Re: Around the NFL 2013 Offseason (Episode 99)
Just saw this on another forum: The KC Chiefs have not won a game with a QB they drafted since 1987 (Todd Blackledge won one game in 87, was drafted in '83).
Thank you RGIII.
I was curious: Year - Name, Round 2011 - Ricky Stanzi, 7 2006 - Brodie Croyle, 3 2005 - James Killian, 7 1997 - Pat Barnes, 4 1995 - Steve Sternstrom, 4 1994 - Steve Matthews, 7 1992 - Matt Blundin, 2 1989 - Mike Elkins, 2 1988 - Danny McManus, 11 1987 - Doug Hudson, 7 1983 - Todd Blackledge, 1 |
It's insane how much they're paying for players no longer on their roster, or even playing football any more. 38% of their salary cap is going to players not playing. They're fielding a team with $78 million and everyone else (except for us, F...Mara) can spend up to $123 million.
Rolonda McClain is costing them $11million against the cap alone. The team has no talent and no money. Interesting article though...they'll be in good shape next year...like us! The new coach has cleaned house, returning only 10 of 22 starters from last year. Some notable departures: Richard Seymour, Carson Palmer, Tommy Kelly, Michael Huff, Matt Shaughnessy, Desmond Bryant, Phillip Wheeler, Dave Tollefson, Shane Lechler and Darrius Heyward-Bey. Look how well we've done with the $36 million cap hit. We built a Super Bowl contender at that huge disadvantage and next year we'll have $18 million extra to spend over the past two years. We're going to really solidify this team. We'll be able to afford some of the top FAs.
Vic Tafur @VicTafur 14m Per @SI_JimTrotter 's research last night, #Raiders 1st-team defense allowed scores on 16 of 18 possessions this preseason. That's no bueno |

Re: Around the NFL 2013 Offseason (Episode 99)
The raiders are going to be playing for the Jadaveon Clowney sweepstakes. All that dead money and little talent. Its hard to imagine that a team could have been run worse than what Vinny could do. Yet the raiders proved it was possible.

Re: Around the NFL 2013 Offseason (Episode 99)
Fun fact: Vinny's team won more playoff games than Jerry Jones' team during the Cerrato reign.

They'll probably tank just so they get Clowney. Adding him, and then with all the cap space they'll have, they'll probably be much better next season. Especially if they draft well. |
Re: Around the NFL 2013 Offseason (Episode 99)
The Raiders could be one of the worst teams in league history this year. They'll make a good run at 0-16.

Eagles cut DT Antonio Dixon. Wasn't he a guy that caused uproar when we didn't keep him, and the Eagles picked him up before we could put him on the practice squad?

Yes, that's the guy. He's always been just-a-guy IMO. |
Re: Around the NFL 2013 Offseason (Episode 99)
people hype preseaon players WAY too much.
where's cult brennan? chase daniels? all the other preseason must have players over the years? too much hype from watching bottom rung possible nfl players do well against unemployed college players. that said, going 0-fer is very very hard. oakland might have a shot, but it's really difficult not to accidentally win one. |

Chase Daniel is an ankle sprain away from being the starting QB of the KC Chiefs. So there! |
