I think everyone is forgetting that Geisinger, Justin is our only back up center. I was hoping that Crummey would be this guy, but it does not look like he is even getting a chance to play center. I think that who ever is the second string center is a lock to make the team. I think right now, that makes Geisinger a lock.
Art....I think you are forgetting the practice squade for some of the OL, Since Mix is injured I would suggest putting him on PS then allow him to maybe fight for a job later when he's healthy, ....and under DT you put Golston twice unless I'm a moron.lol.

I guess we all will be supprised by some of the cuts.
I did put in Golston twice. I meant Griffin and Golston. I also forgot about Lorenzo.

Isn't Rinehart able to play center as well?

Tryon is the one draft pick that I didnt like. He might be fast but he's 5'8" and lacks good coverage skills. Don't know what vinny was thinking there.

I wonder why we passed on Orlando Scandrick, who was eventually drafted by the Cowboys.
Right, Mix might still have the edge over McMullen based on his age and perceived potential. Should be a good battle to keep an eye on.
I would have to disagree -- there's potential, and then there's results. So far, Billy McMullen has produced results in the form of getting open and catching passes, while Anthony Mix has produced exactly nothing.

Someone will have to show me where Mix is such a great special teamer, because I haven't seen it.

I agree, I'm just throwing out a possible reason that Mix could still make the cut.

As for his play on special teams check the Bears game from last year.

Well, as for results, McMullen has done fine against scrubs in preseason. Unlike Mix, however, McMullen has had opportunities to start in the regular season and has failed at his previous stops. Additionally, his previous failures were on receiver hungry teams - Philadelphia and Minnesota - so it's not like he was the victim of a numbers game. Finally, his success in Zorn's offense up to this point is due in part to the fact that he is familiar with the WCO (even he admits this). Based on all this, I think McMullen will have to do more than "play well" against second teamers to impress. For him, that has to be the bare minimum. Given his history, McMullen needs to play well against starters and dominate the second teamers.

As for Mix, I think the buzz is gone for him. It doesn't seem that he has impressed the coaching staff too much. Unlike McMullen who has a history of failure and needed to overcome it, Mix has no history. As such, at this point in his career, Mix has needed to step up, show that he has finally made the adjustment to the pro game, and "play well" against the scrubs. He hasn't done that. I am thinking his hype was just the latest warpath man crush.

Right now, I wouldn't be surprised if neither made the final cut.

Good assessment. If there's a tough decision to make at another position and they go w/5 wr's, they both are definitely not in. for both of them there only hope is a 6 wr roster.

Mix was great on the kickoff coverage team last year. for that reason danny smith might lobby for him to stay.

Joe- you are missing 2 roster spots...
By your count I have you only keeping 51 players instead of 53

I don't see anyway they cut e. james. Especially since his old college coach is there. I think they are going to give him a roster spot and see what he can do this year. If nothing, he gets cut for next year.

No way Toler makes the team. What has he brought to the table the past two preseason games? You mean to tell me he has left more of an impression on the coaches or you then Mix or McMullen? Totally disagree here.

Derrick Devine sealed his fate with that pass into the end zone that was short. No way Zorn keeps him around. I know he likes him, but lets face it, what purpose does he serve to this team? Why would you even put him on the practice squad? He will never play, never be a back-up, so why waste time with him? Brennan is JC's future back up and Collins (I know he is old) is here for three years. Don't waste the time or spot for him.
