Barry Wilburn's armed robbery charge (which was dropped) came long after his time with the Redskins
Michael Westbrook wasn't a Gibbs guy Rogers' issues were before he was a Redskin (admittedly that's not much better than the Cowboys going after Tank or Pac Man) But really, it seems like you're defending the Cowboys' history in the 90s. Any issues any other teams have should not and does not lessen the off-field transgressions of the Cowboys.
No I'm not defending them at all, I'm just proving that pretty much every team has their problem spots. |
wtf does not being able to read have anything to do with the culture of the club? That has to do with house someone is raised in terms of education. No one knew he couldnt read when we picked him up.
At least the Skins make an effort to look for character when getting players. When you have an asshole owner(JJ) you get dicks as players(Smith, Irvin, Owens, Tank, Pacman, I could go on all day) more so.
You are absolutely right about Manley's reading problem, that's why I changed it. The only "Smith" I know is Emmitt. How is he a d*ck? Yeah, Irvin had his fair share of f-ups, but both are HOFers. I'll take that any day. Maybe JJ should be more like Danny boy and overpay for guys like Stubblefield, Archuleta (highest paid safety in NFL history), B. Lloyd, B. Smith, a washed up D. Sanders, T.J. Duckett, M. Westbrook, M. Carrier, S. Richards. But hey......................these are character guys, right! |

How many of these players have been in trouble as a Cowboy, within the last 10 to 12 years? None. Can you say that about your team? |

Re: Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty
The bottom line is no one wrote a book about the Redskins partying/acting like criminal a-holes when we won our Super Bowls. I wonder why.
Apparently JJ and his 4 man babysitting squad that follows PacMan around is having a tough time keeping him in line. He's a ticking time bomb, just like TO who seemed to be whining yet again today. |

He is still playing for the Rams. If he played for the Cowboys, it would have been blown up 1000 times greater. Every team in every sport has or had idiots whether the media talks about them or not. It is no secret that the Cowboys problems or successes are magnified larger than everybody else's. "I wonder why". It's funny when someone mentions the SB victorys from that time, it's all of a sudden "ancient history", but a lot of these things discussed are about players from that time. "I wonder why?" That's old news right? Just like those SB wins, correct? |

Your heyday was full of a-hole criminals, and since then JJ has desperately tried every approach (including re-filling the locker room with a-hole criminals), and still can't win a playoff game. You wanna discuss players from your heyday, fine. You wanna discuss players from your current team, fine. I'm not hiding behind any notion of the past. |

Yeah, guys handle things different ways. When Santana has ZERO catches and his team still wins, he's thrilled. When TO has a bad day and his team wins, he bitches and looks miserable on the sideline. When he has a bad day and his teams loses, he calls out teammates and coaches. Then he has another subpar day and still bitches about "dealing with a lot of issues this week." He's a friggin punk. Santana has better numbers this year and handles himself like a professional. TO can't define or spell professional. You're on a Redskins fan board. You're fighting an uphill battle you won't win. |

And of recent years how many arrests has happened between the Cowboys and Redskins? It's funny how the Bengals clearly have the worst off the field team, but according to some, you would never know it despite the Cowboys not having ANY arrests for years. But..............whatever helps you sleep at night. |

Sure, lately neither the Cowboys or the Skins have recent arrests. But you guys are right there with the Bengals as far as bringing in known dickheads. TO, PacMan, Tank... You don't see the Skins taking these kind of gambles on known scumbags. And how has it worked for you? Still haven't won a playoff game in 12+ years... And yeah, I'm sleeping well at night right now. |

Whether he was dealing with issues or not, I don't know, but he still is a great receiver and I don't think he has a clause in his contract saying he can't be a punk. Whether he is a punk or not that's not my concern, as long as he produces. One thing I can say, T.O. doesn't give up on an intercepted pass. I like punks that will have zero catches and still run down a player that has intercepted the ball and runs all the way down field to help block. Can't say I've seen Santana do these things. Yes, Santana is better statistically...............so far, but it is a long season, so we'll see. I beg to differ the last couple of seasons though. Wasn't even close. By the way I know what team's board this is and I'm not trying to fight a battle. Just giving an opinion just like you guys, that's all. |
