Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Anyone see the article about the availability of 6'4" WR Michael Clayton from the Bucs? Apparently he's on the roster bubble. Shanahan may be waiting for the bucs to cut him. He has previous ties to Bruce Allen. Bucs are also in need of DLineman so we may send a Jarmon over there who is struggling to fit into the 3-4. Keep an eye on this.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Yeah HH had something about it this morning. Just another role player type of guy though. He's had fewer catches than the previous year for the past few. To think this guy almost had a 1200 yard season and now can't even hit 250..

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
I wouldn't make the trade because he'd keep that nearly 5m a year and we don't need to honor that contract.

Would've sounded interesting about 6 months ago. But now, with 11 WR's -- adding another veteran WR with lack of recent productivity doesn't sound appealing. |

I don't think we are going to give Jarmon up, just not yet.. He's only 1 yr vet.. I believe Shanahan wants to see how he rides through this season before we determine whether if he's worthy or not.. |

I agree, some of these newbies show some promise to boot, then you have Galloway in the mix. Devin looks like a lock and is making great strides also. Kelly and Austin are the big question marks. IF we are going to trade a D linemen, make it count like trade for a 3-4 LB or another DB for depth. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
I still think Kelly makes the team, maybe he's IR'd for the year a la Colt last year but I don't think he's cut
I tend to agree with you. Kelly has too many intangibles (size, hands, potential) to just release at this point. When comparing him to Roydell Williams, Bobby Wade, Terrence Austin, Anthony Armstrong, Kelly's upside is much greater. He may make the team as the 6th WR (Moss, Galloway, Thomas, Austin, Banks, Kelly) and have to work his way up the depth chart but I can't see him being cut over former practice squad guys or players who haven't been in the league for a couple of years. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
The pressure is on Kelly to get on the field and prove his worth. Does Santana still have Galea's phone number?

Just heard on 980 that Mike Furrey received an injury settlement and is done for the year. May have to retire for concussion related issues. That sucks.
