Totally agree.

Skinsfanok…totally forget about the Hail Mary…but that was a good return

I was up at 430am yesterday…couldn’t stay up for second half.

Seemed like the first half was long af…
Quinn must think Parson's is better at pass coverage than stopping the run, or Quinn is not very smart, because they were saying over and over about how Parson's was mostly in there on obvious passing downs, and that they were rotating Smith/Vander Esch with Parsons/Neal.
I think I saw a post which was like Parson was target 5 times, gave up 4 passes for like 75 yards. Avg almost 20 per catch ain’t good

Brown, Diggs, kazee, Wilson = Boys secondary. Diggs is a 2020 2R but the rest are Troy Apke and Jeremy Reeves type late pick hopefuls.

There is no way the Boys can win consistently with that group.

Just makes sense to attack, attack, attack that secondary and stay away from LOS plays where D LAwrence and the LBs can make plays.

------------

Dak - he does a lot of things well. He does a good job of finding the open guy, he can throw accurate to an open guy, can scramble while keeping eyes down field ... but he doesnt really throw guys open, has some anticipation but mostly has to "see guy open" before he throws it.

Hes a solid tier 2 QB and Id love to have him here at like 28m per vs the 40M per .. but he doesnt have the elite pocket passer traits imo.

Based on last night Dallas is who we thought they were. Dak is going to ball out and keep them in games, they have some nice weapons at WR, but ultimately they will be held back by a suspect D and subpar coaching.

Probably spot on but it was Tampa. Maybe their D isn’t that bad, but I hope it is!

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1

Haven't seen the game yet, but relying on Parsons for Pass coverage sounds insane given his strengths and weaknesses and that he is a rookie. But when you consider the other options are Van Der Esch and Smith.... eeeh. Would have thought Cox would have got playing time in pass coverage that was what he was good at in college as I understand it. Good to know Dallas have hired another DC with a famous name but not much talent.

A little puzzled that TB didn't rush the ball more, the interior of the Dallas DL his nothing to be afraid of, and would have helped with the time of possession and keeping Dak off of the field.

D Lawrence was wrecking shit last night. LVE and Jaylon Smith, these guys won’t be on the team next year…they are being transitioned off the team.

The only guy the Boys have in the secondary is Diggs, he’s legit. Like him

It's a classic Jerry run team.

All glitz and a HC that is basically a puppet for him.

108 pass attempts between the two teams. 1 sack. That's pretty crazy.

This is why my dream scenario was for Jerry to eff things up and let him walk this offseason, and we could have picked him. I know it is was a pipe dream, but Dak in our team would have ridiculous.

Idk they lost to the best team in football and it was close. Lets at least beat the Chargers at home after they travel cross country before we do such things.

If we win that game we can win 11. If we lose that game we are looking at 7-8 wins and thorough disappointment. I think it is a good measuring stick game for us.

I meant I would put the Cowboys at the top. I'd put us 3rd. I think we're better than NYG but until we beat them I'll keep them above us.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1

Nothing last night changed my mind with how this Division will end up. Dallas' offense looked pretty good against the Bucs with Dak at the helm. However, they looked good with Dak at the helm last year too, and they were 1-3 (should have been 0-4) to start the season...then he got hurt.

Their defense will probably be better, but there wasn't really anywhere to go but up. Their offense should be great if they all stay healthy.

However, the WFT are the Division Champs, so until they get knocked off - they are at the top.

To be fair, though....most games are close. Not all....but mediocre teams still put up a fight to the much better teams. Its not usually a total blowout.

I look at it like this, They lost to TB with TB playing poorly, compare that to our team that lost to TB (same basic team) in the playoffs. Do you think if TB had made 4 turnovers in our game, we would have lost to them? I don't. I think assuredly that our team's overall performance was better than Dallas' last night, and we have strengthened our team at several levels.

I do agree 100% that our game Sunday will let us get a real measuring stick for this season. Let's hope that measuring stick ends up saying WFT 41 - LAC 10.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1

Good point CRed.

I feel like we got a better TB team in the playoffs, than what we saw last night. Pretty sure the turnovers in that playoff game were a wash, 1-1. If TB had given the ball away 4 times against the WFT in the playoffs, no chance they lose that game.

As it was, we only lost by 8 - the closest game TB played in the playoffs including the Super Bowl.

But all that aside, new season and we need to dictate our terms to other teams. Let’s go.

How bout dem Cowboys![emoji1787][emoji1787]

The next 5 weeks of their schedule is probably the easiest part of their schedule. After the Chargers (not easy), they have the Eagles, Panthers, Giants, Patriots then their bye. Easily could go 4-1 before the two players were lost. Still possible, and Ty Nsehke is their backup tackle.

Oh we might very well be better than Dallas. Maybe we are both playoff teams?
First week every team is rusty, and working out the kinks, shaking off the rust…..hence the poor play on both sides last night.
Im just reserving judgment on which team is better until we at least get a game under our belts.
41- 10 would go along way towards saying we are the better team!
