Accepting the law of the land that was the law at that specific time is not the same thing as saying the law could never be changed in the future.

Inject heroin in her body?
Commit suicide?
Get drunk and kill another driver?
or any of a thousand other things that we as human beings have said are not overridden by the collective law of the land.

The false narrative around women and the right to control their own body is astoundingly simplistic.

[B]Human life is the first right, from which all other rights derive.[/B] When a sperm and egg combine and develop, a human life is created, and should be endowed with all the rights, including a right to life. That right should supercede a woman (or man's) right to commit murder through abortion.
