Earlier this year - think the Bengals updated their uni's and it didn't leak until they made the announcement. But then again nobody gives a shit about the Bengals uni update aside from Bengals fans.

French - from a business perspective it would make sense to have the merch ready to get for when the name is announced - why announce the name and then say fans have to wait a couple weeks or so to buy merch? They probably want the shit sitting in boxes at the store so they can put it out as soon as the name is announced.

The RED Is most likely done.. we need to accept that and move on.. The W is actually really clean , as is the G for GB or C for Chicago.. The Cowboys star is used all over the place as well.. Commanders isn't a terrible name, it's better than just WFT

It isn't in my top group of choices, but I'd also be OK with it.

And all military services have Commanders at all levels. They are ultimately responsible for the accomplishment of their respective unit's assigned tasks and missions. Could be as low on the totem pole as a Tank Commander, to as high as the "Commander in Chief".

It's a dumb name for a football team though IMO.

Why is RED done and why do you accept that? That is our history and can continue with some simple tweaks.


Although I loathe them, the Cowboy star is actually very, very cool. Say what you will, but Dallas' images, from the uniforms to the cheerleaders, have always been impressive.

The current W fits in perfectly with the sterile landscape that is FedEx Field. Keep WFT and put a nice, traditional block W in there.

Funny you mention Green Bay, but the aforementioned Lombardi R was designed with the G in mind as obviously Vince had been there.

What's funny is how commentators actually keep saying Redskins by default.

I heard Collingsworth and Michaels do it and then have a laugh. Aikman did it on Thanksgiving until Buck corrected him. And then this past Monday night one of those guys did it.

Force of habit.

Better than when Phil Simms made a bid deal of how he was never going to use it and then proceeded to use it multiple times when he covered the <gasp!> Redskins.

Makes me think this was manufactured outrage from the get go.

Not really as they started in Los Angeles. The Redskins started in Boston and were once the Braves. Doubt they miss them.

Speaking of LA, the Rams would be a good team to elevate to No 1. Better than Commanders. Sucks to ditch your team but that's life after all.

Yeah it does suck and at first I was like F Them I want a new team but after time things get better.. Redskins is in the past and its a great past time. There is no name that will make everyone happy. If the team is winning and the logo is solid with the same great colors, I'm fine with whatever.
