Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
I like the 3rd rounder. That is where WR's should be taken. Hoping the injury thing is something in the past.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
A good break down on some Antonio Williams. This guy was talking about him days before the draft.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Hoping Williams turns into a reliable guy for us. Feels like we have a bunch of guys at WR now. McLaurin, Lane, Burks, McCaffrey, Brown, Jefferson, and now Williams (and Brooks and Jones from last year’s PS). Only one proven quality starter though. Hope Williams can change that - seems like a similar skill set to McCaffrey in a more compact frame.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Going into the season I'd have no problem with McLaurin, Williams, Burks, McCaffrey and Brown (+ Lane if they carry 6). If we do bring in Aiyuk*, then I say definitely keep 6, with Brown or Lane losing out.
*If 9ers do as expected, I'd go after him as a FA but definitely not a trade. I don't see any remaining FA's that offer an upgrade on what's on the roster already, at lest not a cost effective option. Aside from UDFA's I reckon WR room is set subject to June 1st. |

Center is were the value is likely to be by 147. Hecht, Lew or Brailsford.

2026 Commanders Draft Results
Can’t even watch because of the introductions. Rypien last night was unbearable. These super fans are lucky the draft isn’t in Philly or it would be a bloodbath.
|
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Anez Cooper or Sam Hecht please.

Seriously, was Rypien doing drugs before going on stage? |
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
C'mon Jalon Kilgore. Fall a few more spots.
|
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Benny or Cooper…..
|
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Reckon they had Hecht and Brailsford nailed to their board then had to pivot quickly. Is Josephs BPA?
|
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
No complaints about adding a young pass rusher.
A wish list in the back half of the draft is a Fools Errand. Have a 1% chance of getting the guy you wanted most. |

I imagine this is right -- went straight to their board and he was their BPA. Interesting run on interior OL in the last 25 picks or so. I think CLE scooped a guy they might have drafted the pick before in Brailsford. |
2026 Commanders Draft Results
And lets go to commercial after covering every pick before Washington and come back and start right after Washington.

I took him for the Chargers in the 2nd in a recent mock we did on another forum. I imagine he was BPA on their board and I think its a good pick |

Should have never changed the name. We have received absolutely 0 positive for the change. |
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
ESPN and NFL Network can both suck on the biggest bowl of dicks possible.
It's like we didn't even make a pick. |
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Love the Styles and Williams picks. Cannot coach what athletic traits Styles has and sounds like he's got super range. This defense should be significantly improved with the new additions.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Looks like they just Kaytron Allen from PSU at rb. Stud in college.
|
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Allen is all time leading rusher at Penn St. 5'11" and 216 lbs. Supposed to be physical with great vision and feel for blocks. Strong, tough, and has quick feet. Imagine he'll do well with good rush blocking for time of possession and pounding the rock.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Not sure I get the QB pick, but I guess there were no other guys they liked enough. I'd like to have seen a S, CB, TE or even another WR, but I guess AP sees something in the kid.

I think it is just a need for practice squad. Hard to convince an udfa to sign knowing they won’t see the field from the side line so force them by drafting him |
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Seems like a waste of a pick to me -- we have Mariota and then anything after him is irrelevant as the season will be over at that point, and this guy has the feel of a camp body. I'd rather go find even a kicker or take a flyer on some other position of need.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Feel the center drafted in the 6th rd Matt Gublin was good value. 3 year starter known for being a good pass blocker. Reportedly, he had a 4th rd grade. Hope this kid shows out.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Appears our draft was rated very well...
https://x.com/SharpFootball/status/2048186781644857583 I think it was a solid draft on paper. We'll see how they pan out. |

I'm warming to the Allen pick, as although the RB room looks crowded right now, he could be a good compliment to Bill (assuming he isn't usurped). Thunder and lightning? |
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Really liked the Gulbin pick in the 6th round. I think he competes with Allegretti to start Day 1. For what it’s worth PFF had him graded as the 2nd best C in college.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
The draft reviews seem too uncertain. I’ve seen reviews saying we got the best value and others putting us in bottom third. I saw one that had the panthers next to last (above SF) but the one two posts above had them at second best. It will be a while before we know if any of that goes instant feedback is remotely accurate.
I am looking forward to Styles - crazy good athlete - and see what he can do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Allen will be starting at some point, probably sooner than later.

I counted 10 different players mocked at 7 which is a crazy amount of players for that spot. In reviews of Williams I have seen day 1 starter to a project. IMO still need wr I would like to sign Jauan and be done with it instead of waiting until august first 49ers to release Aiyuk |

I could not believe that he was the all time leading rusher in Penn St history. They have had so many great backs. |

He's had some issues since retiring. He was arrested for hitting his wife or spouse while in the car while it was moving. He admitted to it. He thinks that he has CTE. |

Was thinking it was Ki Jana Carter who was an absolute baller back in the day. I could see Allen having a solid pro career. Like this pick honestly especially with the rd taken.

Don't they have to release him before that? His guarantees have been voided, but isn't he due a roster bonus after 1st June? If this drags on into camp don't they have to pay him salary? Admittedly he'd likely not attend, but if he did and got turned away, would they not still owe him? It feels like they will certainly freeze him out TA and salary wise until 1st June at least, but then it becomes law of diminishing returns (or diminishing punishment) and the principle will start costing them more than just being done with the whole thing. I don't see Jennings offering anything we don't already have in the WR room, and given Aiyuk isn't coming back, the 49ers not re-signing him and drafting Stribling, I question his value to anyone now. While we'd likely have a better WR room with Aiyuk (assuming he's healthy and not a cancer) I can't see them making a move for anyone else now, barring injuries. |

I don't know if they will but they could do that and then potentially not release him until August 1st. They have no reason to help a team in conference by releasing him sooner, but I would also think the optics of being petty would be a red flag. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a post June 1st and then release him on June 2nd. It benefits team and then allows him to move on. Like you said they don't have an incentive to hold him so realistically he will be released close to June 1. If they wanted to stoop to Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen pettiness however... |
Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
I won’t be surprised if they release him relatively soon. If they wait to June 1, it will be obvious that they let it drag out when they didn't need to and that’s not a great look. But this week or next week will give them the cover to say they were focused on UDFAs before making the call. SF has had some issues with player dissatisfaction recently and I imagine they’re not looking to make that worse.
