Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I wonder if this means we are more likely to pick Downs at 7 if he's available than an edge. I would tend to think so. LB still a possibility too, but edge seems a little less likely.
And I hope this doesn't mean Hendrickson goes somewhere else in our division. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Tua to the Falcons. Honestly, putting aside that he should retire given his scary injury history, playing on turf seems like needless added risk.

I would say yes, we are likely to miss out on the top 3 edge dudes, but the giants signing a lb helps us at that super fast lb guy, plus downs, and that amazing RB. I still think they prioritize edge over those 3 though, even now. But shoring up edge, where we really could use two is a HUGE relief. If only this was done last year when the world was shouting for it. It now put in the possibility of a wr in the draft too, but I don't see where WR ends up being bpa at #7 |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I see that we signed Tim Settle. Welcome back, Tim. With the exception of Tress Way and the subpar stadium, you will recognize nothing and no one.
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Really surprising about fall Tua has taken. Just a couple of years ago that offense was just killing people. Now he was flat out released and being replaced by a career backup.

Love this move. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
We signed former player DT Tim Settle to a 3 year, $24 million deal, that can go up ton$25.5 million.

Me too. Always liked Settle. Good rotation piece for us for sure. Settle, Wise, Armstrong, Oweh, Kinlaw, Newton, and prospects like Drake Jackson and Shy Tuttle -- will be interesting. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I never heard of this guy from the Chargers but I like Oweh as a need. It's an overpay but I don't care. You have got to do something and you now got a couple of guys to help out on defense to go along with Settle and the corner from the Lions.

he was a raven most his career we will see how it goes but i like that we took a swing and won a FA signing battle |

Peters has really stunk with a few of his 2nd rounders in Newton and Sinnott. Really hoping Sinnott gets an opportunity to be our #1 TE this year. I think all he needs is a chance. He was a truck at K State. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I so wonder whether changing up our defensive scheme, and (presumably) getting guys that are better suited to that scheme, will allow us to get more out of some guys that have under-performed (and I would include the 2025 version of Sainristil on that list along with Newton, Kinlaw, and the 2025 version of Luvu).

Your top guys will be hitting 40+ a year now. He's still only 27 so definitely in his prime. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Marcus resigned today , kinda lost in the shuffle but solid signing
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Dowdle is still available. Wonder if we're showing any interest?

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Love Marcus back, fuck it, settle is cool, why he left the building to begin with was prolly just #s...
Otherwise eh, not sure about the edge signing. Dude was just ok and thats a fat price tag.. but hey, what do I know I just post here. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Glad we re-signed Mariota. Settle adds DL depth. Robertson adds some CB depth, but hopefully we’ll add another CB. Oweh adds a pass rush element. We still have needs at WR, LB, C, LG, CB. Still can’t figure out, and dont know why we cut Biadasz.
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Redskins cleared some more Cap Space with the Tunsil signing. My question is why? They already had a massive amount of cap room that they didn't use. With Devin Lloyd now gone I don't see who they could spend it on other than Hendrickson and not sure it would be a good idea to tie up an additional massive contract on an edge rusher with Armstrong coming back.
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
we need to have a big day getting good quality players , we are paper thin at CB, and WR, and at LB jeez and still need a rb and te
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Still a few guys we should be interested in. I'm not convinced on Hendrickson (do GM's think his injury recovery is a big issue?), but if they sign him it's hard to argue its not a ballsy move. I would like to see us go after:
Doubs - obvious really, strengthen the WR room. Chaisson - 2 consecutive good seasons; he or Hendrickson would signal we're not drafting Edge @7. Chenal - fills out LB depth at least, and maybe a good foil if we went after Reese or Styles @ LB? Cross - only 24 and did very well in Indy. Suspect they'll be trying to re-sign him, but worth pursuing. Brisker - if not Cross, then... Newsome II - consistency might be an issue, but he's capable of top play. Adds depth if nothing else. White - 27 so... Good receiving back, and would give us more freedom in the draft. Beyond these guys, plenty of room for improving depth at least, though I expect the depth guys will be picked up once the initial rush is over. Big question - is AP pursuing these guys (and we're not hearing any noise) or is he sitting back and waiting to see who is still available later in the week. Hope its the former. |

I add TE to that list |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I am hoping for some WR and LB help today. I still like the idea of taking Downs at 7.
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Agree. If we get another top/good Edge (Hendrickson?), LB and WR today, then I'd lean into Downs as the pick. But even then, if Reese is still there he'd be hard to overlook for Downs. Choices, choices...

Doubs gone to the Pats

Samuels back? Do we actually want him? Will he come back for a reasonable contract?

I do think we will snag BA when released but that doesn’t really move needle for me. I like the Oweh and Settle signings. That definitely raises the floor of the defense |

Look how the pats have done things in the last two years compared to us If yiu take JD5 out the equation, AP and DQ have done Jack shit |

Dang, out of all WRs, I was hoping that we would sign him. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
We are losing out on players because they don’t want to come here. Is AP not offering enough or are players just not wanting to come here for various reasons?
The fact we have 2 first time coordinators and DQ is somewhat on the hot seat; that could be a reason. WR we know we are signing Ayiuk when he’s released. |

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
The WR room only is a flashing red light, still crickets
Who the fuck is our WR2 and 3 TE nothing there at all We are really rolling out Zach in a wheel chair and Noah brown with his broken kidney , AGAIN FUCKING EMBARRASSING |

WR we know we are signing Ayiuk when he’s released.[/quote] I worry that folks are overreacting to all of this. Doubs just went to a team that made the Superbowl with a QB who could easily have been the 2025 MVP (indeed, lost by a few votes). Oh, and a team that has been the the Superbowl 9 times since we last made it (and won 6). So this shouldn't surprise anyone. It's not like he went to the Browns or Jets over us. Obviously, there more work to do on the roster, and there will be more activity to come. The Colts overpaid for Pierce (in my view) and we lost out on Doubs to a franchise that most guys would be happy to play for. There are other WRs out there (not to mention other positions), and we'll have other opportunities. Candidly, I was more bummed out that the two LB candidates I liked -- Walker and Dean -- both ended up with the Raiders (not a great franchise), but I have no idea whether we made a run at them. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Woolen to the Eagles. Darn. I was hoping they'd not do much beyond get picked over or maybe extend Dotson. Ahh well.
