Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
I just really really hope this is resolved before the draft. 17 days to figure it out.
Yes my hope also. He wants out and we need more players. The draft gives us the best opportunity. Need to move him now. I will be disappointed if he's not moved prior to the draft.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Too bad he didn’t offer to swap Hopkins for a Williams. Heck, he might have even thrown in a pick. Sigh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I doubt it will be. I think we'll see an offer made for Trent for a 2nd day or later picks/player once there's a run on tackles in the draft. |

At this point, I'd take a 3rd and a player depending on who the player is, but I think 5 OTs go in the first round. I also believe that they have a tentative agreement in place with a team dependent on which OTs go in the first 40 picks or so. Like if Tampa doesn't go OT in the first I could see them giving their 2nd for him. Or Minnesota same thing. |

Because of the 5 tackles, we may not even have a trade partner. If I were a GM and my team needed a LT I'd rather draft one of the top guys and get him on a rookie deal for several years. I'd rather do that over dealing w/ a old, broken down malcontent and his stupid ass agent. TW may have no choice but to suck up his wounded pride and come back here with his tail between his legs. |

I think Trent has to go to a contender that doesn't hit on a draft pick. I really think the options to trade him are limited, what the Redskins want and what Trent wants eliminate a lot of teams. |

Remember the "helmet doesn't fit" debacle last year? He'll show up but won't play for whatever stupid reason he comes up with. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
This whole situation is a joke, the fact that there was reports the browns offered two picks for him and we said no?! WTF now we are stuck in this spot again this yr with a new regime...

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
If the Jets offer their two 3rd rounders I'm all over that, previously I said that's not enough but we've gotta move on from this already. I can't imagine Rivera wants to deal with this much longer.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
I just don't see anyone doing that now. They all know the skins are screwed because Trent says he will not play for us anymore. I would take just 1 3rd now F it.. See ya later

Welcome to the club! That would be considered a great haul to me at this point. Get er done! |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
I still think Trent doesnt report until week 8, if he is not traded or renewed.
get what you can. Comp pick is a back end 5th. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
No more signing guys with any non guaranteed years at the end. Clearly players are signing those to get all their money asap with no intention of playing out the whole contract. Gotta dangle that carrot every year.

Amen. Albert Haynesworth ... how we didnt learn from that front loaded deal is beyond me. I still 100% think he and his agent had every intent of forcing himself out of the contract after the 18 months or whatever it was for all that guaranteed money ... when they signed the contract. They signed that with bad faith. ---------------- One possible way to correct the problem (and teams do this all the time to create current cap space) ... just convert some salary now to guaranteed money on the back end. If its for a vet you know you want to keep for the lifetime of the contract anyway, then theres no harm (unless that player suffers a career ending injury) .. in which case you would have to do a medical settlement/release anyway. |

I agree, keep in mind most teams interested in trading for Trent want to agree to a contract extension. I doubt an extension will be agreed upon in a last-second trade- thus decreasing his value |
