I think that’s the plan. Bring Ryan back if he will decrease his salary to that level. If not, he will be traded. I think it will work for both the team and Kerrigan. He’ll be the backup to Young and Sweat. Our pass rush will be fierce because everyone will be super-fresh with Kerrigan and Ionnidas coming in as the backups. I also wonder if Ionnidas will beat out Payne in the TC for the first team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think it's VERY likely that they take Young with the second pick, but I'm not willing to write it in pen yet...

A big trade deal is Highly doubtful. Teams can get a cheaper deal by going to Detroit. Also, historically the big trade deals DON’T work. Didn’t work out for us with the big RG3 deal. The bad history of monster trades is why teams shy away from them. Chase Young will be on this team and we will have an amazing pass rush, without blitzing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I want CY unless we get 1st rd picks over the next three years. Our rotational front four has the potential to be good. Imagine just having to get the QB not holding gaps or taking up space.

Yeah, but with Chase on the edge and Kerrigan (restructure his salary) and Ionnadis as the backups to keep everyone fresh, we won’t have a good pass rush, we will have a potentially “great” pass rush which will instill fear in QB and DC. I also think you’ll see Sweat come into his own as a very good pass rusher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think they will select CY too. But if they turn one first round pick into three AND make great selections, this team is much better - faster - than they would be with just the CY selection. That's my opinion. And to be fair, we were on the wrong side of the RGIII deal. |
Agree just not trying to get too giddy that's why i went with good pass rush.
Yeah, I think the Redskin’s pass rush will improve a great deal for the following reasons: 1. The defensive coordinator, Del Rio, is light years better than Greg Manusky. The entire defensive schemes will be better than Manusky’s. Del Rio has led defenses in the top 10 and even top 5 in the NFL. Manusky has led his defenses to the bottom of the NFL (2019 -Redskin’s were 27th). So we’ll see our pass rush get better JUST due to a better run defense. 2. 4-3 versus 3-4. Sweat went back into coverage about HALF the pass plays because of the 3-4 defense. The 4-3 is much better suited to the players we have and will improve the play rush over last year. 3. Chase Young. We’ll know more about Chase Young at the combine. We’ll find out about how he interviews and all the physical tests of the combine. I think we’ll find out he is a physical freak. But it’s impossible to predict the future. In college, Chase Young was considered better than either Bosa. But, until Chase actually plays in the NFL, we have no idea how good he is. Still, based on his college tape, I still think he will be as good as predicted. Will he be great, very good, or just good? Only time will tell. These three reasons are why our pass rush will get better this season. I think our pass rush will be far better than last season. We were 11th in the sacks last season. It will get better and our defense will improve A LOT from its dismal 27th ranking. That’s what’s important - getting a better defense, not how many sack Chase Young gets. I think the pass rush will be very good, for the reasons above. Above that level (outstanding, elite, great) we’ll have to see. I can’t wait to see how good it is! Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2020
I think he will be dropped very soon, so that he has the most opportunity to find a position with another team. Although many ppl think that Jason is making a huge mistake by not retiring, he may be picked up by another team in a one year deal. Not worth the money he will receive, but he is making this decision.
I’d be surprised if Jason Reed ISN’T dropped by the Redskins with the next week or so. His $8.5 mill in cap savings will go to pay for signing Hooper in FA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I really liked him, but he could never stay healthy. I guess it doesn't surprise me that Bruce would bet the entire team's success last year on Reed, even with all his injuries. BA was always counting on guys who couldn't finish a season. I was really hoping Jordan could come back last year. I was a little surprised that he played in the Pre-Season and that hit was just a cheap shot. |

Original post updated to reflect some accounting cleaned up. Tress Way's extension actually doesn't affect his 2020 cap number at all, the extension goes into effect in 2021. Some other true ups completed to stay in sync with Over The Cap, who deserves tremendous credit for staying on top of the cap situations of every team in the NFL.

So after we hopefully resign our own - scherrff , etc do we have alot left to go big in free agency? Seems like we do, and im in the mood for kool aid! |

Yeah holmes if you just read the OP it says we have $61M in space now, and we could tag Scherff and sign Flowers and still have $40M left. We should do some damage in free agency. |

Started scrolling back didn’t see the numbers, but even if i had im not sure how much is alot. Remember you are dealing with some people who do not work well with numbers. We need help. Lol. Who the fuck would have thought flowers would be a priority but as a Cane Alumn and Skins fan hell yeah. So 40 mill sounds like enough to address some serious needs. [emoji106] |

Do we need to do damage in FA? I'm all about trying to find value in the market. Is there someone out there being underutilized by their last team or someone who was stuck behind someone better who hasn't gotten the chance to prove themselves yet? I know we have to pick up at least 1 veteran TE with the emphasis Scott Turner puts on them, but I'm passing on anybody looking for a payday. |

You have to sign the right people no matter what the strategy is. If you sign 2 big dogs, gotta hit on no worse than 1. Sign 5 solid dudes, better hit on at least 3. I'm not against either strategy if done properly. I'm gonna give Smith and Rivera the benefit of the doubt with the strategy this off season, including FA and draft. I do want Hooper though if anywhere near reasonable to get hm. |

Bruce Allen also badly missed on hiring FA. Out of the top 8 FA hired last year, 6 ended up on IR, some missing the whole year. 6/8 is a terrible percentage! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Their engines are enough to scare the crap out of you let alone their guns. Was in the Rhine valley on a trip in 81, and they flew all the time. You couldn't mistake the sound of them flying down the valley towards you!

Yes. The sound of the gun shooting outside the aircraft is “ BRRRT”. For the bad guys that means they have 1-3 second left. Mostly though they just ran away - which is, you know, kind of frustrating! Thank you for the kind words. Now its up to the new guys, who have this amazing, cosmic shitte on the A-10C that I would have traded a non-removable and non-replaceable body part to try or use. It was frustrating using the same old gear, we were under-funded, analog, crap stuff. On one of my last flights I dropped a 1000 lb., laser-guided bomb from 8000’ altitude on a little card table and hit it!! They were just giving me a taste of the new bombs. Before that we had to do bombing with cheap DUMB bombs - hi angle, dive bomb with a constantly computing impact point - CCIP. Since dive bombing isn’t that accurate we needed to practiced dive bombing all the time. Six practice bomb passes for 1,000 flights or even 2,000 flights and you pull 4-6 g’ per pass. If you’re a 150 lb man that means you put 600 to 900 lbs of force on your spine 6-10 times a flight. Many American fighter pilots who retired out of the service now have bad spinal problems. I’m one of them. Two of my vertebrae are fused together and I’m in a lot of pain!!- Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

WWII was an incredible war that almost defies belief. Your grandfather was part of that incredible generation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you, he lived a long and happy life but died at age 93 in 2016. You nailed it, he was shot down during Operation Market Garden, he was asked to dive on German anti-aircraft positions to pave the way for heavy bombers. It would often be the American plane diving on the anti-aircraft bunker, using the forward guns when possible to apply pressure, all the while the bunker was trained right back on the diving plane. It was often a matter of who got who first. He was pretty decent at it and won several of such toe-to-toes, but he eventually caught one on the right wing. Sad thing about many of those pilots in those units, the P47 could take a serious beating, and sometimes would still be able to fly while the cockpit was on fire. So the way guys went out was burning up in the cockpit, and eventually the plane made its way to the ground with nobody at the controls. When you get hit on the wing like he did, you get the opportunity to eject before something that terrible happens. I'm glad he did, I wouldn't be here today! You're right, that was a hard war. They don't call 'em the greatest generation for nothing. |
