Re: RT and OL thread
Well I mean a guy like Murphy for example won't start but should get a lot of playing time. Here's how I see it
Murphy-Significant playing time, won't start barring injury Moses-Lots of game day inactives Long-Could start toward the back end of the season Breeland-Practice squad Seastrunk-Some early inactives, but I think he'll make a push for playing time toward the 2nd half. Knocks Thompson off roster Grant-Has the potential to make Roberts look like a complete waste of a FA signing Holser-Cut Hocker-All he has to do is make the team and he starts, and I think he's got a great shot
Look SS, I need you to go ahead and just tell me who the HOF'er is. My expectations as a skins fan is HOF every draft class and if that isnt met, blame Danny for meddling. |
Re: RT and OL thread
I doubt he would make it to the the practice squad, he would have to clear waivers first. He will make the team.
Good point; I wasn't thinking about that. |
Re: RT and OL thread
Breeland should definitely contribute on special teams at the very least.

Re: RT and OL thread
I think there's going to be a surprise, and that surprise will be Breeland. Just my guess

Murphy-Significant playing time, won't start barring injury OK Moses-Lots of game day inactives He'll play after Polumbus allows RGIII to get trampled a couple of times. Long-Could start toward the back end of the season Fair enough. I'd guess sooner. Breeland-Practice squad Not if he's good on ST. Seastrunk-Some early inactives, but I think he'll make a push for playing time toward the 2nd half. Knocks Thompson off roster. Seems reasonable to me. Grant-Has the potential to make Roberts look like a complete waste of a FA signing No way. Roberts is very good and he's twice as fast as Grant. Grant may be perfect as a 4th receiver and ST player. Holser-Cut Wasted pick. Hocker-All he has to do is make the team and he starts, and I think he's got a great shot I'll take your word for that.
This is what I would call a General Manager's type of draft. I say that because it looks like we've filled most of the holes with stop-gap FA veterans and drafted players with upside who may need some time to develop. If the HC got to "buy the groceries", I think our draft would have looked different. |
Re: RT and OL thread
Just a little off topic but it's funny to me that Will Montgomery went from the Redskins to the Broncos. The player that might have been the main player responsible for the play causing the most damage to RGIII's knee (bad snap). To the team that set the worst tone on the first play of a Super Bowl (bad snap).

Re: RT and OL thread
Polumbus isn't nearly as bad as people seem to think. He's middle of the road guy that can hold down the spot until he's pushed out. No need to rush Moses in there until he earns the job.
Somebody's gott take the blame for our 3-13 season! LOL, people forget this line was looking pretty good two years ago when RGIII and Morris were setting rookie records. Instead everyone here is clamoring to start our Day 2 Rookies against one of the best pass rush teams in the NFL week 1. #nopatience |
Re: RT and OL thread
I am willing to bet, unless Moses looks lost in space, he will start. Polumbus can run block, but he can't create a pocket at all.
Well it certainly hasn't help that he had three other bums to the left of him. |

I am talking about outside rush, not the middle. Many times Polumbus just got plain beat off the edge. That has nothing to do (or very little) with the 3 other bums. |

I guess I'm thinking that a good coach can account for one, maybe two, average to below average linemen...not four. |

Taking on Clowney in Week 1 just got a little less scary. While I never had sports hernia surgery I have had a regular hernia and the recovery from any surgery in that area is a b**** even with laproscopic techniques (operating through a keyhole rather then making a large cut to repair the area). I practically needed to use a putter as a cane to walk around the house the first few days. |
