[QUOTE=MTK;1218311]He’s playing football, it’s simple economics. In baseball you have to toil away in the minors before you get called up and if you’re any good you’ll eventually get a good contract. In football as a first round pick he’s getting paid right away.

Kyler Murray in tough spot and not managed well at Super Bowl. Marketing team putting him out there while Boras commanding “Don’t say you’re leaning to either sport!!” Should just lay low. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

He's 5'9 and 180 lbs. Stay away from him in the first 4 rounds.

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
No way Murray and Haskins make it past the giants and raiders. Trading up for either def isn’t worth it.

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I would be willing to take a chance on Finley or Rypien in the 3rd or later. We would have a solid backup for next year and worse case scenario you have a replacement for Colt. Let the new coach decide the QB he wants to build his offense around next year. I’m not a huge Lock fan so I don’t know that I would want to waste our first rounder on him when we have so many needs.

I agree, however Allen says they are trying to resign J.Johnson. I could see them keep 3 QBs.... the 3rd round comp pick sounds like a good time |

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
Lock is a lot like Josh Allen to me last year. Clearly the most physically talented, but can he put it all together. Jury is still out on Allen, probably will take Lock a couple seasons to see how good he can be. If we pick any QB, I'm going in with positive attitude and giving him a chance.

Can’t count him out just because of his size, plenty of smaller dudes have had great careers in the league at more punishing positions like RB

Yeah I heard him on the Dan Patrick show last week...he sounds like he has no clue what he wants to do. Dan asked him lots of questions, and was nice about it...and his comments made him sound dumb. I get he's not tipping his hat yet, but he had zero response, he could've been much nicer/sharper and just said I'm not going to answer that at this time but he just sat there silent...like he was caught off guard by the questions. I know it has nothing to do with his play on the field...but it was a negative vibe in my opinion. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft

When it comes to Murray, this is not being talked about enough. He was able to convince the Oakland A's enough of his commitment to baseball that they spent the 9th overall pick in the draft on him. If he now chooses to play football, can we really trust any assurances he gives the team? What's to keep him from changing his mind? If he plays in the NFL, then the Oakland A's would have wasted an incredibly valuable pick on him and get nothing back in return. And if he's drafted by the Redskins but then later changes his mind, then we could have wasted our 1st round pick (or more, if we moved up to get him) on him and get nothing back in return. There is NOTHING about Kyler Murray as a player that makes me think he's a "sure thing" to be worth of what it would cost to draft him. But when you add the "commitment" issues into the mix, he's just far too risky. There are some teams in the NFL that are positioned to take that kind of risk. We aren't one of them. Due to the Smith injury and cap hit, we don't have the luxury of swinging for the fences with our top draft picks and hoping for the best. We strong, safe picks. |

I honestly think his value is not in the 1st rd.....he has dynamic play making ability but he lacks the physical measurables to be taken anywhere in the 1st rd...he's an early to late 2nd round pick at best.... Because of his small size and his severe lack of bulk he's an accident waiting to happen just like RG3.... |

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I'm a diehard Sooner as u all know, I've watched every game he played and film . I would pass on Murray, last yr I was all in on Baker , opposite this yr on Kyler. He's electric and he does have a solid arm but as you have said here, does he really LOVE football? Or is he just in it for which team pays more? I'm not sold on him playing long in the NFL.

So he's choosing football? Just like he chose baseball before he changed his mind and potentially made the Oakland A's squander a first round draft pick on him? |

I truly believe he will try and play both sports which is why I don't want him, but there is a lot of talk from twitter world saying the skins are interested and John Clayton said it as well so we will see. I'd rather have Jones |

He's as fast as Vick was , and has a good arm. But.... In all fairness Mike was not a very good QB, so again I'm leaning towards Jones but if they take K1 at 15 I won't be pissed. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
Kyler has a quick release and looks accurate. Just worry about injury in the NFL, been down the road with a blazing fast QB who didn't handle hits well.
I still wonder what Colt can do if he can stay healthy. Give him a good WR at 15 and we might find out. |

We definitely can't assume Colt will be healthy 16 games, but he is GOOD in this system when healthy. Josh Johnson looked at least somewhat competent and i imagine an entire offseason with the team we could rely on him to fill in a few games here and there. If we resign AP and Guice and our O-line are healthy, we should have a DOMINANT run game. We really just need a WR who can stretch the field to take some pressure off and we should be ok. Draft a QB in rounds 2-7 to develop and potentially start in a year or two. (Colt could look great and be the projected starter in 2020... and At this point, there is at least the possibility that Alex could be back in 2020, too). Our QB situation is not as dire as some make it out to be. We definitely shouldn't feel forced to take one in the first round. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
We've been wondering about Colt staying healthy for how long now? I've given up on him being a 16 game option. History shows he can't do it.
