Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
You think if we go 10-6 and win a playoff game that Snyder would fire Allen to re- kindle any chance of resigning Kirk "Kurt" Cousins? That would be the ultimate irony.
You want to hear numbers? Hear this.
HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE A REDSKIN. Is it that hard to see?
I disagree. (wow, did I really start a post disagreeing with The Schneed? How crazy am I?) I can't imagine that a NFL player can hate a team he's been very successful on (and a city where his child's going to be born) to a point where he'd turn down millions of dollars he'd accept from another team. KC doesn't seem to be an irrational guy. By the way, the optimistics we both were thought the deal would get done at a lot more guaranteed money than 53 M! I said 65, you said "Saturday, 5 years, $25M per, $75M guaranteed." So to me this is just numbers. The offer wasn't high enough... He wants to see if the market says he's worth more. My best hope is that we transition tag him, and match any offer made, so the Redskins would save face and be in a position to say "we didn't overpay him, it's the market price"... But the BA's statement may very well be throwing KC under the bus to a point of no return... |
Solid? You don't know if someone can play until they get the chance. I'd rather roll with Colt this season then if they don't have any confidence Sudfeld can be a starter by the draft next year take a QB. Colt would only be an option for this year and possibly next depending on the results. I'd trade Kirk immediately for anything 3rd round or better.
I would put in Sudfeld and let him get the time in. McCoy isn't the answer, but Sudfeld does have some upside. He alone made Indiana decent. Once he graduated, the Hoosiers became the worst team in the Big Ten again. The guy is big and tall. We need to try and get the kid from Wyoming if possible. |
Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
I think everyone (including myself) needs to calm down. I don't think Cousins hates being a Redskin. I just think he's going to dictate to the Redskins and not vice versa. He probably doesn't trust Allen and Snyder. Would any of you? He's been through all the nonsense. We've seen how they treated Scot. What if we have a bad year and Gruden is blown outta here? He's seen so much bullshit from the Redskins that he probably feels comfortable going year to year and I really don't blame him. The Redskins did this to themselves and KC is taking full advantage of the situation.

Bush league move by the team releasing details about their offer and basically trying to turn the fans against Cousins. I won't blame him at all if he walks next year.

I have defend BA in the past, that was bad. To be honest I am kind of over this team. |

Like was this on purpose?

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
After the debacle with Scot, Allen should have been muzzled. He just needs to shut the fuck up and never be heard from again. Do the Redskins know basic PR 101?

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
Shoulda have listened to McC and got this done last year.

These are the type of things Vinny would do and we now see Bruce doing... Folks this is Dan Snyder, your owner |

Folks this is Dan Snyder, your owner
Duh. Deep in our guts, we all know this to be true. That's why I call BA "Smithers". "Tattaglia's a pimp. He never coulda outfought Santino. But I didn't know until this day, that it was Barzini all along." - Don Vito Corleone |
Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
the only good thing out of this is that next years quarterback is very good and we might hopefully have enough money to keep some free agents, but you guys are right what a shit show we are , i,m 49 years old been a redskins fan for as long as i can remember and i,ve never seen anything like this just makes it harder ever year to be a skins fan...

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
I don't know why anybody would blame Kirk Cousins for doing what he's doing. Have a great year, collect your money, and go to a team next year that conducts itself like a professional organization. This is all a reflection of bad ownership. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to fire the owner. The only way to get rid of Snyder is to not go to home games, don't purchase Redskins stuff, and do a complete boycott. I appreciate his efforts toward keeping the name, but other than that, like MTK said, this is bush league.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
If you want to continue to enjoy hot dogs, perhaps it's best to not know how they're made. The same applies to the Washington Redskins football team. So, as far as I'm concerned, the Skins can just throw a team on the field and I'll root for them like the naive 8 year-old kid I once was. Problem solved.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
I still wouldn't rule out trading Kurt at some point. I think the narrative its only San Fran is bunk.
