Re: Impressive rookies
I hate to speculate too much but Chris Horton might have some issues with this colon infection that he has. I guess lets hope its just somthing that he can get over completly and not somthing thats going to limit him this season.
Also excellent verb choice by Zorn: "grated on him" -- HORTON BACK Chris Horton developed a colon infection last week and he missed Saturday's preseason game against the Bills. Horton returned to practice on Monday, but remained limited in work. "It has been a prolonged [ailment] and it has really grated on him," Jim Zorn said. The team is expected to work him back into the lineup and he could be available to play in this Saturday's preseason game. Re: Impressive rookies
I can't wait until Saturday's game with the Jets! I hope all the rookies keep playing as well as they have in the first two games. I want to see Horton again, as well as the second string offensive line. I'm kind of surprised that Brennan will be the fourth quarterback in for the Redskins.

Re: Impressive rookies
I thought Tryon played his worse game of the season. I am suprised that there were'nt more people bashing him. I tried to overlook last week, but he was bad this week, on many plays. I think Richardson will move ahead of him on the depth chart.

I won't hold back. Tryon was a bad pick at $4 round. He has sucked in game 1, 2 and 3. Richardson should make the roster over Tryon easily, |
Re: Impressive rookies
Andrew Crummey and Justin Goode will be tough to cut....I hope we can keep them somehow. As far as Tryon goes, he has been disappointing. I'm not counting him out though, he has two games left to show what he's got.

My assumption is, both will earn PS squad. Problem Goode has is Cooley, Davis, and Yoder facing him. |
Re: Impressive rookies
I live in Ocean Pines MD and the Preseason games are blacked out because my cable company is to cheap to pay the Redskins to broadcast them. I watched the game at the local sports bar and could not see well or hear well, but it looked like on the last drive they threw at Tryon almost every play. Was I mistaken?

Richardson clearly has outplayed Justin Tryon in all 3 preseason games thusfar. IMO Richardson is already ahead of Tryon on the depth chart, and if he isn't he should be, and I really think Richardson is going to make the team and Tryon is going to be placed on the practice squad. Tryon looked really bad this year. I thought he was a huge reach in the 4th round and so far he has proven me right. |
Re: Impressive rookies
On the brite side, I think that Devin Clark had another great game.

Re: Impressive rookies
I am watching the replay and realizing that Westbrook played a great game.

Re: Impressive rookies
goode will definitely be cut, and it won't be hard at all. tryon should probably be cut too. westbrook had a much better game, but that's after some real stinkers.
not a rookie, but mcmullen was pretty hot and cold tonight. making good plays, but penalties and dropped passes too. |
Re: Impressive rookies
I was impressed by our rookie Head Coach. He remained composed throughout the game, and as someone else mentioned, there did not appear to be the confusion on the field that we've gotten used to over the last decade or so - hope that sticks. Zorn seems to have a clear plan, and the players are executing, whether they're 1st string or 3rd string. What else can you expect from a head coach? I'm excited to see more!
I am as well. Coach Z has a plan and it is to teach the X's and O's of the game and put players in places they can have a impacted! Not only is he telling them what he wants but also why! He is stressing that on ever play all 11 players on the field have a job to do and any break down can kill the play! I really believe as the season goes on this team will keep getting better!

I heard a couple of good comments about Crummey during the game. I think at worst, he makes the Practice Squad. I think Jason Goode will have the toughest time making the team or even the Practice Squad. We are pretty set at TE with Cooley, Davis, and Yoder. Plus, I think Goode is hurt, so that's going to affect his chances. |
Re: Impressive rookies
The Carolina game brought me back down to earth. I hope the offensive line is better than it looked.

Re: Impressive rookies
Tryon is probably gonna be a practice squad man this year. For me the most impressive rookie outside of The colt, is Rhinehardt, he looks like he could be a key player in the future for us.
