Philly has lost three DB's. Considine, Sheppard and Dawkins. Add L.J. Smith, Runyan and your'e looking at a team in serious trouble. I don't give a damn about the fans. The front office was applauded by the media as being so smart when it came to spending for it's FA. Hell, they didn't want to pay Westbrook.

but they'll have 42 draft picks next year. everyone of those guys is an extra 3rd-7th round comp pick.

not saying that's a good reason to be cheap, but it let's them stay cheap on draftees.

I gotta disagree. Considine is just not very good. Dawkins, while a great leader, has seen his coverage skills decline quite a bit, and Lito Sheppard has gone from pro-bowler to bench warmer pretty quickly. LJ Smith got outplayed by Brent Celek all year, and Runyan is old and just had microfracture surgery on his knee. Aside from Dawkins, I think they did a nice job trimming the fat here, plus they'll get compensatory picks, along with the multiple draft picks they got for Sheppard.

I'm kinda surprised the Eagles don't get more grief for their less than stellar success in the first two rounds of the draft over the past decade (those picks, if you ask anyone who assesses the job the Redskins do in the draft, are supposed to "no brainer"), Winston Justice, Jerome McDougle, Quentin Caver, Victor Abiamiri, Todd Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell, Matt McCoy...

Eeesh. Those are some pretty bad 1st round picks. They've done well outside of the 1st round, but it's hard to argue that those names pretty much stink out loud.

all this draft pick/no brainer/good- better FO talk has me wondering if there is a single reference that lists a team's year by year draft and the player's current status. I imagine there is, but hoping someone would have a link to it. if there was a similar one for FA, you could probably get an honest evaluation of FO's as opposed to gut reaction.

There is no Kenny Phillips, Michael Johnson, or James Butler, there is just "Giants safety".
