We did acquire Kenny Wright. Gee great. Was he really an upgrade over Walt Harris? Seems to me they're basically the same player.

There's plenty of blame to go around. The defense played like a bunch of scrubs, I knew Tiki would give them trouble, but Eli throwing deep all day was inexcusable. Every one of the d backs spent some time in the toaster yesterday. It was just ugly.

The offense was terrible mostly because the O Line let the Giants D get into the backfield the whole day. As for Brunell...he looked like Brunell when he's under pressure. Horrid. Clinton had about 4 a carry, but it didn't matter cause they couldn't throw. It was a team loss. There's no one person to blame.

Amen! I did not like it when this broke in the media last week, and it seemed very uncharacteristic of a Joe Gibbs coached team, for that type of stuff to occur. Why take shots at Arrington now? It seemed unnecessary to me, and given how bad the defence has played all effort needs to be on fixing the problems with the D. I am not an Arrington fan by any stretch of the imagination, I even thought what Lindsey said was funny, but inappropriate, and Williams and Gibbs need to reign in the assitant coaches. Get the players ready and let things be settled on the field, not by the media.

That game was putrid, but certainly the offensive line, and the entire defence were more rotten than the rest of the team. It is going to be a long season at this rate, and if this team does not focus and have the same level of intensity as the Jacksonville game this could easily be a 10+ loss, 0 - 6 in the NFC East season. This team does not have the talent were they can over look anyone, and after the fight the Titans put up in Indy, the Skins better be ready, or they will lose again this weekend.

I voted for the whole team, but in reality it was the DBs lined up 15 yards off the line of scrimmage every 3rd down giving everything away. Whosever decision that was is the culprit. Because they never needed to punt until the 4th quarter, and there was always a long separation between offensive possessions, the offense never got untracked. (It wasn't the only thing, but it was a great contributor.) And every time they showed the receivers, they weren't open. That's not the fault of the receivers, that's the fault of calling too many long patterns when the Giants were making sure the receivers were covered up top. If they had just run some patterns where they came back the DBs couldn't have gotten between them and the ball.
The problem was (mostly) the coaches on this one. (See also: starting with runs, not going for it on 4th and 1,...)

nah you know what?

the defense has been struggling, there are reasons for it, and everyone knew it coming in.

but what's the offense's excuse? who's hurt? didn't we 'find our identity' last game? didn't we just add playmakers to the already productive team from last season??

our defense is hurting, no surprise. the offense needed to keep them off the field by completing some 3rd downs and sustaining some drives with all the 'upgrades' we did this offseason.

this game was blown by the OFFENSE. the O-Line not only didn't protect Brunell, it also couldn't open up lanes for Portis. after pushing around Jacksonville's Dline?? absolutely unacceptable for this squad, and the biggest reason we lost this game.

I hope Sean Taylor really didn't do this. He had a terrible game yesterday.

Taylor and Rich Seubert, in as a tight end on the three plays, had a shouting match after the game.
"Watch the tape and see what you think," Seubert said when asked about the scuffle.
Running back Brandon Jacobs stepped in as peacemaker, but admits he's not a fan of Taylor's.
"He's supposed to be a hard-hitting safety," Jacobs said, "and he is to itty-bitty backs, you know.
"He's good, I respect him, but I can't see myself taking anything from him."
"They tried to get some cheap shots in at the end," center Shaun O'Hara said. "I'm not going to say the Washington Redskins are a dirty team. But sometimes losing shows your character."
Taylor had no comment on the incidents.

If he didn't get flagged or fined for anything, who cares? Everyone already knows Taylor is a bit of a punk, but even with as bad as the team played as a whole yesterday, he was the only one who actually tried to make some plays on the defense. I couldn't care less about a mild scuffle or some smack talking if it didn't cost him or the team anything. And I think he was smart, not to comment on it after the game.

1. Mark Brunnel for not throwing over 100 yards.
2. Offensive line for not protecting Brunnel.
3. The secondary for not covering anyone.
4. Joe Gibbs for not go for it on 4th and one.

I'm just going to have to be ignorant, but I've had my fill of Brunnel. Its not this one performance, its an accumulation of lame duck performances going back to when he joined the Skins. He was a weak armed quarterback when he joined the Skins and has gotten worse. He cannot or will not throw the ball downfield. Worthless as a quarterback can be. He was a lame duck in the playoffs and has continued that this year. He had good numbers against the Texans and Jaguars but he was throwing dinks and dunks and his backs and receivers was padding his stats. Teams that have a book on him (Cowboys, Giants and Eagles), don't let him get away with that crap. The Skins are only as good as Brunnel plays and right now they stink.

His actions guarantee that we'll always get calls for personal fouls and unnecessary roughness. That said, he was burned badly on several pass plays yesterday and missed some tackles. It wasn't ST's best game.

I agree that it wasn't his best game, but he also forced a fumble from a back who's made a point to not fumble in several hundred touches. And I think he solidified getting BS personal foul call when he spit on Micheal Pittman last year.

The thing with Sean Taylor is, the coaching staff has to find a balance between letting him loose and reigning him in. What's the point of having a mad dog on defense if you want him to be a choir boy? As I said, I couldn't care less that he gets into minor scraps, as long as it doesn't result in penalties or suspensions.
