Redskins | Adam Carriker will get chance
Tue, 04 Mar 2014 20:52:44 -0800 Updating a previous report, free-agent DE Adam Carriker (Redskins) (quadriceps) will "very likely" receive a chance to prove his health to the Washington Redskins in June, according to three sources. Comment | Source: ESPN980 - Chris Russell | Share: |
Re: Free Agency Begins in a Week, Whats the Plan?
I'd argue that Spikes absolutely fits the Redskins because of the emphasis that we place on stopping the run. Spikes is only 26 years old and paired with a coverage linebacker like Christian Jones could greatly improve our defense.
My guess is that TW would be insulted by a "demotion" to the right side. Why alienate our best lineman?
Considering TW is one of the best 3 LT in the game moving him and not some one else to the RT spot is ludicris. |
Re: Free Agency Begins in a Week, Whats the Plan?
Yeah Trent isn't moving to RT, just stop.

Re: Free Agency Begins in a Week, Whats the Plan?
Time to move on from Carriker. He hasn't played in a game in years.

and the Redskins cannot afford to pay for 2 left tackles |

i just moved back to the DMV area and heard cooley break down the FA class. it was an awesome segment with insight ive never heard on the radio or anywhere else. i think i heard ti right when cooley said that spikes is very limited in what assignments a D Coord can give him. cooley basically said that he gets taken out in nicle packages, cant play zone, cant play man on a TE and is limited to a flat zone read only. if anyone heard this segment and i got something wrong let me know. it was just as i was getting in the car, etc. cooley really likes dansby for awareness and nose for the football but said he will probably stay with AZ on a team friendly K. he also liked a LB guy from the ravens as well. ps - just read the previous posts/pages and spikes limited pass play has been talked ad nauseum. sorry for beating a dead horse. |

He is a real LB. I know he is old for a football player, but the guy can play. |
Re: Free Agency Begins in a Week, Whats the Plan?
nevermind on dansby imo.
i thought he would be contract friendly (5 mil per or less) since he signed a 1 year 2.25 mil K last year but he is hinting at wanting big money now. 10 years+ running the site and you are even moderately shocked by the inanity of fans? That, in itself, is shocking. |

He doesn't fit the Redskins if we don't have a reliable cover guy who we can put in on 3rd down. Our strengths are fine and dandy, but you get burned for TDs because you have weak links. Do you think we have someone who could come in on 3rd down and not be considered a weak link in coverage? |

Not shocked at all. |
Re: Free Agency Begins in a Week, Whats the Plan?
Guys I have a brilliant idea. Let's sign a top 12ish LT and move our current top 6ish LT to the less important RT position.
