the ESPN rankings. We are ranked 13. Yes, I know they are BS. Yes, I know that number of victories matter.
The teams we have beaten are ranked: 6, 7, 12, 31. The teams we have lost to are ranked: 1, 1, 5, 8. (Philly twice). The kicker is that we are ranked immediately BELOW the Raiders - who we dominated and who have lost one more game than us (4-5). Crazy. |

Re: Hawks post game
Anybody heard or read any evaluations on Sprinkle's run blocking? According to all of the Cooley breakdowns, a huge part of the run game failure is on tight end blocking. If he turns out to be a legitimate duel threat TE, it could really impact the overall offense.

Chancellor murdered Quick's head. No penalty. That was a baaad hit.

He had taken 3 maybe 4 steps. I think Kirk can trust a vet like Quick, would like to see him get 4 looks a game. Maybe be the 3rd down look sometimes with Reed getting the attention. ----------------- ESPN power rankings -- I think the power rankings are a snap shot for that week. I think our O line issues anchors where we are for week 10. |
Re: Hawks post game
So, with this being Wednesday, I wonder if we will start to hear anything on the possibilities of some of our OL coming back this weekend? We're going to need them.

At that point he was a runner so it was a legal hit. |

I bet scherff, Nsekhe, TW return. I would start Nsekhe and keep resting TW till the Cowboy game. If Nsekhe struggles then put TW. |
Re: Hawks post game
If that hit is still legal the NFL is still allowing its players heads to turn to mush. That was 100% avoidable.

Neshke practiced today with the 1's, I have not heard any word on Scherff or long. TW is done for the year IMO he needs to get surgery. |

Nsekhe Kouandjio Roullier Scherff Moses Or Nsekhe Kouandjio Long Roullier Moses Would work! ! Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |

Lauavo and schreff both practice in a limited capacity and were on the “upswing”per gruden today. Per Keim

Clemmings about to get sent to the pit of misery.

Re: Hawks post game
Just heard Cooley breakdown of the oline from the Seattle game and confirmed a lot.
First, Catalina should probably be cut back to the practice squad. His performance isn’t gonna work and there is certainly better options out there, D minus grade. Tj Clemons probably is gonna get someone hurt vs the Vikings, d plus. The rookie center started good, but almost got cousins killed on the Ryan grant over the middle. He was poor most the game...I think he gave him a D. We need all these guys off the field on Sunday |
Re: Hawks post game
Or they need to be coached up. Only so many healthy bodies right now.

True shit. A drop off in play is expected, that's why they're backups. Two of them are rookies too, of course they're gonna be bad. |

Here's an idea, move Scherff to LT, Roullier to RG while Nsekhe and TW heal. Scherff after all was a stud T in college. |

He's gonna have to have a hell of a bump in play to knock off Scherff lol. I assume you mean he'll replace Lauvao. Remains to be seen what we do there next year. I ain't sold on Long though, he's decent but there's definite room for improvement. |

Lauvao has been playing consistently better, and Kouandjio has played solid every time he played... We'll see, Callahan has proven to be able to make pretty much any group work, and depth at OL isn't a bad thing to have. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |

It sure would be better than Catalina IMO. I was stunned they released Kouandjio at the end of training camp, so I was expecting a lot out of Tyler Catalina... we got lucky nobody signed Kouandjio ! !! Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |
Re: Hawks post game
Can't remember who asked, but Cooley sayd Sprinkle is by far our best run blocking TE (he even implied it's close to the best we've got since himself retired).
Currently watching the all 22 of the game, this is evident. You can see he actually cares about it, like on one play he holds his block but the run doesn't get much and he slams his fist into the ground out of frustration (can't tell if it's at himself or just the outcome of the play, but any case he cares! ). Re: Hawks post game
Lol Cooley is being a bit generous saying he's the best blocking TE we've had in a while. Logan Paulsen was a better blocker than him.
