If these Nats can actually win the World Series that has to be a 30 for 30. "What if I told you, getting rid of a jackass would be the way to prosperity?"

An ESPN 30 for 30 hating Harper

Don't even say it Quake. The further we go the more superstitious I get. I don't even like to think about winning the NLCS, or the WS, because until you get that 4th win their dream isn't done yet either.

The one thing Davey does right that I totally believe in is his "let's go 1-0 today" mantra. Simplify the game. Don't worry about advancing to the WS. At the end of the day it's still baseball. Pitcher gonna throw the ball, you try to hit it, and vice versa. Control your heart rate, forget the stakes.

It honestly feels like a dream right now, like it shouldn't be this easy. We put a 4 spot on their ace last night and made it look easy. Strasburg went 7, and fuckin' Fernando Rodney and Tanner Rainey closed out the game giving Doo/Hudson rest? Fuck it shouldn't be that easy.

You guys are embarrassing the Cardinals. Makes it even more pathetic that the Braves lost to them.

I would love nothing more than the Wiz and Nats bringing home a championship.
All DC teams winning except for the Skins would be the biggest FU to danny boy.

We can only hope the jealous rage he's in right now will lead somewhere, like examining how the other DC teams got to where they are (hint: they all had competent FO's that knew how to build a team).

The thought crossed my mind but once the 8th was over I felt like the clouds had lifted.

Win or lose it's been a hell of a ride this postseason, I'm happy for them no matter what. I will happily eat my plate of crow about Martinez, I was one of the doubters for a while but his steady approach has clearly paid off.

Lol. Its been since ‘09 , And were on the verge of not winning one in the 2010’s. [emoji22]

Should be a good WS I would have been happy with either match up but was pulling for the Astros and Braves. Astrid story gives me hope and I really wanted to see Nick Markakis get to the WS. I think the pitching match ups are going to be amazing in this series.

The Nats just beat a pitcher that had won 16 straight starts, if that doesn't give a team confidence I don't know what would. Being on the East coast is nuts, the game ended just shy of midnight and only went 9 innings. I used to live in Cali where the games ended at a reasonable hour for someone who worked an early day shift job.

Im an Os fan but I go to a Nats game once or twice a year. Really nice stadium.

I put 100 on the Nats to win at +215 so I would be invested in the excitement of the WS.

Hopefully Strasburg has a good game tonight and the Nats come back to Washington DC with a 2 games to 0 lead!

Same. Yankees were up 2-0 a few years back only to get swept in four straight games.

The sucky part is due to superstition I can't watch the games live. Every time I'm watching live the Astros start cranking out hits. I'm keeping up with the game on ESPN and watching after. :(

I don't like the comparison, the Yankees just out spent everyone by a wide margin the last 45 years. The Patriots have dominated for 20 years against a salary cap and constantly drafting at the bottom of rounds. The Patriots success is impressive, the Yankees isn't.

+1

Not even thinking about titles or parades right now, just go 1-0 two more times. Win your battle against the pitcher/hitter, win the inning, win the game. This series is far from over.

Also, I gotta mention the Phillies hiring Girardi. Damn good move by them, if anybody knows how to manage expectations and a team full of stars it's him.

I'm talking in regards to titles in comparison to the rest of the league, not how they got there.
I would love the Nats to bring a title to DC so we can point and laugh at Dannyboy.
Ted Leonsis already did that in 2018 after winning the Stanley Cup! If the Nats can win two [emoji3577] more games, Ted Lerner and do the same.

Hummm...maybe if Danny can somehow be forced out, he can be replaced with another Ted and maybe the Redskins will win again [emoji6]

Well, this series is a long way from over but it looks like all we did is piss off Goliath. Best of 3 after tonight, assuming an unthinkable comeback isn't in the works.

Hope so. The best we can hope for now is a 6 game win, but the momentum has definitely shifted back to their side. Hoping we get things back on track tonight or tomorrow if tonight is rained out.

Washington completely blew their chances by not winning last night. Poor job by corbin and the bats.

How you beat Cole and verlander and then lose to a poorly pitching Greinke and a nobody pitcher last night?

Wave bye to the series, you blew it nats

The two bright spots from tonight's game: titties (NSFW) and Trump's reception (love how they led with the veterans to get cheers from the crowd).

If anybody cares to get into how classless it is to boo a president at the WS, let's take that convo over to the politics forum.
