My guess is that you've captured Shanny's idea. I don't think Hightower is here to send Helu to the bench. Instead, he's here for insurance should Helu struggle learning pass protection. |
Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
If Hightower makes the team I'll give him a video.

Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
Anytime you get younger, and swap out a guy who might not have made the team anyway that is a win in my book.

This doesn't look good for Royster to make the team. I like the whole getting younger thing, but not at this position. |
Lose an expendable old guy, while adding depth and youth. I certainly cant thumbs down this one...
Thinking we might be focused on running the ball all day long... |
if he comes out of camp uninjured, hightower will be the starting qb week 1.
THAT is humor! At least I......hope it is Welcome to the WP |
Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
Nice move, he's pretty versatile. I could see him being primarily the 3rd down guy.
It was kinda hard to see Holiday even making the team. |

118 catches in 3 seasons. |

Please take the 49er logo down lol

Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
I see this as trading haynesworth for Hightower. Very good move

Yeah! don't think he would be very excited about either Helu or Royster being in a game in critical passing situations until he's actually seen what they can do in game conditions. What it means for K. Williams may yet to be determined. The RB competition is becoming crowded. Matty added 118 catches in 3 seasons.......that's money |
Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
I really love this move.
Instantly the most proven comidity we have at RB. the guy brings speed, youth, and experience to our back field for an old guy we got for next to nothing last year. Great move. |
Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
Great trade, love Hightower. He will fulfill his potential with the Redskins, which he didn't do with the cards.
|
Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
The reality of Shanahan is that unless he's got a stud like Terrell Davis in the backfield, everyone gets a shot at the ball.
I think we'll keep Hightower and he'll get his touches, especially on the receiving end. We'll keep Helu because he's got the one-cut style Shanahan loves and enough speed to threaten the defense on a homerun. And it will be up to Torain, Royster, and K Williams to battle for the other spot. Will probably come down to teams. Helu will lead our team in touches and yards from scrimmage at the RB position. |
Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.
So this is the veteran RB they've been talking about adding it seems. I heard trade in the works with Arizona this morning and I actually thought it was for Max Hall
Christ O'Mighty, can you imagine the crap storm that would've ensued if that happened... ...I would've wanted Skelton, though. Skelton by a mile. |
