GIGGIDY! Well, Matty's post shows that he is still injured (failed physical) so I'm going to have to back away from him unless we're talking SMALL money. I have no problem giving him 1 mil with huge incentives. |
Re: Simeon Rice released by Bucs
Failing a team physical doesn't necessarily mean much. Physicals are very subjective and while he "failed" the Bucs physical he could easily pass another team's exam.

Re: simeon rice
Let's sign him, but only for vet min.
My concern about the defensive line is young depth. I hope that Justin Hickman shows a lot and either makes the team or stays with us on the practice squad. Simeon Rice is someone we don't need. Renaldo Wynn is healthy and ready to roll. M. Washington and A. Carter are at defensive end in passing situations. Montgomery might be a star in the making. Golston is looking great. Philip Daniels is healthy. We have other good players on the line.
Are you serious? Philip Daniels?, Renaldo Wynn?.They suck ass!!! Simeon Rice is better than both of them put together. When has wynn or daniels posted double digit sacks? We should sign Rice but not to a big contract. |

That's actually a good point. So let's get him in for a workout and physical! |
Re: Simeon Rice released by Bucs
I know it's not going to happen. But I would really like us to sign him. Our D-Line is by far our weakest position and there is no one even close to him available. Personally I think it would be a good pick up.

Re: Simeon Rice released by Bucs
John Clayton is reporting Washington as a likely suitor and place for him to end up. I have no problem with him getting on the roster, getting healthy and playing on passing downs for us. What could it possibly hurt, and he's not going to be asking for a big contract, especially the way he was released.

Re: Simeon Rice released by Bucs
I feel really good about our defensive situation this year. Particularly Golston and Montgomery. I think the fact that we didn't go out and draft or trade for any lineman has to make these guys feel good.

You must be high! Golston is a solid backup, not a starter....and Montgomery wouldv'e been cut last year if he wasn't a young draft pick....I hear good things...but the way they were last year....yikes... If we cant improve on DT...we need to do it at end. A MLB aint gunna do the job of a DT. and a LB aint gunna do the job of a pass rushing end. We need Rice, or Strahan or someone that can sack someone. If we've got 2 linebackers doing the job of 2 DLine, that means were essentially playing with 9 players on D! UGH! |

Some quick snippets from Joe Gibbs' post-practice press conference. Asked if the Redskins had any interest in recently released defensive end Simeon Rice, he said simply, "No." Practice Blog: July 27 |

SO that means that we probably are interested. |
