Re: Jim Zorn says redskins could pursue L. Johnson
Yeah, I would caution against us potentially picking up LJ as just another Snyder high-priced free agent signing or as another sign that things will never change at Redskins Park. Under the circumstance, I could understand us signing, I would imagine, a healthy Larry Johnson.
I'm willing to bet, he'd be much better than Shawn Alexander too. |

It is my understanding that the Redskins wouldn't have to pay him or wouldn't have to pay him much if he's picked up. |
Re: Jim Zorn says redskins could pursue L. Johnson
pats are looking at him, I would rather have a bad team like us to have him than a good team like NE having him.

Re: Jim Zorn says redskins could pursue L. Johnson
Mistake, excessive baggage, price tag, despite the latter never seming to be a problem here.

If a team picks LJ up off the waiver wire (which means before 4 PM eastern time on 11/10), then that acquiring team also picks up his moneies owed. And LJ is carrying a 2.1Mill price tag right now. The "Waiver Wire" is done in the order of the draft, each team gets a chance in that order to pick him up. If no team picks him up off the wire (before 4PM EST), then he becomes and unrestricted free agent and can be signed by any team, but, the contract negotiations start all over and he looses that 2.1 mill. |

If we were in the playoff race, it would be a good signing.

Re: Jim Zorn says redskins could pursue L. Johnson
Is Mason available? (surely this discussion hasn't gone this long without someone asking the ultimate question ;))

No, he was mentioned before in the thread, and yes, he's available. |

you're right, given Rock's limitations & Portis being out. |

Mason's gotta be tired of the Skins guiding him around by his nuts. I mean, it is money, but does he really wanna get back on the Skins bandwagon after they've repeatedly cut him? |
Re: Jim Zorn says redskins could pursue L. Johnson
I find it so funny that everyone wants to compare a 1st round talent like LJ to a mason who can seem to stay on the roster. come on man!

You did notice I was being sarcastic right? |
Re: Jim Zorn says redskins could pursue L. Johnson
He was interviewed on the Dan Patrick show about 45 minutes ago and he seemed to be a very articulate, intelligent guy, kind of impressed by him. Too bad his actions speak louder.

It was written in his contract. Normally that is correct though. What are his options right now? I mean we are talking about a 53rd roster spot kind of guy. |
