I really do hate the name Commanders. Hasn’t grown on me at all. I find myself saying Washington when asked who I root for because I’m embarrassed to say Commanders. I don’t think I have ever said it. It is just over the top terrible. I personally think they will change the name. Definitely not to Redskins or Red anything but my God I could make a list ten miles long of better names than Commanders. Only way I would be down with that name is if we had a guy dominating a woman in some bondage scene on our helmets.

I am indifferent to most names. I personally like names that have a connection to the city: 49ers, Steelers, Packers. The only other name I think actually is kinda cool is Chargers. Some are just dumb Bills for example. Most names are really just generic there is just history behind them.

i costs a bit upfront, but with merchandise sales of the new gear, its a financial windfall if done right. Even Snyder profited from the name change to WFT and then to the Commanders and that process was done HORRIBLY!!

Who cares if a name is intimidating? Not going to make you play better. Like do opponents play worse against teams w/ "scary" names? Uh oh, we can't beat Detroit, because lions are fierce animals. We better forfeit.

Now that you say that I kind of think the Buffalo Bills are intimidating. When your team is named after a serial killer that wears a suit made of female skin that can be freaky. They should wheel out Josh Allen in a Hannibal Lecter mask and a straight jacket during game intros and refer to opposing players as Clarice.

I think most people hate the name because a.) it is not the Redskins or b.) it was not the name they wanted (i.e. Redwolves crowd).

I am sure there are people that don't like the name because it is associated with Snyder, but not as many as the other two groups that I mentioned.

Winning is the key to everything, if this team becomes a consistent winning team, the ownership will be able to do just about anything in terms of the name, change it (along with a new stadium) or keeping it.

The right thing would be the Redskins, but that would take a fight with the NFL I'm sure they won't want. Next best thing would be a NA themed name and unretire the logos. Changing the name to anything else would at least remove Snyder's stench so anything at this point would be more popular/supported than Commanders.

I think most people realize Redskins isn't coming back. I wish people would give that a rest. You can still wear your gear like I do, but it's dead.

I would go to Bravehearts and put the arrow w/ the feather on the helmets. It was the helmet of the mid and late 60's. I'm going back to one of the old uniforms and calling it a day.

This is what Dan should have done. He could have just called it the WFT until he figured something out, and went back to that 60's helmet.

Having a 3 syllable name that you can't make to one syllable is just stupid.

All of the teams that have 3 you can shorten it down... Pats, Jags, Cards, Bucs. Then you got Commanders. The only way to shorten it is Commies. smfh.. Didn't he think of this? Snyder is so stupid. It shocks me that he got to own an NFL team. I seriously hope his mega boat hits a rock like some Titanic shit- and he drowns or is eaten by sharks.

seriously though, if I had a vote, it would be for change; I don't really like the name. I did kind of like Washington Football Team or Washington FC, but I realize it'd probably end up as something else.

The big thing is, you have to change the name BEFORE you start winning titles, otherwise, we'll be stuck with it.

I'm going to put my trust in Theismann, mainly because I actually want the name to change again. The odds of finding something I dislike more than Commanders would be very low. Basically, anything that isn't the Warriors, is no less than just as bad. Tiebreaker goes to not being tied to Dan Snyder. Give me any name that isn't Warriors or Commanders, and it's an upgrade for me personally.

Idk. You know how if the dog shits in the house and even after you clean it the smell lingers? We still have some fumigating to do. Anything that was his idea needs to go. But every day the stench lessens.

I had a friend that lived in Norfolk, VA. His dad was a baptist missionary that would go to the port of Norfolk and preach to people on the ships when they came into port most where from Asia. The van had a vanity plate that said 4NCMEN. I cracked up every time he picked me up in the van.
