Is that why they made it to the playoffs on the back of a 3rd string rookie QB(yates), while his top WR (johnson) sat out 9 games last season and their top runner being out 3 games??
I think the facts prove you wrong.
Houston is a Super Bowl contender. Indy might win 3 to 6 games. I almost feel sorry for Luck. He's going to have a real tough rookie year. |

Re: Robert Griffin III: The Man Behind The Name
Bill Polian was on The Herd this morning -- said RGIII is the second best player in the draft behind Luck. He said Griffin brings a dimension to the game that hasn't been seen since Steve McNair, and said that he's actually ahead of McNair due to the difference in their respective divisions. (McNair played at Alcorn St.)
I'd be happy with that kind of praise from one of the best minds in football. |

Re: Robert Griffin III: The Man Behind The Name
Does anybody (here) really see Griffin as a young Steve McNair?
As to the misinformation surrounding Griffin's personality or maybe character, it could be that he's kind of aloof, which can be mistaken for arrogance but I think it's probably more that he's just dealing w/ the "big stage" in his own way. |

Both of those guys talked seemed to talk about themselves a good bit and I see a little of that in RG3. Trust me pretty soon theres going to be a little doubt about Griffins ability in which case he will tell us a million times how confident he is in himself just like Brees and Warner did when there were doubts about them. |

I see a bit of the Brees/Warner likeness as well. Anytime someone works to be great at something like an organized sport there's a certain amount of self-involvement that becomes inevitable, which is different than selfishness I think. But I was talking about style of play regarding McNair, which I think will be limited in similarity. McNair was a hulk of a QB who extended plays w/ sheer strength and power. Griffin doesn't have that kind of bulk/strength and will have to extend plays w/ his quickness, speed and hopefully good vision. Also, I think Griffin is more accurate already, but we're waiting to see if he can adjust to the speed of pro ball. |

Looking at the reader comments is telling. Why all the sudden vitriol against RGIII ? One guys says "RGIII = Akili Smith. BUST!" Couldn't the same be said of Andrew Luck and Tim Couch? It could also be more proof of my hunch that the Redskins are just one of those teams that people love to hate, and as soon as a potential draft pick becomes associated with Washington, public sentiment tends to turn against them. |
