If the Skins do trade for Rosen, then I DO NOT want them to give up the #15 pick for him.

After the Antonio Brown trade with the Steelers getting a 3rd and 5th, I doubt anyone gives up a 1st.

I'd give a 3rd for Rosen and that's it.

It's a given that the Redskins will draft another QB....we have too many QBs that are 30 years plus....I'm expecting Keenum to be practically the same game manager that Alex Smith was if not slightly more....he's proven that he can play....

That's all I'm giving too, if they want more let him go elsewhere and just roll with Case for a yr and draft a rookie

Except he throws a lot more picks

If Keenum was any good he would not be on his sixth team by the age of 30. He also had double digit fumbles last year.

Definitely not a game manager.

And yes anytime a player jumps around there's a good reason for it.

And that is why the skins know a QB is a top priority

This is why I think NY did a good job in the Odell trade .

A #1,#3 and a two year starter former #1 pick at safety. Plus when all is said and done it will save about 3 million in cap space this year.

Another question, if the Giants are rebuilding why do they have a 38 year old QB

This is the main reason I don't understand the trade. We already have close to 25 million tied into QBs over 30 for next year. 45 million if Smith retires before June 1st I think. Someone will correct me on that if I am misinterpreting the AS contract. I was hoping for a rebuild but I just don't see it.

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins

The trade for Keenum is fine, we need more than Colt and Keenum is a very similar player and a good fit.

My comment was directed at those dwindling few in here that always seem to be overly optimistic. I remember getting lit up when I when I called Alex Smith Captain Checkdown the day the Redskins signed him. A good many seemed to think he could duplicate his KC success in DC. Then there were those that thought Colt was as good as Cousins. A handful thought JJ could succeed in the right situation. I admit I am a glass half full type person, but some people are optimistic to the point of insanity.

They'll probably draft a guy and have Eli teach him up. There is no way the Giants are competing this yr.

I concur....there's a reason why Keenum went undrafted.....and he's a journeyman quarterback...he's somewhere near a poor man's Tony Romo and a rich man's Jeff Garcia.....

Garcia is a 4x Pro Bowler.

Keenum is a rich man's Uncle Rico.

Agreed. Both are low-end starting NFL QBs. They can get us through 2019, but after that, we either need to start a young guy we draft in 2019/2020 or hope Alex Smith is back (unlikely).

In 2020 Alex will be 36 years old, his career is most likely done. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he retired at some point in 2019.

I think that is almost certainly what will happen, and I hope it does. If i recall correctly, if he never plays football again due to his injury, we get a $10-12MM salary cap credit due to an insurance policy the team took out.

I hope so, also why would he risk playing again? This team isn't a contender anytime soon

True.....Garcia played in a slightly different NFL when defenders were a little slower and defenses weren't blitzing as much as they do now.

Jason La Canfora is saying now that it is unlikely that Alex Smith ever plays again. I wonder if he has heard some sort of rumbling from a team source / something?

I’d imagine he has heard it from a close source
