Re: Its time for joe to step down.
Injuries had little to do w/ the game today IMO. Losing ST was big but he's only one player and Praylow is a veteran. We lost because we couldn't get in the endzone when it mattered, because of horrific clock management, and because we're generally-speaking the sloppiest, most disorganized team in professional football. That's all coaching. IMO.
How was the clock management horrific today? Could you cite specific examples? |
Re: Its time for joe to step down.
What explains last season then?
Injuries. Lost Portis for the season, Santana was hurt last year, transition from Brunell to Jason Campbell, and our defense collapsing last season. That is what explains last season. |
Re: Its time for joe to step down.
Looks like we're basically a .500 team. We can beat (barely) teams like the Dolphins, Jets and Cardinals who can't beat anyone. We hang tough with tough teams but usually blow the games late (Giants, Packers, Eagles). Some of the late-game disasters fall on the shoulders of the coaches - especially Gregg Williams.
If we finish 8-8, it will be an improvement over last year but a regression from 2005. And, it will be time for some of the top coaches to let someone else give it a try. |
Re: Its time for joe to step down.
Just kidding, dude. You're fine. Very predictable theme here....another skins loss, another "Gibbs-must-go" thread. At that point, Gibbs lovers deflect attention from Gibbs' inadequacies and start to focus on spelling errors and question the character of Gibbs doubters.
Had a very interesting incident in one of the threads after the Pats debacle where the Gibbs must go thread morphed into an attack on a forum member's character and marital fidelity.
i actually knew you were kidding but said to myself "what a dick!" haha took me a minute to figure out how to respond to that knowing i dont use caps and ignore periods and commas. |
Re: Its time for joe to step down.
it is time to move in a different direction with the coach. keep GW and its time to offer a decent OC a head coach position

Re: Its time for joe to step down.
And jsarno guy is right, injuries will kill a team. Be thankful for 5-4, instead of 0-9.
Exactly...let's look at this objectively. We lost Thomas / Jansen / Rogers and Moss for most games, and Taylor here lately...all of whom are pro bowl caliber players. We've lost more than that, but those are HUGE losses that are extremely difficult to overcome. I don't like the way is conservative most of the time, but he's gotten better and he is in no way the problem here...he's done a good job with what he's had to work with. |
Re: Its time for joe to step down.
First off, who the heck is Praylow? Secondly, it's funny how you completely ignore all the mistakes the defense made.
Praylow is the guy with the funny last name, which I refuse to try to spell correctly because I don't want to look it up. Secondly, mistakes on defense are part of "generally speaking the sloppiest, most disorganized team in professional football." Penalty after penalty (on both sides of the ball) is sloppy and disorganized. Defense caving in when ONE FRIGGIN GUY goes out w/ an injury is sloppy and disorganized. IMO. |

He probably thinks your last name is funny... |

We blew two TO's in second half that would have come in quite handy w/ 2:31 left on a last ditch drive. Also called a TO earlier w/ 2:06 on the clock that seemed to only benefit Philly. |

No, you're too lazy to look up Prioleau. Secondly, besides Betts putting the ball on the ground, the offense was quite organized today. |

He probably can't spell my last name either, even though it only has four letters. Wait.. my last name on the site is Fan, that's only three letters. |

Calling time out to avoid running a bad play doesn't have anything to do with clock management. |

I am actually still in Gibbs corner but.... TO instead of a delay of game penalty right before trying a 23 yd fg. Several instances of not getting plays in quick enough. Too many men on defense. Not the worst game but it still hurt. |
Re: Its time for joe to step down.
So I just came to the warpath to check in on you all, and this is the first thread I see lol. typical
