he's like Swearinger part 2 with this blaming the media nonsense
The worst part of that is they got nothing but love the entire offseason. Everybody expected them to take the leap from good to great this year - and so far they are performing as the worst defense in certain metrics. |

It’s everyone else fault is the surprising twist in the changing the culture playbook. |
Re: Falcons postgame
I think part of the problem is we have guys on defense w/ low football IQ's. They can't do what the coaches are telling them to do. Ron says we're "immature" .. what he really wants to say imo is we're stupid.
No wonder Del Rio doesn't really blitz. If he started sending pressure we would just get destroyed. |

wtf lol
I get it man. I'm sure they are all frustrated. They thought they would be better, and they are B. A. D. I'm sure it doesn't sit well, and they are tired of hearing how bad they are. In the end, he's right - they got the W. However, the media is also right to keep writing about how bad they are. If they don't like it, they need to fix it on the field. |

Normally I don't like to exaggerate on bad calls too much - but this was literally the worst call in the entire history of the NFL. Post game breakdown: Shoutout to Budlighticke - you scare me and thrill me in equal measure. This bud's for you bud. Terry Mac - even with increased attention you are still making plays - you complete me. I love you. JD Mckissic - I know you probably won't get another 80 receptions this year but way to make timely plays when we needed it. Curtis Samuel - you were on the snap count but you made 'em count. Daps Jonathan Allen - our PFF highest graded defender - d still played poorly but not you apparently. Way to go. Jamin Davis - I saw a couple of timely tackles he made. Hope things are starting to click for him now that Bostic is out. Also - we got the win. For all the negatives - we got the win. Now we need to get in the wins in film study and practice. ---------------- Negatives: Somebody please put Landon Collins out of a job. The amount of pass plays where he ran to a spot and looked around like he didn't have a clue is too damn high. This is a god damn passing league - if you can't defend it gtfoh. Dustin Hopkins - bro you missed 2xp in a semi-indoor environment - unless there was some magical wind fucking everything up and/or Cheeseman is giving you bad snaps you have no other possible excuses. Even your most ardent defenders are losing faith now. The defense as a whole - almost 66% of third downs converted? Figure your shit out. Injuries - get well soon Logan Thomas and Scherff, and Ben St. Juste too while we're at it. |
Re: Falcons postgame
Yeah that call on Chase was just absurd. That ref needs to be punished for that one simply because it was such a huge call that had game changing implications.
|
Re: Falcons postgame
that was a top 10 worst call I've ever seen
|
Re: Falcons postgame
I don't long for the days when you could body slam a QB and get away with it, but man the pendulum sure has swung too far in the opposite direction. That call on CY was ridiculous. We need some common sense with these calls.
|
Re: Falcons postgame
I really just wish CY would tackled him, but yeah that was a bad call
|
Re: Falcons postgame
And the other thing not spoken-
Opening drives by opponents. I know they held them to a FG, but this defense needs some 5hour energy right before kickoff Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Sux for him but in all fairness he has been awful
A guy trying to play beyond his depths is bound to get hurt. Hope he is ok. But glad he is out of the lineup. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Re: Falcons postgame
JFC…can we talk about Hopkins? How in the fuck do you miss 2 extra point. My god this is a fuckin problem

Re: Falcons postgame
Scherff with a sprained MCL - likely out 2-3 weeks. Dang.

One thing that came to mind is that Chase has been flagged, at least once recently, for tackling and bringing a QB to the ground. I wonder if that caused some hesitation and led him to go for a hit, as supposed to wrap and tackle Ryan. |

Yeah that was horrible. They need to at least bring some competition. |
Re: Falcons postgame
Scherff is expected to be out 2-3 weeks. Thomas is week to week, which is good news for us. Seals-Jones isn't Thomas and I could tell how this affected the offense.

I feel we got lucky here with both. Good news..Wes Schweitzer can play. I think Logan Thomas makes a couple of those catches Seals-Jones missed or flat out dropped. |

https://twitter.com/ChadwikoTWW/status/1444744245613449218 ^^ twitter video of the play Matt Ryan does do a pump fake which perhaps caused Chase to pull up a bit not wanting a late hit .. but Chase is a supreme athlete and that is just poor body control, poor angling on his part ... seemed like he assumed Ryan would get rid of it and didnt want to come in too hot that he couldnt avoid contact if he did release it |
Re: Falcons postgame
I repeat he throws a forearm at Ryans head for no reason.

After watching the play the forearm check is a very odd maneuver.
I repeat he throws a forearm at Ryans head for no reason.
Nah, he clearly starts out with a two hand shove, and his forearm comes up to the neck area right under the mask. If he was going for the head he would have knocked him into next week. |

Maybe lifting his arm so he wasn't pushing through Ryan and it clocks him? The sequence looks so awkward. |
Re: Falcons postgame
Here comes the injuries:
@AdamSchefter Washington Football Team CB Torry McTyer tore his ACL vs. Atlanta and will miss the rest of the season, per source. |

Yes neck area - didn’t mean to imply he was going for the head - either way it was totally unnecessary wrap the motherfucker up or go for the ball. But my main point is it was a good call. |
Re: Falcons postgame
More injury news:
@john_keim Tory McTyer out for the year with a torn ACL; Ron Rivera said Jon Bostic likely out for the year with a torn pec. I never wish for anyone to get injured, but this may be addition by subtraction with Bostic out. |

Tearing your ACL on a hailmary on the last play of the game is about as ruff as it gets. Especially for a guy that had to surprisingly fight his way onto the roster. Lame. |

And now you find yourself thin at CB with McTyer out for the year and St. Juste in the concussion protocol. I hope they bring in some CBs this week. |
Re: Falcons postgame
Good news on Scherrff and Thomas. Thank God. Hopkins needs to be fucking cut today. No way there isn’t someone out there with a 40 yard fg range and can make ep’s.

I just saw that the teams head training was canned as he’s being criminally investigated. Wtf, man!

Yeah, stings a bit more on the human side of things when a guy like McTyer gets a major injury. Just sniffing some playing time, getting some increased snaps .. then this. ---------------- Deosnt the Texans have to carry Jimmy Moreland on their active roster since they poached from our PS? He has been inactive so far with them. Perhaps just have to carry him on the 53. Maybe Im getting it confused with baseballs rule 5. |
Re: Falcons postgame
Some positive news:
@ZachSelbyWFT A few positives this Monday morning: - Terry McLaurin is 7th in receiving yards (354) - Cole Holcomb is 4th in tackles (41) - The offensive line is 2nd in sacks allowed (4) - DeAndre Carter leads the NFL in KR yards (333) and is 2nd in avg yards per return 27.75 |
