I'd expect a Mike Williams type deal for Terry (3yr 60m)

I'm over it to be honest. If we can't land Watson then lets just draft a QB at 11 and pray he is good

@kevinsheehanDC

Per a source, Washington offered Seattle a more attractive package of draft picks than Denver did. Additionally, Washington was willing to offer players as well but Seattle made it clear their preference was to trade Wilson to an AFC team

If this was true then at what point does a trade become a bad one? You're going to let go of players and numerous draft picks off a non playoff team for Wilson? Seems like a move of desperation over smarts. We aren't the Rams.

Well, after all, this team is in fact desperate for a quarterback. Whoever it is going to be, this team is 100% going to overpay for him - whatever that means.

Man some of you guys will find the down side of anything lol

I don't think you can put a price on a franchise QB. Denver won this deal hands down.

I tend to agree.

If by a miracle of god Watson becomes free and we land him that be the best one to get, considering his age.

Not sure Russell Wilson makes Denver or Commanders a title contender.

Russ would have made us at least a playoff team, given the QBs in the division. AFC West is going to be a bloodbath with the QB talent they have.

What they are worth, and what the price actually will be, are two separate things.

Everyone knows this team is desperate for a QB, and that will most certainly factor into the price.

I’m not surprised man. I figured Seattle wouldn’t trade him so once that rumor came out the other day I was already over Russ. We’ll get stuck with Mitch or fucking Jimmy GQ

Scott Turner is not bad, he seems a lot like Kevin OcConnell honestly.

No one wants to come to this organization bc every agent and player knows and openly talks abut how this a dysfunctional shit show of an organization and 2 years of Ron hasnt washed the stink of sweaty ball sack that permeates this place.

We are lucky to have Ron.

It really is amazing how even Ron and co. can't wash the stink of this franchise.

They almost literally asked Russ what he thought about DC and he basically gave us the ol' hard pass. It's like the stink of having Snyder as an owner is too much to overcome.

Maybe Snyder can bond with Watson over his favorite rub-n-tug joints. It's our best hope at this point.

If I remember correct, Bruce Allen was widely loathed by agents. People forget how much damage Bruce made (along with his buddy Dan) and like you say it is going to take time to get the stench out.

This.. not to mention no fans coming to the games. Who would want to play home games where the opposing teams fans out number the home fans? Plus you have to put on shitty uniforms and being called Commies..haha..

Why would an agent recommend a team that:

- has dilapidated small facilities and training centers

- head trainer is on FBI's most wanted list

- former players rip us on the way out e.g. Antonio Pierce, Trent Williams, DJ Swearinger, Keenan Robinson, AJ Francis and on and on

- leaked dirt to Schefter during Kirk Cousins negotiations, went public with their "making him the highest paid QB" offer .. only for us to find out later the guaranateed money was horseshit

- leaked personal stuff re Trent Williams

- leaked personal stuff about McCloughan

- never bothered to call agents of players w expiring contracts like Pierre garcon .. just left them hanging

--------------------------------------------

We are a bottom 5 destination.

Agents hate us.We have been incompetent for 20 plus years, pissing off every agent along the way. 2 years of RR aint going to erase the memories.

At least Vinny was liked around the league as an idiot but a happy harmless idiot ... Bruce Allen was a back stabbing snake.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition

“Last Thursday, the day the draft was going to start, I had a meeting with Jim Tomsula, who is one of the best D-line coaches in the history of the league,” Francis said. “He told me that going into OTAs, that he thought I should be the starting nose [tackle]. I balled out.”

On Monday, Francis said he got a call from Redskins director of pro personnel Alex Santos and braced for bad news.

“He’s never once called me for a good thing, ever in his life,” Francis said of Santos. “He barely ever talked to me walking past me in the hallway. And he called me to tell me that they were releasing me. I never got to meet with Bruce Allen, because why would they want to meet with the guy that they’re cutting, other than it’s just common courtesy and respect? I got to shake Doug Williams’s hand — not even eye-to-eye, like walking by. He said, ‘Thanks.’ That whole situation was bungled. That whole situation was terrible. I am so grateful that I’m out of there, because they don’t care about the film. They don’t care about who can actually play football. They only care about themselves.”

I'm not sure it's too much actually.

I would have parted ways with Heinicke, Payne, L Thomas, two firsts, two seconds, and a fifth - for R Wilson and a 4th round pick.

You get your franchise QB and still have five picks this year and five picks next year and all that cap space...

I'm not sure it was worth it either. Everyone is saying Denver won but there is no way you can say that today. However there is no way they can compete in their division w/out a QB.

Mahomes, Herbert, Carr, Willson all in the same division. Nice. When Carr is probably your worst option that is a tough division.

I think Lock is probably regarded as a much better player than TH...lol. Also Thomas will be 31 by the time the season starts coming off an ACL. Fant is much younger so two big differences there.

Had we offered that to Seattle they hang up the phone.

Well, apparently we offered more. I was just using that as a comparative example by position.

What has Lock done that makes him better than TH? He's a couple years younger. Other than that...?

Lock stinks he’s a 1 read guy that isn’t accurate at all.

Denver better win the division in the next 3 years at the very least because they gave up a shit ton for Russ. Even if we did that I’d say we better go to a super bowl , the only difference is Denver ain’t better than KC or LAC

On paper and production I would agree, not better. Actually I watched one of Denver's last games and he was just awful. He has a better arm, that may be it..

I keep saying this. Draft your guy.

The funny thing is Ron has totally changed his tune. He kept using the Bills as an example, let's build and build, it take 3 year and what not...blah blah. Then the name gets changed, the fans react poorly to the rebrand and now he's swinging for the fences trying to make a trade.

Chief X_Phackter 03-08-2022 06:57 PM

Probably because he knows the pressure is on to win now. All this talk about Great Defense last year and it sucked.. well Ron and co. are basically saying the QB held the team back which in most games he did. Problem is, who the hell can they get now?

Watson? Probably not
Jimmy G? He just had surgery today and dude is never healthy for a full season.. so No

Mitch? People got hyped off his one preseason last year… dude has not been good at all (maybe it was the system)

Winston? Probably the best QB available
