booked a 7 day vacation to Puerto Rico, flying out monday dec 7.

just checked the skins schedule and we play dallas on MNF on dec 7.

thank goodness i bought insurance and can change it. lady will be pissed but shes always pissed about something so it doesnt really matter.

I gave up moving my schedule around the skins. they have sucked too long for me to chnage plans because of them. If I miss it I miss it.

Yeah, im not moving it. My lady would kill me. I was pretending to be a over zealous fan. im a fan of dry humor.

Does suck that I have to grovel and try to fanagle a way to be at a bar for the game. if not, no worries. ill just DVR it and try and go a week without hearing the score.

Here is how I look at it.

For some reason watching every game is some badge of honor for a fan.

Yet I can promise you have seen every game from say 1985 to 2007 (birth year of my son).

Did the Skins every send me anything for the streak of game viewing? Nope. Has giving up religiously spending every Sunday watching the Skins in return for more quality time with my kids giving me anything? Fawk yes!

Just about priorities. Sure if it is a slow Sunday and it is crappy out I will watch but I am not rescheduling shit and changing plans for the Skins.

Now that we have a somewhat nice townhouse in a somewhat nice neighborhood, we have a party every sunday. we made muffalettas, crawfish dirty rice, seafood pouches on grill, etc for new orleans game. homemade cheese steaks for eagles game - wiz wit! this sunday we are doing pulled pork w slaw and carolina style bbq sauce.

my daughter loves it bc we have friends and kids over. i get to talk to my daughter about football. we do this thing where we point to each opposing player on the TV screen and say "i hate you", "i hate you", 'i hate you" etc ... very norman rockwell moment.

The second chair attorney on a fairly large case I am handling is very competent, hard working and intelligent. She also has a rocking body. She wears clothes that are perfectly professional but that show just enough cleavage to be noticeable.

The amount of concentration I must consistently muster to avoid the distraction(s) is exhausting. Some times I am sure I sound like an idiot b/c I am so focused on NOT looking at her tits, I have to ask her to repeat what she said.

I have 22 trees on almost an acre...folks that's a lot of leaves and most are oak. I'm in Quality control at work so speed, efficiency and quality are always on the mind, this year took me 15 hours and actually did a little more on one side of the yard I usually don't.

Needless to say leaves are grinding my gears today. Such a tedious task

Worked until 4:00 a.m. Friday night to draft memo seeking settlement authority based on a last minute attitude change and newly discovered evidence.

Worked three hours Saturday, researching and writing an Alternative Dispute Resolution clause for a settlement that saves the State several hundred thousand hours.

Worked until 10:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. reviewing another attorney's memorandum that she was trying to get filed today.

Have meeting at 2:00 to review another AAG's trial work.

Have an appellate brief due Wednesday which I have barely had time to outline.

NONE OF THE ABOVE GRINDS MY GEARS - just sh** to do that needs doing.

Meeting at 10:00 today to review settlement agreement cancelled by the guy who was brought in to fill the deputy spot rather than promoting me.
- Settlement agreement is for a case involving his assigned client.
- Settlement agreement is for a case he was handling and I was brought in at last minute to 2nd chair;
- In our strategy meeting for the settlement conference, it was decided he would lead the negotiation team;
- Two hours into the settlement, just when it looks like it is going to fail, he turns to me and says "I think you have a better grasp on this than I originally thought. I want you to handle it." Ten hours later, I craft an agreement that gets the job done and which neither party loves, but which is well within the parameters given to us by the client. Walked out with money still in our pocket and without undertaking any more of the plaintiffs' requested capital improvements.
- dumped the drafting of the agreement on another recently hired AAG and myself.

CANCELS 10:00 MEETING BECAUSE CAN'T GET TO WORK ON TIME TO DISCUSS SAID AGREEMENT B/C HE CAN'T EVER F'ING ROLL INTO WORK BEFORE 10:00.

My favorite is when people walk past our house and don't realize I look right out the window when watching TV and can see you do it. One time (admittedly drunk) at around sunset, we saw a neighbors dog dropping a giant deuce a good ten feet onto our property. I put on flip flops, grabbed a paper towel, walked outside, picked up the shit and said, "Hey, wait a second!" and dropped it right in front of them and walked off. Should have thrown it at them.

No one likes these neighbors anyway, so I was willing to deal with the awkwardness after that. :)

chico - i have so many empty jars i dont know what to do with them.

malcolm - almost exact situation. i have an end townhouse and along the pathway next to my house there is a ton of dog poop, same size (medium) and consistency etc.

a couple weekends ago im watching tv and through my backdoor i see a medium size dog take a squat kinda on my property kinda not. the guy has no indication of picking it up. i walk out and ask if he needs a bag. he says no and produces one.

2 days ago, i had a medium size poop right behind my car.

today i walk out and there are 2 medium size poops within 5 feet of my front door (def on my property).

i dont know what my response should be. i could easily smash this guy but at 37 im not trying to go that route. i could put all my dogs poop on his front door but that is just asking for a continual cycle of poop related retaliations.

ive decided (if i can pull this off), to approach him in a friendly "hey neighbor i have a 3 year old, there are a ton of kids in the neighborhood, can you please pick up after your dog".

pretty sure when i catch him i am going to curse him and probably punch him. once.

I am literally going to lose my shit if one more person tries to set up a lunch (12PM-1PM) meeting with me. If there is one holy hour in my work day, it is that. It's MY time mother fuckers, and I get so annoyed when people will email me and say, "Hey, I won't be in my office from around noon to one, so if you could stop by and fix problem __________, that would be great."

If you are seriously busy ALL damn day, I would understand that. A little background, my town is small, so it's easy to get off-campus and easy to get to my house (about 5-7 minute drive). It's nice to go home with the wife, enjoy some lunch/work out and then come back. To the people requesting these appointments, I'm sorry you choose not to leave the building. More than one person has seemed seriously put out when I tell them, "I'm unavailable from noon to one."

Am I being whiny? But of course! Today was just the last straw as I'm literally heading out the door and someone was like, "Hey, I know we had a 2PM appointment, but I'm here early, can we meet now?"

Our office is in an office building and we share a common bathroom with about 10 other companies.

Fortunately, the dudes from a printing business on our floor who twillight as taxi drivers light the bathroom up for us. No shame in their game, they bring it everyday. And since we are on the ground floor, we also get to share the bathroom with random customers from a deli place.
