That's what the grape vine is telling me as well. I'll probably wait until it comes out on Redbox or Netflix to see it.
Finally saw Iron Man 3 last week. I enjoyed it, it was on par with the other two. Nothing really remarkable about it but regardless I enjoyed seeing it. Also saw whatever the last Die Hard movie was to come (I can't remember the name), also pretty good yet nothing spectacular. If seeing Bruce Willis and his co-star whose name idk kick a bunch of ass is enjoyable for you, go see it. And finally also saw Identity Thief. I thought it was pretty funny, yet an anti-climactic ending kinda dulled my opinion. If you don't mind paying 1.20 to see it through Redbox, check it out.
I also watched IT last week, it was pretty funny but kinda long imo. |
I really enjoy doc's on the war on drugs. I just watched The House I Live In (2012) - IMDb on a plane ride yesterday. gonna watch it again tonight before my rental expires. It gives points of view from the cops, criminals, judges, and prison guards. It's focus is on how the war on drugs is more or less a war on the lower class, and how it actually effects everyone's civil liberties. All in all I think it's a very well done doc and I highly recommend it.
I've been waiting to see this one, also. Thanks for the review. |

DVRed Gone Baby Gone. Lets see if it lives up to the hype.

I agree with this. I do not understand how something could be more messed up than what happened with the main character. Kind of an interesting way to get "revenge" I suppose. |

Anyone catch Sharknado last night? So bad, it's good!

Interesting is a nice way of putting it. :laughing- |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Saw Grown Ups 2. It was bad, putting it nicely. Grown Ups 1 was very funny, with clever jokes and actually somewhat of a plot. This was just horrendous. I feel like my IQ just got worse after sitting through that movie.

Adam sandler isn't funny anymore. I actually hated the 1st one

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
When was Sandler funny at all? His baby talk/half retarded act was dumb right from the start IMO.

A rebellious opinion, I like that! I'm going to disagree with you though on him never being funny. He had some good movies, but SNL wise I agree with you, he wasn't funny to me. Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison are two movies though that are timeless and great. You didn't like them? |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
He was good as Theo's friend on The Cosby Show

The only movie I liked him in was Punch Drunk Love. And alright the Wedding Singer was ok too. |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Had a blast watching Pacific Rim the other night. Had a good blend of cheesy at times with the humor, but the main attraction of giant robots fighting giant monsters was the main draw and it didn't disappoint. Also one of the few times the 3d worked and they did it without a lot of blatant in your face popping out stuff but more so the blended aspect like Avatar and Transformers 3.

Not even remotely that cheesy except the attempts at humor. Thankfully no guys in rubber suits in this one, but as with every movie there's gonna be those who don't like the way some things were done. It felt more like I was watching a live action Gundam or Neon Genesis Evangelion. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
^ I'm talking about the large monsters versus the big robots

Enjoyed Pacific Rim. You can't go wrong with big robots and huge monsters fighting. Good stuff.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
This Matt Damon movie Elysium looks really good and like it would have a lot of potential. Hopefully it is, because there really hasn't been many good sci fi flicks lately.

Oh no he di'int! I liked the one Apatow/Sandler most people hated- Funny People. It seemed as if he was performing in a parody of his own career... I was hoping the film served as a catharsis, leading him in a new direction. Sadly, he's gone completely opposite (have yet to catch the Razzie-sweeping Jack & Jill). And he knows exactly why. |
