Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Our secondary is fine. Norman and Moreau are starters. Scandrick slot and Dunbar 4. I'm not too worried.
Montae is a good S too Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
That’s a lot of guys that haven’t proved to be solid starters yet (all but Norman) - not saying they won’t, but part of the point of the draft is hedging your bets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not familiar with Kareem Copeland. But nice work in this article..

Players still out there I would be interested in seeing taken by us in Round 7 (in no particular order):
Skyler Phillips Quin Blanding Bradley Bozeman Auden Tate Ryan Izzo Will Clapp Ade Aruna Kevin Tolliver Tavarus McFadden |
Yeah, I agree. But you know how it goes, hard to fulfill every position. We have 1 more pick, so maybe we can find a hidden gym.
I saw an article that said Apke actually did well in the slot. If he helps there, that would change my whole stance on that pick.
We have 2 more picks. 241 & 256. |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
This says so much about Gruden and our FO. They are going to bet their futures on Arie Kouandijo. Not sure I agree with them. Arie is not good enough.
From Washington Post: "Coach Jay Gruden said the plan is to keep Christian at tackle, particularly after injuries ravaged the position in 2017. The Redskins were thought to be more in need of a guard, but the team has repeatedly touted Arie Kouandijo as someone ready to step in on the left side as Shawn Lauvao is not expected to return. “We need depth at tackle,” Gruden said. “He’s a great young tackle. He’s one of the best pass-blocking tackles in this draft, in my opinion. He plays left and right side and provides ample depth for that position. A position you can never have too many of.” |

Even better. Didn't see our trade to get Bama backer, just assumed we gave up a pick. |

Is Hercules Mata'afa still undrafted?

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
MY man Greg Stroman is a Redskin! This guy is a great punt returner. We finally have a punt returner! He's also a very good CB with excellent ball skills.

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
solid Pick...
|
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Now, give us Will Clapp and we're good.

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
I like the pick. Another guy that could develop in the secondary and a punt returner
Dude, this D has so much young talent to work with now, and special teams should be improved too. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
I really want to hear what the team liked in the 4th round pick.
I'm withholding judgement till we see the guy but it is definitely the WTH pick. I am really looking forward to hearing Cooley's take on Apke. |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Very good draft overall IMO.
We would have loved a G/C instead of an OT, but that tells me our FO didn't let need outweigh BPA, which is a good thing. We finally have a NT, and a starting caliber RB. We've added depth at OL and secondary. We have to find a LG, my guess is we bring in guys, maybe sign Lauvao to a non-guaranteed ham sandwich and make Nsekhe, Kouandjio, and who ever else compete for the job. I'd give it an A- despite not having found a solution at LG, because we scooped up a 3rd, stole Guice, and still got one of the expected players in the first, filling a critical need. Plus, Kouandjio is bad in the run game, but can do the job in pass protection IIRC. |

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Pretty meh draft for me, but we'll see in 4 years.
Would've strongly preferred James to Payne and Lorenzo Carter to Guice but those 2 are still good players. Like our last 4 picks a lot. |
Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Trey Quinn. That's not bad.
Im reading about him now. Sounds like he could be quite a slot receiver. Overall take on the draft is obviously yet to be determined but I think we may have a D and a run game. HTTR |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Apke 4.34 in the 40.
It’s a boom or bust. Mayock loves him, others say too much to learn. We already have a backup safety in Deshazor Everett who is limited athletically but knows the game. Happy to see us roll the dice on a guy who could really put it together if he studies the game and learns from DJ and Monte. And at 4.34 you’re talking about a serious asset on punt and kick coverage. |

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Jahri Evans (G, 34 years old, 71,7 PFF grade), Mike Person (C/G, 29y, 70,5pff), Brian Schwenke (C/G, 27y, 67,1pff) are all available and could be decent short term solutions to complete our OL!
(by comparison, Lauvao 30 years old, has a 38,3 grade, and Kouandjio, 26 has a 49...) |
