They should have just cut Doc after he liked Cravens' comments on Trent. Enough already. Cut your losses and admit he's a bust.
I didn't see the purported Doctson like tweet. If someone has it, post it here. I wanna see these young guys play v. Cincy (Sims, McLaurin, Harmon, etc.) See what they have.

I’ll be glad when we let Doctson go. We’re always waiting for him to do something, which never happens.

I’ll be excited to see McLaurin, Cam Sims, Davis, Quinn and Harmon raise this WR group into something exciting. It’s going to surprise the NFL because the experts think our WR suck.

I just hope Gruden doesn’t keep Doctson and let one of the rookie with REAL POTENTIAL slip through our fingers.

Doct got the benefit of the doubt last year.

By any appearance unless he literally balls out in these next two preseason games I'd also be on board dumping him in final roster cuts. If a guy doesn't want to be here, fuck him.

looking back at the 2016 draft, 1st round WR's were terrible!

There were 4
Corey Coleman got an F
Will Fuller, the best of the 4, got a C+
Fuller was my top-rated WR prospect in 2016 because of his explosive playmaking ability. Over his first three seasons with the Texans, Fuller has averaged a touchdown every 8.2 catches, but he's also missed 17 games during that span, and durability has become an annual concern. He's incredibly impactful for the Texans' offense -- when he manages to stay on the field.
And if he was here, he would have been an invalid given our current injury bugs

Doctson - we know him :( D+
Laquan Treadwell D-

Michael Thomas was taken in the 2nd...

Some years are just like that. An entire crop of first round WR's wasted.

The even sadder part is that Tyreek Hill was taken in the 5th round. Why cant we get an offensive gem like that one of these days.

There is no need to ever draft wr's in the first round. Productive wr's can be found in the mid round and later rounds. Shit, Mo Harris is better than Docston.

The Redskins are shopping Doctson who is low on the depth chart.

Teams have to know one or both will be cut so I doubt that any trade happens for either.

He says he wouldn't be surprised if he's just cut. Either way it looks like the Doctson days are over in DC.

They’ll take a 6th rounder and a PB&J sandwich for Doctson now. Ok, forget the draft pick.

Re: What kind of production does Doctson need in 2019 to stay on them team ?

They gave up on the PB & J sandwich. What a waste of 1st round pick. Maybe McLovin’ wasn’t that good at picking worthy draft pick.

I mean picking a 1st round draft pick is usually a gimme’. AT LEAST a starter. USUALLY a franchise player.
Look a ALLEN and PAYNE.

Doctson was a bust. END OF THREAD.

I posted it before but that draft's 1st round was notoriously bad on WR's. 4 picked only one still on the team and he is injured enough that his team just traded for Kenny Stills

Not going to happen. Kirk didn't throw the ball to him here. Why would he do it there w/ 2 100 catch wr's?

Doctson was set to hit the team’s salary cap in 2019 for $3.197 million, and the Redskins will only save $620,000 after releasing him, according to CBS Sports.

Warthog 09-02-2019 10:01 PM

Re: What kind of production does Doctson need in 2019 to stay on them team ?

We have new WR talent that has more speed, motivation, youth, potential and is far cheaper than Doctson. Saving $620k isn’t much, but dropping him it gives our newest WR a chance to excel. We’ll see how little Doctson does with Cousin (another ex-Redskin underachiever).

I can guarantee that one of these new WR, this season, is going to do far better than Doctson ever did:

McLaurin
Harmon
Davis
Steve Sims
Quinn

One of these WR listed above would have been dropped to the practice squad or completely off the team if we had kept the lame duck Doctson.
