Ravens | Team lands Pryce
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 15:26:19 -0800

ESPN.com's John Clayton and Len Pasquarelli report the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a five-year, $25 million contract with free agent DE Trevor Pryce (Broncos). Included in the deal for Pryce is $10 million of guarantees.

they paid more money for a older DL guy than the one they lost. will he play DE or DT for them?

Vikings | C. Taylor signed

Mark Craig, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent RB Chester Taylor (Ravens). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vikings | Leber signed
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 17:29:50 -0800

Mark Craig, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent LB Ben Leber (Chargers). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

they also got longwell. chester isn't exactly the a1 feature back you want and ditching daunte and B williams is a mistake, but they are making a couple decent moves... they seem to be shooting straight for the 2nd tier of FA though. Being cheap i guess.

That sucks that they got Leber. Not that I was hell bent on getting him but its nice to have options.

Taylor is a pretty decent back. Sure, he's no LT or even a Portis, but considering who the Vikes have... Brittle Bennett, The Whizzinator, and Less Is Moore... yeah, Chester is a huge upgrade IMO.

I'm fairly surprised the Ravens let him get away. Sometimes I think Billick is so stubborn he'd rather lose than give up on one of his "guys".

last year they paid 3mill extra to keep him (the browns bumped an offer to him just to screw with the ravens and so the ravens had to match it, since they didn't have any plan B).

when he started last year he looked pretty unimpressive. I figured the vikes would draft an rb since there are 9 potential starters this year (maurice drew and leon washington being the most under rated).

Maybe Minnetonka just wants to have the most convoluted RBBC in all of fantasy football history. They know Shanny will be fielding another 4 headed monster so they're upping the ante and going for a 5-man rotation.

"Okay guys, I just need each of you to rush for 20 yards."

Joe Jurevicius to the browns really pisses me off. I thought he wouldn't leave seattle. Man this sucks. He was my favorite FA WR. We had a shot at him if we wanted him.

Man this is wrong. Its the first day of free agency and none of the headlines on ESPN.com feature the Redskins

Lenny Pasta is at an all-you-can eat buffet right now, so he hasn't had time to rush back and start bitching about Snyder's latest insidious attempt to buy the Lombardi trophy.

Give it time.

By the way this isn't looking good

Antwaan Randle El, WR Potential Suitors: Bears, Redskins, Cardinals, Eagles, Broncos, Patriots
Most Likely Destination: Bears
Randle El didn't have huge numbers last year - 35 catches for 558 yards and one touchdown -- but he's known for his versatility as a receiver, returner and emergency quarterback. His value went up after his beautiful touchdown bomb to Hines Ward in the Super Bowl. A Chicago native, Randle El has said he'd like to play at home. The Bears, however, haven't expressed much
interest in him yet. There's also a chance he could return to Steelers.

Adam Archuleta, S Potential Suitors: Redskins, Bears
Most Likely Destination: Bears
Look for some team to use Archuleta like the Steelers use Troy Polamalu -- a big hitter who often moves up to the line to disrupt defenses. Bears coach Lovie Smith was a coordinator in St. Louis and will likely talk with Archuleta. It feels like the hard-hitting strong safety has been around a while, but he has just five years of wear and tear in the NFL.

LaVar Arrington, LB Potential Suitors: Giants, Eagles, Browns
Most Likely Destination: Giants
Arrington was so anxious to hit the free-agent market, he agreed to forego $4.4 million of his salary from the Redskins. The former Pro Bowler didn't play consistently under Joe Gibbs last season even though Arrington was healthy. Many question Arrington's ability to maintain discipline in a defensive scheme. Still, several teams are in the market for an outside linebacker, and it's hard to match the 27-year-old's athleticism and ability.

David Givens, WR Potential Suitors: Browns, Browns, Giants, Titans, Patriots, Redskins
Most Likely Destination: Browns
Givens, a seventh-round pick in 2002, was playing for peanuts in New England and managed to shine despite the spread-out nature of the Patriots' offense. Last season he caught 59 passes for 738 yards despite missing three games with a knee injury. Browns coach Romeo Crennel knows Givens from New England and is expected to make a strong run at the talented wide receiver.

F'n Bears stealing our Free Agents and Stinkin Giants taking our LB's we can't afford or don't wanna play for us. Apparently SI hasn't seen Synders checkbook.

I heard Lavar was in Miami. I still don't think he'll be a giant or is it that I really don't want him to be a Giant.
