Didn’t realize it was that bad. How the Eagles have as much cap as they do is crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Mike Williams has been released. We should look into him.
Given the Anthony Lynn connection, it would not surprise me if he ends up here. Definitely would be nice to have a big wideout added to our receiver group. |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
he is not 2020 d henry; i would have kept gus edwards
Not a chance, 2024 Derrick Henry clears any version of Gus Edwards |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
But he's not going to be RB1, so this is a good situation for Henry. JK Dobbin is RB1 in Baltimore.
JK Dobbins is a FA, and coming off 2 major injuries. Derrick Henry is gonna be RB 1 in Baltimore. He was still 2nd in rushing yards last season |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Titans really gambling on Calvin Ridley.
Thank you, thank you, I'll show myself out. |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
NC I like you but I respectfully disagree.
Kirk owns the biggest comeback in Redskins history and in NFL history. Sure his playoff record sucks but the NFL is a team sport. Team plays as much a role in those losses as he does. His TD-turnover ratio is 3-1. That's better than anyone we've had in the last 30 years. I wouldn't take him back now, but that's because we have the #2 pick and he's 35 years old. We should've paid him when he was due.
He didn't want to be here. He may have said he did, but it was pretty obvious that was never the plan. He had some butthurt over being behind griffin and possibly a couple other things. If we gave him a ridiculous fully guaranteed contract maybe, but that's in the past. Not having alex smith's knee exploded or having Synder actually make the push to sign brees out of SD would have been (historically) bigger swings than handing kirk piles of money to the detriment of the team. |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
for OT, best bet for not overpaying an average player is to get tyron smith on a 1 year deal (old, will miss some games to injury, but a legit LT/blindside blocker).

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
I think Smith goes to KC. Mahomes just freed up oodles of cap space for them. And Smith likely wants a ring.

I wouldn’t touch the Chargers WR that was just cut, but if they release Keenan Allen I’d pick up the phone and just ask

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Some actual tampering. We all know Mara wont let that go.
Dan Graziano Per a league source, the NFL is looking into potential tampering by the Eagles and the Falcons related to the free-agent signings of Saquon Barkley and Kirk Cousins.
|
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Atlanta shipping Ridder out of town:
@RapSheet Sources: Rondale Moore is going to the #Falcons in exchange for Desmond Ridder. |

And he shouldn’t. The Chiefs lost a 3rd round pick for doing that a few years back. Would like to see Philly face plant this way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Fuller to Miami.. I was kinda hoping that we would resign him.

Yeah, wasn't all that expensive either, 2 yr $16.5m. Think he is looking for competitive/playoff football sooner than the timeline is here |

Tackle and Corner best be addressed on day 2.
|

Or day 1.

Shiiiiiiiiiiettt. No, he'll be #1. They ain't paying 9mil guaranteed to be a #2 back. He would have to have a very shitty training camp to move to the #2. Dobbins has played 9 games the past 2 years and coming off an Achilles injury. Nah....he's done. |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start

Yes. A trade back into the first when we have 5 picks on day two is entirely realistic. |

Vikings making moves:
@AdamSchefter Vikings now have announced a draft-pick trade with the Texans: 🏈Vikings receive: No. 23 and No. 232 🏈Texans receive: No. 42, No. 188 and a 2025 2nd-round pick. Minnesota now positioned to potentially pursue a quarterback in round one. |

They'll have move up to get him. Denver will take him at 12 if he's still on the board. |

Vikings already have #11, adding an extra first seems like moving into top 7 territory |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Lotta talk around here about Denver either taking a QB at 12, or moving up to get JJ.

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Wow:
@AdamSchefter Trade: Steelers are sending QB Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles in a pick swap, sources tell ESPN. Once Pittsburgh signed Russell Wilson, Pickett preferred to move on. |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Also, one more tackle in the FA market:
@RapSheet The #Titans have released OT Andre Dillard, who carried a $10.7M cap hit. |

The Bears are either keeping Fields or their asking price is something ridiculous

This draft class seems to be loaded at a number of positions and yet the Texans trade away pick No. 23 which could have brought them a player like Brian Turner, Jr., Amarius Mims, Ernest Rakestraw or another fine prospect. Nope, I don't get it at all. |

Thinking the same thing. They are a win now team. One playmaker could put them over the top. |

OT Smith expected to sign with Jets per nfl.com

1 year, up to $20 mil.
|
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Smith was too much of an injury risk for me.

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
A good young swing tackle with upside to start would be nice, in case a rookie tackle struggles or that they go forward with you know who at RT. A Josh Jones(27) from the Texans or Yosh Nijman(28) from the packers, assuming they dont take a chance on Mekhi Becton type.

Looks like a lot of it is incentive based on playing time, which is smart, but I would prefer other options so kinda glad we didn't get him, though would be interested to know if we were involved with the bidding. |
