EEEEEAAAASSYY, fellas! :stop:

Let's not get into a flame war over David Boston. The guy's caused problems for enough people as it is!

Besides, the topic of this thread is the Redskins' interest in Ogunleye. I understand Boston's impact on trade possibilities, but let's try to keep this focused on the how and why of acquiring Ogunleye.

Redskins_P 06-22-2004 03:17 PM

I just hope we get Ogunleye. That's all I care about.

F-Boston and all this crap you guys are arguing about.

illdefined 06-22-2004 04:46 PM

here here. the skins pass rush absence is what we should really be caring about. how many years now has it been since they really did anything about it? since Bruce Smith?? obviously Joe Gibbs felt it was worth a first round, good so did i. i say throw in Wynn and even Gardner if need be to make it happen. the worst part now is waiting.

the front of the PFC or whatever the other thread is about, the home page for that sez that the dolphins arent interested in a trade, so that pretty much ends that

Well of course the Dolphins are going to say they're not interested in a trade. They have to at least pretend they want to keep Ogunleye to drive his price up.

Big C 06-22-2004 05:25 PM

never know these days

Redskins8588 06-22-2004 05:27 PM

"The Times' Jody Foldesy reports that the Redskins are hoping to strike a deal for Dolphins defensive end Adewale Ogunleye. A source told Foldesy that the Redskins are willing to trade a first-round pick for Ogunleye."

This is from foxsports.com, is there any truth to this?? I thought we traded our 1st round pick already, but maybe not? Just thought you guys might want to see this rumor

Big C 06-22-2004 05:28 PM

we traded our 2nd for Cooley, but we still have our first

illdefined 06-22-2004 05:51 PM
we traded our 2nd for Cooley, but we still have our first
this is the chance to finally do something about our super suspect defensive line. can we really go another season without doing something about it? football is a game won and lost on the line, but the Skins have only looked at one side of it for far too long. we got Gibbs back, where's Mann and Manley??? (ok, no one answer that last one)

'Wale is a standup guy personality wise. smart, down to earth, the kinda guy Gibbs could really go for. lets sign him up long term (thats what he wants) and start purging our offensive excess (QB,WR)

skinsfanthru&thru 06-22-2004 06:22 PM

i just heard the sports guy on the news say that there's big news for redskins fans coming up after the commercial so cross your fingers everyone.

skinsfanthru&thru 06-22-2004 06:26 PM

nevermind it was just about the preseason tv schedule :( but on the good side Gibbs will be on to talk before each game.

SKINSnCANES 06-22-2004 10:58 PM

really, sweet. Id love for him to tell us about where the after game party will be when we crush whoever we are playing.

Plus it will be a nice change from hearing all the commentators say how much is wrong with Spurrier and the team.

MonkManiac 06-23-2004 09:25 AM

From today's Washington Post:

Redskins Notes: Gibbs said the team remains open to adding players but is not pursuing any trades or signings at this time, refuting reports of a potential deal with Miami for pass rusher Adewale Ogunleye. "We're not pursuing anybody," Gibbs said. League sources maintain Ogunleye has not been made available for a trade and the Dolphins have no intention of moving the un-signed restricted free agent at this time. .

SKINSnCANES 06-23-2004 09:32 AM

well. If we were to trade our first round pick for next year I guess we wouldnt hvae to deal with all this potentail hold out crap, or players not having an agent. Thats a plus.

MTK 06-23-2004 09:41 AM

I don't have a problem with dealing next years #1, but what is concerning is how much $$ it's going to take to sign this guy and the long term ramifications it will have on the cap.

I'm not ruling anything out, but if I had to bet I'd say a deal won't happen.
