Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
i agree with you there buster. dallas' colors don't even match. if i had to go w stripes, i'd def go w the ones you displayed (nothing like that new age garbage the vikings, jaguars, etc. use)
how do you feel about the solid burgundy socks? |
Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
Solid socks are fine, I didn't touch the socks other than changing the gold shade on the striped ones.

Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
I miss the candy canes that Portis and Taylor wore and subsequently got fined for

Yeah, I really liked those too. I also liked the "R" helmet w/ the gold pants w/ wore a couple years ago. |

remember when lavar went w the plastic facemask? so ugly... |
Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
i think our standard helmets and burgundy jerseys would look great with solid gold pants instead of the standard white pants. i think solid burgundy socks would look really good with this setup. add solid white shoes and that just tops it off for me.
they should have also done colored jerseys when they did our “R” throwbacks (instead of only white). i hope they consider doing that in the future. not a fan of the all burgundy uniforms but i don’t mind the all white ones.
All burgandy with black shoes would look neat. |
All burgandy with black shoes would look neat.
i concur with the term "neat"

Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
No to the black shoes.

Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
solid white shoes are as nice as you can get. that's why i said the black shoes are "neat"

Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
Yes I'm updating the pants thread.
D.C. Sports Bog - Redskins alumni will help decide team's uniforms Could be 2011. Who knows:
Redskins alumni will help decide team's uniforms Bruce Allen and ESPN 980's Kevin Sheehan combined to create quite a furor a few months ago when they discussed the Redskins possibly wearing gold pants and burgundy tops at home games in 2010. The team soon started selling a t-shirt featuring gold pants. The speculation was off and running. So when Sheehan had Allen on the radio again Wednesday morning, he returned to the topic, asking Allen about that previous hint. "You took it as a hint, you understood it a certain way," Allen said with good humor. "I said we're very proud of our team colors of burgundy and gold, and we will be wearing our Redskins uniforms. You took that to mean something, and then I got 400 e-mails myself on that. We're gonna discuss our uniforms with our alumni later, after the preseason, and we'll see what we wear. We will be wearing our team colors, I promise you. Our jerseys have burgundy and gold, they're special colors, [and] we'll see what happens." Allen said the Redskins would not have an alternate uniform this season. He declined to say whether the team would wear dark or white colors at home. He said the team's helmets would stay the same. And he said he liked the fact that so many people were fascinated by this issue. "It's wonderful, and as we spend more and more time with the alumni, believe me, they have some specific ideas of concepts we should do," Allen said. "And we really are gonna listen to our alumni quite a bit this year." By Dan Steinberg | August 11, 2010; 1:49 PM ET
My prediction - white jerseys with existing burgundy pants, burgundy jerseys with GOLD pants. They've already worn the white/burgundy combo vs. Buffalo last Friday. Now in FedEx Field's official team store... Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
I'd like to see them stick with the classic white jerseys and burgundy pants at home. I liked that they went back to the striped socks last week too.

Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
Speaking of striped socks, what did people think of Denver's vertical stripes on those hideous throwbacks they wore last year?
I liked the idea of vertical stripes because of the way Jabar Gaffney wore them...he twisted them so the stripes weren't straight: Personally, I thought that was awesome! |
Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
I loved them, when worn properly.
You can see the twisted ones in there: My favorite of the throwbacks were the Oilers light blue, Bills and Patriots. The Bills' curent uniforms are a complete mess, they should return to the old standing buffalo white helmet full time. The Patriots need Pat back, Flying Elvis was always ugly. I also thought the Vikings throwback last year was a big upgrade, even with the mismatched purple helmet. If they'd take that striping design with the current metallic purple....perfection. Their current one is a piping mess. Sadly, the Oilers are gone forever. I always loved all of their uniforms. |
Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
This year's throwbacks: Packers, Bears, Eagles, Colts.
