Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
What a fucking game. That's it for me. I hate both teams, so I lost either way, at least the game was awesome.
Its our turn next. We're now the bottom of the barrell in our division for last SB. |

Well, I was wrong. It was Cooks. It did hurt the Pats. |

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
OBJ should just come out already. It would be great for all the gay professional athletes that are in the closet.
What a great game. I don't want to hear anymore excuses about injuries anymore. The Eagles were the best team in the NFL w/out Wentz and Peters. Why didn't the Pats play Butler? It was obvious they were having trouble in coverage yet you leave him on the bench? The play where Ertz scored their DB just fell down and looked like a high school player. You mean to tell me Butler couldn't have done a better job on that play?? I just didn't get that at all. |

Maybe we will know if Butler changes team. |
Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
Odell and Eli were fucking hilarious, and yeah no doubt that OBJ is gay but who cares? F it good for him.
Also 69 is right on, injuries are no more an excuse, I'm sorry but look what they did w/out a ALL PRO LT and ALL PRO QB (although I think fOLES is just as good). Also there is NO WAY you can let Foles leave now, that dude is a PHILLY LEGEND after last night. He had one of the best SB games I've ever seen, dude caught a TD!! I'll say it again, I'd trade Wentz for the 1 & 4 and roll with Foles who is obviously a damn good QB. |

As they were getting ready to present the trophy there was a quick shot of him arguing with the security. He was like the first guy on line to try and get up on stage. Why the hell would he want to be up there with the players and coaches? Did he have something to do with the win? Unbelievable. |

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
also, what the hell was up with Chris Collinsworth last night? Just about every score the Eagles would get, he would go on and on about how it was a "bad call", or some other shit. Aren't the commentators supposed to generally be unbiased? Did anybody else notice it, or was it just me?

Yes seems like he’ll pick one team and be more enthusiastic for them than the opponent. |
Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
Yes the catch rule needs to be re-worked but I’m really getting tired of announcers in the booth complicating matters.
The Ertz play was pretty clear, he took 3 steps and dove for the end zone. The fact they were questioning it was annoying AF. |
Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
Really enjoyed the SB. Very happy for my eagle friends. Even my wife who doesn't care or watch football other than the super bowl commented on how she thought the announcers were biased. Also during the Bud Light commercial I heard the term "Dilly dilly" I have heard it before but don't know the reference. wtf is it?

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
Ertz clearly caught the ball. He clearly made a "football move" so I don't know why Collingsworth was whining about it. I also don't know why the zebra sat there and had to review the play for 5 min. That entire sequence was so annoying.
|
Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
It was a GG but not a top 5 game IMO, only reason I say that is because there was literally no defense at all, guys running wide open all night and gaping holes to run through. It looked like a college game

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
I am hard pressed to think of anything I care less about that OBJ's sexual orientation.
Back to football, I was really hoping that the Eagles would lose a heartbreaker at the end -- their fans are unbearable and are destined to become more so between now and the next time we beat them, which sadly may be forever from now if the team doesn't do better with talent management. It was an exciting game. Brady three for 505 yards, 3 TDs, and no INTS . . . and lost. And they had something like 115 yards on the ground. If you were told beforehand that the Pats would hit those numbers, you'd think it would be a blowout win for them. Crazy. No defense anywhere to be found. Watching both teams march up and down the field made me think we're pretty far from being able to do that at the moment. We really need RB help and WR help, and our D needs help in most places except OLB where we seem pretty set. The Eagles were putrid a few seasons ago -- heck, they hadn't beaten the Redskins in ages until this season. It really illustrates how crappy our FO is. To be sure, there's always a bit of luck involved in these things. But we sure could use some this offseason. |

They just need to be consistent in the way they apply the rule, and don't overturn the call on the field unless you really have something clear. I like the stand on the Clement's TD. On the Ertz TD, announcers made fools of themselves, they got confused with the rule that a receiver CATCHING THE BALL GOING TO THE GROUND must maintain control of the ball all the way through. But Ertz didn't caught the ball going to the ground, he caught the ball, took several steps, and THEN went to the ground. That is the difference between this and the Jesse James play which was a good overturn with the rule as it's written now. Maybe there's something that needs to change there. |

Ball was obviously moving, that should have been a no catch under the current rule the way they have called it this year, but the rule is so fucking confusing,no consistency whatsoever,so no wonder it's confusing to the announcers, and the Ertz catch I thought was a catch and run,but I can see why Collingsworth could be confused after he couldnt believe the Clements call stood. As for Brady,I was definitely pulling for him to pull it out.Haters gonna hate. That dude probably works harder then anybody at his game, takes extreme care of his body, demands accountability from his teammates, ultimate competitor. AT 40 YEARS OLD!!! Wins MVP! I dont think he is truly appreciated for how good he is,has anybody at QB position ever come close to winning MVP at his age before? Shreds Phillys defense for over 500 yards in a Super Bowl! And he had an off game lol Dude is unbelievable |
