thank you Thank you.the skins have no real direction.Joe does not seem himself. There is no front office. There are no checks at redskin park.its bad and will get real bad.those games last year at the end they were 3-9.draft no lineman at all.THATS WRONG.i love the skins but this is bad.
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
At certain positions we need consistency. Like QB. We know JC is the guy. Our o-line is coming off a solid season so we know they can play. RB we are set. But at D-line, back-up qb, linebacker, kicker, wr and secondary guys should not be handed jobs. That's just how I see it. Competition makes everyone better. If that's stupid then so be it. We were 5-11. Not 11-5. Jeez.
And you're thinking that Bramlet is the guy to turn this around...even though he has 0 NFL experience? |
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
Have to agree with you there. Coach Gibbs and AS would not have done that before the preseason games started this unless the kid really sucked. I am pulling for Palmer to replace Collins for sure!!!!!!!
When I first saw this thread, I was like....oh crap...stuck with 2 old timers again...but then I realized....correct me if I'm wrong...but Bramlet was on the squad briefly in January and presumably got a detailed look by the coaching staff... And though I, too, wish Bramlet became great and was our permanant backup...he just must not have much upside, otherwise, they wouldv'e kept him over a 6th rounder or a perinial old backup in Collins. The truth is it takes a couple years to develop a rookie qb....especially a non-starter due to lack of reps...if we keep Palmer, we will likely have him on the practice squad year 1 and on the team year 2 as the 3rd stringer...only in year 3 would he possibly be a 2nd stringer. So...the decision has likely already been made here. On the other hand, if they kept Bramlet, he should be good enough for number 2 by next year...and based on the fact he hardly knows the playbook and the fact that the Skins already saw his skills before and sent him to Europe....I'm pretty sure they think his upside aint much better than it is now....no upside....good bye. I wish Bramlet all the best...as long as he doesn't succeed in the NFC East. |
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
WTF!!!!!! The Skins FO is retarded! Why the fuck would we wanna keep Collins? HE FUCKING SUCKS!!!!! My 4 year old could run and offense better than him. Bramlet will go somewhere and believe me, in 2 years we will be crying over the fact that we let him go.

Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
[sarcasm]I don't know, Gibbs and Saunders seem hell bent on destroying this team. What the heck do they know about QB evaluation? Bramlet was the real deal. The success of the entire franchise just got released. That's it, I'm selling my prized 1991 Redskins jumbo popcorn bottle.[/sarcasm]
Sometimes I think some of you guys are just confused Dallas fans. |
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
Eh, I don't see either one of these guys going very far in the pros (I hope karma doesn't slap me for that). I could see them being solid 2nd stringers though.

Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
I dont know what anyone else saw, but I watched the entire NFLE this season and Bramlet was great. Agreed, NFLE's competition is weaker but, Bramlet seemed to have a lot to build on. Cool as a cucumber in the clutch and can throw and MEAN deep ball. We cant really say that about Collins or Brunell, niether of which can throw the ball more than 15 yards it seems like to me. Brunell is dead to me. He is about as useless as a moldy sack of potatos, and dont even get me started on Mr. Collins. That shithead should NEVER see the field unless he's playing for the Texans or something. Whereas Brunell will throw the ball away towards the sidelines, Collins like throwing the ball away to D-Lineman and hoping they dont catch it. Fuck Todd Collins.
Bramlet owns. |
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
A 5th stringer owns?
 I feel like I'm in the twilight zone lately. Seriously what's wrong with The Warpath? This place needs an enema. |

Just like we would be crying over ramsey right? How in the world can you get this bent out of shape over a guy that no one wanted, so he was banished to Europe? So believe me, in 2 years, we'll be saying Bramlet who? If he was THAT talented someone would have picked up on it, but i guess you know better than the all the scouts out there. |

I'm really hoping that people got up this morning and decided to be as wrong as they possibly could about football related issues in an attempt to drive me and my self righteous ass to the verge of insanity. If this was the case, then kudos to you all for such a great job, and please stop. If not, then please stop. I hate to go off on you people because y'all seem like a great group...but arrrrrggh its the preseason. This is not the time to be making me hate football. / end rant. |
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
I know it sounds stupid but I have been out to a couple practices. I'm telling you Brunell's arm is so done. He can't even throw a 15 yard out. I don't care how much experience you have, if you can not put any zip on the ball you need to be cut. And Palmer looked real lost. Bramlett looked like he belongs. He doesn't throw it like JC but he wasn't missing guys either. He's looked pretty accurate.
I'm by no means qualified as any of the coaches but I'm really starting to wonder what they are looking at. I know Brunell has experience and I know Collins knows the offense but Bramlett looked better than both of them. So it comes down to the BS politics. Gibbs likes his guy and Sanders likes his guy and so on. If I were the owner, I would demand that the coaches have more competition at all the positions. RB, back-up QB, D-line, corner-back, safety opposite Taylor and WR. It seems everyone has their positions nailed down and this team is 5-11?? That makes no sense to me.
I saw Bramlett play and I have to say I wasn't overly impressed, but you do make some very valid points, I do think Gibbs, and Saunders are married to there guy's, whether or not Bramlett can cut it who really knows at this point, I will take your word that he looked good in practice comparatively, but we all know neither Brunell or Collins can cut it, so why bother keeping them around? What purpose are they going to serve, make coaches out of them if they are so smart, it's not like anyone else is going consider playing them. If Bramlett is not the answer we should have more than just Palmer as the future backup plan at QB. |
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
its this simple. Campbell is the starter. a very GREEN starter. to have anyone but an experienced qback back him up would be very, very, foolish. and Bramlet? come on guys. I'm with gtripp. i cant believe this thread merits 5 pages, and counting
|
Re: Report: Redskins Release Casey Bramlet
I still think the status quo is what we'll be working with, even though Palmer was impressive in the scrimmage.
If Campbell goes down before the middle of the year, the season is over. I think Brunell has 5-6 good games in him as a back up, but no more than that. |
And you're thinking that Bramlet is the guy to turn this around...even though he has 0 NFL experience?
No. I'm not saying he is the guy to turn anything around. All I'm saying is from what I saw just from two practices he looks better than Brunell and Palmer. Now I'm not saying he is a great QB or anything. Hell, he may suck. But the point I'm trying to make is why is it that so many guys on a 5-11 team have their positions nailed down? Can someone ask me why we have no competition at the back-up qb position? If we had any other coaching staff I bet there would be. Also at WR. ARE, Lloyd and Thrash should all be battleling for the #2. No one on the roster has proven they can be a #2. But it's reported that it's ARE job. For what? Did Goldston show enough to be nailed down as the stater for the other DT opposite Griff? Hell no he didn't. So again that job should be open for competition. |
