More often or not, I'm generally bashing the GOP side of it and it normally is for a good reason. It's because many of these loons simply give me (and others) the ammunition to do so. Corruption I recognize as being rampant among a majority of the politicians on both sides. Stupidity though, seems to consistently come from the right side of things and it generally involves religion.

If what Atkin said the other day didn't do it, check what this high ranking Republican official in MO had to say.
Barnes was quoted by The New York Times saying, "abortion is never an option." Barnes went on to biblically claim that, "If God has chosen to bless this person [the rape victim] with a life, you don’t kill it."
At what point do we start considering these people as mentally ill? What is the difference between nutjobs like this, and guys who take poison to ride off into a comet's trail?

I find it ironic that these same type of "republicans" chirping about how great democracy is, yet really are trying to institute a theocracy with their beliefs governing over people.

Before you get offended, I realize that not all conservatives and religious people are like this woman, but when you have the vast majority of the GOP proposing legislation that backs up what these nutjobs think, it says a lot about the people they represent.

I find it ironic that these same type of "republicans" chirping about how great democracy is, yet really are trying to institute a theocracy with their beliefs governing over people.
FRPLG touched on this, I don't think it's a point of being mentally ill, it's a point of being able to square your belief system with holding elected office and some being far too rigid in their beliefs while governing (wow, we agree again...scary)

I'm Catholic, I'm against abortion. That is my personal belief. In cases of rape, incest, life of the mother it's easy to say life-is-life, it's entirely another to suggest your neice to have a baby from a rape, or your wife have a baby that could cost her life....I don't know if I could do that on a personal level, so I don't think it's fair to ask someone else to do it.

When you sign on to be a politician you have to check your personal belief system at the door to a certain extent and remember you represent all Americans. I agree with Romney's political position on the abortion issue, each state should decide, and rape, incest, life of mother should be an exception.

I don't know Romney's specific position on third trimester but I believe that should be outlawed outside of extreme cases and babies that survive an abortion attempt have to be treated as a life.

Just my :twocents:
Judge Head: "OK. What's going to happen. Now I'm going to tell you my opinion, OK. Obama has put executive orders and whatever other documents his minions have filed. And regardless of whether the Republicans take over the Senate, which I hope they do, he is going to make the United States Congress and he's going to make the Constitution irrelevant. He's got his czars in place that don't answer to anybody. He's got his documents in place. They're going to be irrelevant.

"He is going to do what he wants to do. Now what do you think he is going to try to do in this next term? One of the things, my opinion. One of the things is he's going to try to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United Nations. What do you think the public is going to do when that happens? We are talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, possibly, possibly civil war, OK? Now what happens? What happens? Now I'm not talking just talking riots here and there. I'm talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms, get rid of the dictator. OK, what do you think he is going to do when that happens? He is going to call in the UN troops, personnel carriers, tanks and weapons."
So tired of hearing how the country is going down the crapper or how civilization as we know it is going to end if Obama is re-elected. Didn't we hear this same rhetoric 4 years ago... well we're still all here amazingly enough. If we survived 8 years of dubya something tells me we can make it through Obama.

We hear the same thing every four years no matter who is in office. If Obama wins I might not like it but I'll survive. I will buy a few guns and some additional amo but we will survive.

Could not agree more. Even if all the scare tactics and doomsday scenarios concerning Obama were true, which they're not, he's still only President of a government with checks and balances one of which is a Republican congress.

However with the way the far right describes it you might think Obama was running for King. Granted I support Romney because I think his plan has more potential to get the economy going but Obama's plan isn't going to destroy America. I mean it might get annoying having 10,000 different EPA regulations to follow and an even more complicated tax code but it's certainly not going to destroy us.

I still remind people who said Obama was the anti-christ and how Obama was like Hitler about waht they were saying back then. Don't alk to me about taxes now. You were on some wild out there stuff 4 years ago and now you want a rational discussion? You just prove you will say anything.
